$150 for lenses is inexpensive?

Yes, particularly if you go to an independent store or a franchise. Luckily there are cheaper options such as Costco or the low(er) cost Warby Parker. My last Warby Parker lenses cost me $325, although they were more complex.

I just received a pair of prescription lenses for my incoming Viture glasses. They cost $100 (including 20% sales tax and courier shipping from the UK to SE Asia).
Zenni sell prescription lenses for the Quest 3 for $50.

So yes - $150 is expensive.

Kind of just disappointing that the lenses don’t seem to come with a case, as per the review videos that came out today.

I'm sure someone will make a case for the lenses. We'll just have to wait a bit. In the meantime, keep the paper packaging.

sure, it’s just any pair of glasses you buy comes with a case. So it would make sense to do the same for something like this. Doesn’t need to be anything insane, just something protective for when they aren’t in use.

My prescription lenses have moved from China at the fastest rate I have ever seen for an Apple product. Normally it takes up to 3 days to clear Chinese customs.

And no big surprise. Got my new prescription today Zeiss can’t make them so I’ll be trying it with sclera lenses (most likely won’t work) and alternate input methods. If it sucks I’ll be returning it. Pocketing the cash and apple needs to solve this. Leaving out a decent part of the community.

Non-Zeiss lenses are currently unlikely to work because apparently there are QR-like codes that come with the lenses that tell the AVP about the lens. See footnote #3 in John Gruber's review: https://daringfireball.net/2024/01/the_vision_pro

I keep checking but no change on status. The light shield is supposed to arrive via expedited shipping on Feb 2; and ZEISS lenses still say verified W estimated delivery of Feb 5-7.

Not every product can be made for every person. Get over it. Nobody is attacking you or leaving you out.

Im trying to understand if the reader inserts are necessary. I wear 1.5x Walgreens readers for reading anything up close like my phone, computer monitor etc. If I step back 4 feet or more I don't need them. My understanding is your eyes focus on AR/VR headeets the equiv of 3-6 feet away. We don't know what the APV does but I guess we will have to wait and see. I ordered a set of $99 reader inserts and the correct light seal for them to pick up at the Apple Store tomorrow afternoon incase I need them after my AVP arrives. Hopefully if I need the readers Apple will take back the original light seal that comes with it tomorrow.

The AVP and the case I ordered for delivery are in my city, but the lenses are still in Louisville 🤦‍♂️

Got the email that my AVP is ready for pickup in the store tomorrow. An excerpt regarding the lenses as follows:

If you ordered ZEISS Optical Inserts - Prescription, they will ship to the address provided when you placed your order. If you have not yet received them, please bring your glasses to your Apple Vision Pro Pickup appointment.

Mine says the same but I just got a text from Apple saying Feb. 23rd delivery but Apple website says shipped for Feb. 5-7 delivery. UPS say it shipped yesterday with unknown delivery.

Looks like if you're picking up the AVP in the store and you have your ZEISS inserts, then bring them to the store with you. Otherwise, bring your glasses.

Delivery!

Just got my inserts. I'm picking up my AVP tomorrow at the Apple Store. When I hold up the inserts in front of my eyes, they do NOT do as good a job of correction as my current glasses with the same prescription - hard to read text at various distances. Moving them out and back from my face do not show any improvement. So, I registered the inserts at the Zeiss site and was able to see that the prescription numbers for the inserts are, in fact, correct. Anybody else experience this?

That may not be a good way to judge the inserts since they are only designed to work next to the Vision Pro's lens.
