iPhone .11. Pro .Max .

LOL what a stupid long name for a phone.

A "Pro" phone in 2019 should have a 90hz display or higher. And like 8GB RAM. And a camera that's easily #1 best in class, but itlli probably be just as good as the Pixel 4 camera, doubtfully better.

Oh well, the Apple lovers will lap it up and buy it record numbers. Just like McDonald's Big Mac, the #1 selling hamburger .

What are you going to do on an iPhone that would ever require 8GB of RAM?

iOS is optimized, it doesn't need more than 2gb ram

iPhones run an iPod MP3 player class OS. If you ever want iPadOS features you'll need up to 6GB like on the current iPad Pros but preferably more for working on larger data files and future proofing. Or inversely, if you strip down a desktop OS and remove split window foreground multitasking, remove background multitasking, run a minimal desktop UI where you can't place home screen icons anywhere, etc. you can run it on a 2GB desktop/laptop with lesser CPU. That's not optimization but rather stripped down. Optimization is requiring less resources to support the same features which isn't the case here.

MP3 player OS? LOL. Good one. Joke of the day., thanks for that. :)

Honestly in terms of RAM, I was sure there were users with iPadOS on 2 GB devices with great experiences, just like they have right now. Our Air 2 is running iOS 12 very nicely. Sure, safari tabs reload when you have many open, but other than that...?

I agree iOS is similar to a calculator OS, not a true operating system for a mini computer.

It feels and looks so dated like something from a decade ago.

I find it funny when people are like it needs 6gb or 8gb or ram but then never explain what they need it for. I’m not trying to suggest people don’t need it just that I’ve never seen/heard anyone articulate why they need the extra ram.

I’m much more interested in the experience the phone offers which, to me, the pro offers a better experience thanks to the OLED display and extra camera. Do I think that’s objectively (if there is such a thing) worth the extra $400-$500 Canadian they’re asking? No I don’t, but for me as someone who loves phones it’s worth it. I rarely recommend the high end iPhones to anyone except hardcore tech enthusiasts or Apple fanboys and that’s fine, the 11 and XR exist for most people that just want a phone that works.

pro just means a little bit better

its not to be taken literally. this should be obvious by now

Pro doesn’t mean that at all. Apple is using the term ‘Pro’ to create a separation of what they believe the consumer will ultimately recognize as the newest iPhone with the latest features, more specifically, the triple lens camera. Also, Pro is for Productivity, which Apple is probably continuing this naming due to the iPad and Mac line sharing the same titles.

A pro machine cannot have 64 gb of storage.

A pro machine cannot have 4 gb of ram.

A pro machine cannot have a lightning port.

iPhone Pro = iPhone Deluxe.

They should stop calling it the iPhone Pro(fessional).

Please reply with what EXACTLY, Precisely Pro means to you.
Hell anyone else chime in as well.

What does the new trigger word of year mean to you. And why do you have that feeling?

Some folks are really hung up on that word. I think Apple did it merely to differentiate between the iPhone 11 and the two higher-end models.

Where does it state a pro machine cannot have these things? Btw, I think the marking the iPhone as a pro is silly, likewise stating what a pro machine must have

Really? It's silly to actually try and describe what a pro machine should have?

We're human beings, we language to guide us. If you call something "pro" it should mean something, and not just be for marketing.

Most people would tell you that a "pro" machine should not come gimped right out of the box with 64gb of memory. Most people will tell you a pro machine needs to have a connection port that is compatible with 90% of pro equipment.

Apple fans need to stop being so ridiculous in defending this company.

You know was well as I do, pro is alluding to professional, not productivity....

And yes, “pro” models are those with better features than non “pro”

So, according to your standards, the first MacBook Pro (released in 2006) should not have been called a Pro machine.

It came with only 512MB of RAM. It could be upgraded to 2GB, but it's still not "Pro" enough by your standards.

It didn't have a lightning port. (Okay, it wasn't invented yet. But those are your standards.)

But maybe it's kind of a "Pro" machine since it has 80GB of storage.

MacBook Deluxe? Maybe.
FWIW I still think MacBook Pro is a terrible name, PowerBook was better.

I would have still ordered it if they called it Apple iPhone 11 Max 2. Its a pro phone compared to the 11 who cares
