I'm back to this thread to change my mind, here's the thing.

I working for some years on a MBP 15 with no external monitor. Some months ago I got a 34 wide display and I hate it, why? well the resolution sucks but more important is huge!!! my neck hurts moving constanly from left to right, I can't access easily the files on the right from desktop. I return that thing, no more wide for me.

So, recently got a 27 inch display and still feel it a little big, my problem is that I like have things more on the front, I don't see apps on the right of left long from my view, but well... maybe overtime I used to.

The point of this comment is, I don't need or want a 32 display!!! 27 is more than enough for me, so glad to I can't stop thing on getting the XDR, I save money and I'm focus on the next versions of the Studio Display! MiniLED etc.

I purchased one XDR Nano last week and I believe is the best decision I made in a while. I was interested in a high-end screen, with no speakers or camera. Once the new 7K XDR is coming out, I will purchase another 6K XDR.

Also, I couldn’t stop thinking about the Pro Display XDR. At first I was convinced about buying two Studio Displays. But the thought of it felt like a disappointment. I just kept going back to the Pro Display XDR. Once it got in B-Stock, I decided it was time to finally buy it.

I can tell you one thing: it really is not wasted money! I can understand that if you have to buy a new one for the full price, it will be a bit of a different story. I’d advice to keep an eye on B-Stock products or a second-hand one like @TECK did. If you can score it for a good price, it for sure is no waste of money.

Rumors started to show on front page about new monitors, I believe the new products will start making surface in 2024. That will allow me to purchase another current model XDR Nano for a really good price, when the new XDR comes out. No regrets whatsoever for buying the current model, looking forward to use it extensively for the next 10-15years. :)

I totally agree, in my case I got an used XDR Nano with the stand, which turned to be brand new with AppleCare+, I saved the price of my new Studio M2 Ultra. I was so excited when I scored the deal.

I really like the 34” ultra wide but it’s the resolution that’s moving me towards an upgrade here. Were you sitting really close to it? One of the reason I dislike side-by-side dual monitor setups is that it bothers my neck to be turning side to side so much. If I do 2 displays with a laptop I usually position the laptop below my primary display so that I’m just glancing down at the laptop screen occasionally. The 34” gave me some extra real estate without the head turning issue.

Initially I was a little torn on losing a bit of width going from 34” wide 21:9 to a 16:9 32”… but actually I’m noticing it’s those last couple Inches on either side that are just a bit too far to the side to be useful to me in my current setup, so this 32” screen will be ideal (and gain me some vertical space).

I like have the monitors close to me, I working on UI/UX and working close creating UI elements is important to me, but sometimes also stay distance to view full web sites that I create.

By the way, this images, look the height on the 32:

show something interesting, I like the 27 horizontal space due I don't see too much from left to right but! I feel the height is better on a 32, sometimes I feel that I need more space on the height.

damn! I wish Apple release a 32 with a price for the masses to at least considerate buy a 32, there's hope, maybe this is the new 32 https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...-display-reportedly-in-early-testing.2395435/ ? maybe...

This is why the old Cinema Displays had a 16:10 aspect ratio instead of 16:9 we have now.

The 30" Cinema Display was 2560x1600 (16:10) while the later 27" one was 2560x1440 (16:9) and the 5k Display is equivalent to 2560x1440 doubled. Those extra vertical pixels were amazing and it sucks that we lost them.

Curiously enough, Macbooks still have 16:10 displays. A bit taller now since the change to the notch design.
