Voting third party is throwing your vote away. If you truly care about this country, you would support the lesser of the two evils. Anything less is voting for evil.
Luckily, Warren is unlikely to win the nomination.

If there are true antitrust cases to be made, then the DoJ should pursue them, not a politician. Unless the DoJ is claiming it cannot prosecute due to a lack of antitrust staff and resources, which could be fixed, it's a bad idea to mix politics and justice. I say this even as a leftie. Besides, if you want to break up companies that are too big, let us start with the banks.
I'm not sure how you make an anti-trust case against Apple. They're not the biggest player in the phone or laptop industry.

1 PM (La Jolla, CA-time) update for Sunday, March 10th

FYI, we've been asked to Read & Analyze every single Review for every single Camera App in the iOS App Store that has received an "Editor's Choice" recommendation.

As you may or may NOT know, a certain U.S. Senator feels as we do, that the iOS App Store MUST be run as an independent company, outside of AAPL.

Specifically, that it's NOT OK for AAPL to continue to have a Stranglehold on App Discovery OR third-party App Innovation, which is clearly the case right now !

We believe AAPL makes their app recommendations strictly based-upon "Politics".

Case in point, AAPL recently recommended v1.0 of a brand-new Camera App that clearly did NOT deserve it !

That illustrates our strong belief that AAPL clearly likes to Control the Narrative.

That needs to end, & when it does, AAPL's iPhone & iPad owners will benefit SIGNIFICANTLY !

Do NOT be surprised if Elizabeth Warren soon gets SIGNIFICANT praise for her efforts.

This is a Topic that has been Off the Radar of many, but should NOT have been.

Who's 'we'?

So according to Warren, companies like Google, Apple, and Amazon “stifle” innovation. K

While that’s entirely true, it’s also just the natural course of capitalism itself. We need to stop with this phony “crony capitalism” nonsense. All the power brokers attend the same parties and conferences, this is what happens when obscene wealth concentrates so tightly. It’s capitalism taken to its natural conclusion, not a flaw in its implementation.

It's not a natural conclusion of free market capitalism which exists when the laws are applied equally to the powerful and the less powerful, smaller companies or even the lone individuals in that system. When the most powerful corporations in the history of the world use their power to subvert and control every aspect of society, media, the financial system and technology and use their wealth and power to control governments to change and subvert the rules of the system to prevent free market competition then that is no longer free market capitalism.

It's the result of corruption in big government and those massive corporations that have decided to subvert and change the rules to gain absolute power by using the greed of corrupt players in government to manipulate the free market.

Tech giants are the least of America's problems.
Most of those tech giants like Google, Apple and MS (Microsoft) became tech giants because of American free market capitalism. They became giants by developing and providing useful services and technology to people and other companies in a free market system. The problem happens when those giants use their current power to prevent the next generation of upcoming Steve Jobs like entrepreneurs from growing their companies due to a tech giant biased and corrupted system. Apple in particular probably wouldn't have survived it's battle with the previously all powerful MS tech giant OS and software monopoly without help from a government and legal system that emphasizes a fair free market.

We have to wonder whether the vision of the iPhone and hand held smart phone technology we currently know would exist at all if not for a free market system supported by a government that tries to apply the laws equally to all companies regardless of size or influence.

it means exactly that. in terms of Apple she'd want to have the hardware and software and services etc all be
different companies.

and she'd probably want Apple to make hardware that could load any OS someone wants
It's a touchy subject. I'm not sure we want her or any other politician deciding on their own whether or how to break up the most powerful tech companies in the world. Should they be broken up? Why would she get to decide? Wouldn't that ultimately make her and the other politicians more powerful players than the tech giants themselves?

It's hard to take her seriously. How about if she starts by saying she won't take donations or any money from global big tech companies or their lobbyists before during or after she's in government. Instead of saying that if given that power she will wave a magic wand like a goddess... how about if she proves she is committed to enforcing the current anti-trust laws to promote free market competition.

Four more years of #winning. It’s gonna happen and 3/4th of th country, including my self are PUMPED! Dems have been making themselves look bad for the last two years, why would any resonance Americans who lives inbetween Cali and DC ever vote Democrat?

I’ll refer you to the 2016 county presidential election map, I’m sure there will be a lot more red this time around, looking like a version coverage map.

I wish I was this blissful.

it's a very touchy subject, especially in regards to Apple. numerous lawsuits etc have asserted that Apple is within the law, even the Constitution and she wants to smash that to pieces.

I agree. These kind of sudden bold statements from politicians who do seem to hold that kind of power need to be seriously scrutinized. It's sort of a catch 22 regarding the influence of global tech corporations. If you are a big tech company why wouldn't you use your power try to exert influence in politics when the very survival of your global company as it stands is in the hands of influential law makers.

This is absolute bull. Your type of low-brow reasoning is why we keep getting substandard presidents like Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump.

The point of voting is to cast your vote for the person who best represents you not to be on the winning side of a popularity contest.

People like YOU are the problem. YOU are the reason we have the mess we have today.

How about Indian Warren starts with pushing term limits to break up the power and stifling of Congress? And why doesn’t she resign and go serve Her people on the reservations. Oh wait....

This is basic discrimination against tech companies. Every retail company has it's own brands as well as other companies' brands. Grocery stores, department store, hardware stores. You can't just focus on one group. People have a choice to purchase certain products. I prefer Apple and their ecosystem (dirty word), but I still have other options if I like. No one is forced or has too much control.

Exactly, I tend to use Google more than Apple these days because Apple hasn't really had any innovative new features in a long time, but that is my choice and if I didn't like either choice, there are others available as well.

Now I could see requiring Apple to allow third party sources in a manner similar to Google allowing them, where there is a warning that it isn't an official source and may cause issues, but allows installation anyway, that would indeed open up competition.

Opposition parties in the US and UK need to follow the K.I.S.S. principle.

They need to keep the crazy big partisan ideas to themselves, and just demonstrate how they would run things better. The one thing I want from my government is 'competence', and all the politicians I can see are failing at this. Figuring out how services can be improved and better organised should take up 99% of their time. We need better education, health, infrastructure, high-tech investment, clean energy, environmental protection, etc... What else is a government for?

Stop blaming and bickering with each other and focus on what needs to be done to make things better for everyone.

She wants to destroy what literally makes Apple Apple. The thing is, she won't get much traction on that front. Apple has far too many competitors to be considered a true monopoly.

You are being naive to think that. You are always voting for an imperfect candidate. In our system you are voting for the candidate that can actually be elected and advance whatever agenda you feel is important. A small amount of potential progress is better than none at all. You are wasting your vote otherwise, but that is your choice.

No, I’m voting for the candidate who best represents me. If more people did this we might end up with higher quality presidents.

“In our system you are voting for the candidate that can actually be elected and advance whatever agenda you feel is important.”

They “can actually be elected” because the average American half-wit is too stupid and lazy to think harder, grow a pair, and vote with their brain. Oh, and that’s NOT how our system is designed to work. People like you devolved it to that low bar.

I guess if you’re satisfied accepting half-measures and barely passable leaders, then have at it. Talk about a wasted vote.

It’s clear how we wound up that moron Obama and that idiot Trump. Congrats?

If the candidate that you feel best represents you is going to lose, they won’t be representing anybody, including you. Quit blaming others because you wish the system was different. According to you, everyone that disagrees with you is a “moron, idiot, stupid, half-wit or lazy”. Your third party voting most likely helped some of those people get elected that you dislike.
