Can we get a Mac Mini with AMD 4000 series APUs? Or even just an Intel chip with a decent GPU? Throw in upgradable storage or at the very least double the storage across the line and WiFi 6 and it might be time for me to upgrade my 2012 Mac Mini.

YES PLEASE LET THIS BE TRUE. I am desperate for a new desktop and I’m not a billionaire so can’t afford the Mac Pro. I sincerely hope it’s a new iMac chassis with thin bezels and no chin, but I suspect they might wait for new ARM chipped iMacs Next year to introduce a new design. Really hoping they don’t.

After the “one more thing” flop one better not believe him anymore.

Hopefully a new design for the iMac and please, please no more 5400 rpm drives being offered

Honestly, I fear a re-designed imac. Still will have been the misguided work of Jonny Ive, so it’ll be beautiful and thinner for no reason, and severely compromised in tons of unacceptable ways. ive’s lost touch with what he was making too long ago.

agreed on the 5400 rpm. Hostile behavior by Apple showing no respect for their customers.

I'd like Mac Mini with some graphics horsepower. A Ryzen APU would suffice. I love my Mac Mini, but it struggles with FCP, and I don't want an ungainly external GPU. I also don't want an iMac. If it just had a couple TFLOPS of graphics compute, it would be perfect.

Here’s to hope of them releasing a Mac Pro Mini lol. I really don’t think they went that far into designing all that for the Mac Pro and not release something for semi pro people. Give me an i9 with expandable pci and Unsoldered ran. And I’m in. They would sell like hotcakes!

I just had a thought.

What if they redesigned the mac mini to be that "Modular Mac Pro" that we heard about.

All they need to do is beef up the cooling potential of the Mac Mini, add a dedicated GPU stackabe module, and then an 1 Hard Drive / Flash Storage module all connected by PCIe or whatever. The Mac mini already has the potential and is a very strong starting point. It just needs to have the capability to expand.

I'll bite on the Mac mini if they stop with the soldered-on storage.

I'd really like to see a Mac mini with accessible (and user-upgradable) internal storage & RAM. The RAM on the current one can be done but it's not as simple as spinning off the bottom anymore.
I think RAM should continue to be user upgradable, although as you pointed out, Apple should make it easier to upgrade.

But due to T2-enforced security, internal storage is next to impossible to upgrade. I would just supplement internal storage with external SSD.
