To be fair, reviewers do the same with any extra large phone (which is what the 6+ is). I'm not sure if I agree with it or not, but at least they're consistent :)

Yeah, most tech reviewers seem to have issues with all phablets. The 6+ is great for those who don't have tablets and/or rarely use an iPhone as a phone. The 6 is probably better for those who plan to predominantly use it as a phone, have small hands, or already have a tablet they use. There's no doubt the 6+ is a slightly better piece of equipment with its camera and batteries, but that doesn't really matter if its not ideal for use as a phone.

Form factor is an important aspect of reviewing tech products. In fact, I feel like I remember when the MacBook Air finally became good enough to use as a main computer tech bloggers/reviewers all basically said unless you really want that bigger screen or do serious graphics stuff, the MacBook Air is the computer you should get.

Also, after so many years of tech reviewing (especially in phones) being about how smaller is better, its probably hard to switch gears.

But size is a personal choice and not one that needs reviewing.

It is absolutely fair of them to point out if they were uncomfortable using the device over time; part of what a review is supposed to be is sharing personal experiences using a device to give other people an idea of what to expect.

Why are you taking it so personally? What do you care how the reviewers scored the phones? That's what I don't understand.

I love how you all are trying to make yourselves feel better when you are really regretting purchasing the 6 Plus. Between the delays in shipping being longer and longer, and pretty much all the reviews I read knocking it left and right, I don't blame you for trying to justify a mistake purchase. So happy I went with the 6!

They are calling it the "Plus" for a reason. Someone looking at scores along might think it is less of a device. But the only difference is size which can have benefits and drawbacks. If it had a worse camera or some feature then I can understand the lower rating. But size is a personal choice and not one that needs reviewing.

They are reviewing based on how useable it is as a "mobile" phone and with it's size it's becoming less of a "mobile" phone and more of a hybrid tablet that happens to do calls too. Let's face it, with the 6+ you won't be able to workout with that device, it's going to be a struggle to fit in a lot of pant/shorts pockets, unless they are oversized pockets (cargo shorts). Your argument for the 13 v/s 15 MBP is apples and oranges with the 6 v/s 6+, it isn't just one reviewer that is questioning the size of the 6+ it's pretty much every reviewer.

No, that's what the people here are lacking. It's a SmartPHONE. If it doesn't perform the critical function of being a phone well, then it has failed. Yes, it does lots of other things. But first and foremost, it must be a phone.

Semantics. Computers do far more than crunch raw data anymore what with their GUI. Advanced calculators do far more than that too.

But is your argument that this phone doesn't act properly as a phone? Because I don't follow if so.

Why are people surprised that the size of the 6 Plus is being scrutinized in reviews?

It's the single biggest difference between the regular iP6 (and certainly compared to the 4" devices)

Deserves to be discussed a lot in reviews - Including how usable or not the reviewer finds it to be.

People want to know if it's usable day to day as a phone. The reviewers are doing a good job of stating that it is not.

Apple already has tablets in multiple sizes... The iPhone is ... wait for it.. A PHONE!

Exactly. If you are on the fence about which way to swing and worry that the 6 is going to be awkward one handed, and a struggle in the front trouser pocket, it's probably going to help you to hear that in use, folk are finding these things a problem.

It's their job to review it as a phone. They are supposed to list everything, including the feel of the phone. It just so happens that size is one of those.

OP has absolutely no idea what he's talking about.

Yes. It is not portable enough. It is not comfortable to hold. It is not usable one-handed. Does it make phone calls? Yes. Can you hold it to make the phone calls while doing something else? No. It's a small tablet that makes phone calls. And yes, there is a difference.

I dont want to come off as having taken it personally. I'm well aware I can make a decision after my own usage. No one is forcing me to stick with my choice forever. That said, I just think that scoring a personal choice is silly. They can comment on what is best for them, but saying one is 5 stars and one is 4 stars due to that choice is silly, to me. I almost equate it to giving a lower rating to a different color.

I agree completely. Why do these reviewers constantly fill their reviews with their own personal opinions rather than with MY personal opinon?

I know i've never met them before but if a review doesnt say what I want about a product I've never used then it just makes me so darn mad. (Well, not mad enough to simply wait and try out the product myself because that just sounds crazy)

Reviewers are dumb. Me is smart. Me make angry threads because me knows whats best for world.

Well at least they are being consistent. They said the same thing about all the various android phablets over the years.

And if I dont care? My call / other use ratio is 20% call / 80% other stuff. I rarely use my phone one handed now. In the situations I do, I find it convenient. That said, a personal preference would be to have slightly more real estate, not carry an ipad mini around to read a book, among other benefits.

I think these reviewers scored their personal preference and usage vs. scoring the device.

Very immature comment. If anyone is making themselves feel better it is you based on the last sentence of your comment.

What I find so funny is because I don't agree I am immature. Have you seen all the negative reviews or are you still living in denial. Enjoy your post and complaining when it doesn't arrive on 9/19. I'll be enjoying my 6.

No I go what I wanted and am not in a panic like the rest of you. I wish everyone the best of luck on their purchases but don't slam reviewers because you do not agree. No one has even held the phone yet. Relax guys... it is just a phone.

Then you don't care. The 6+ is clearly the device for you. That doesn't make the reviewers who are giving their honest opinions morons.

Which one is a better phone? iPhone 6
Which one is a better phablet? iPhone 6 Plus

You must have forgotten phones of yesteryear lol. They were beasts.

Why can I not hold it and do something else while on a call? I did that when I was a kid using my mom's cell phone that was about the size of what the military uses out in the boonies for communication. Hold that sucker between your shoulder and ear and profit.

Your opinion is it is a small tablet. Great. y opinion is that iPhones basically always have been. I don't see a 5.5" phone doing the job of making phone calls even remotely less effectively than it's predecessors. And I come from having used the Note to do exactly that.
