I think it's a valid point though because this is the first time iPhones have been this big. I'm sure we'll see a ton of people return the 6+ because they just didn't expect how difficult a phone that big would be to use on a daily basis. So the reviewers are pointing that out as a potential con. The 6+ is even bigger than the 5.7" Note 4.

You must have forgotten phones of yesteryear lol. They were beasts.

Why can I not hold it and do something else while on a call? I did that when I was a kid using my mom's cell phone that was about the size of what the military uses out in the boonies for communication. Hold that sucker between your shoulder and ear and profit.

Your opinion is it is a small tablet. Great. y opinion is that iPhones basically always have been. I don't see a 5.5" phone doing the job of making phone calls even remotely less effectively than it's predecessors. And I come from having used the Note to do exactly that.

I'm happy that it works for you.

Or maybe you are just a moron writing a review on here of other peoples reviews? Hmmm...

Your immaturity just spews out doesnt it? Will you need to bring an extra pair of underwear when you touch that iPhone 6 for the first time?

you know... The physical size of an everyday phone actually does play into reviews.
Inconcievable!

I totally agree. The 6+ (and comparable sized phones) really create a new category, the phablet.

As mentioned by many, the top and bottom bezels really hurt the 6+ sizing.

* linked smilie. the new smilies suck lol

Yep.
But don't expect to see too many of them back here posting about how they were wrong on the size.
haha

Oh I am so immature. Is it because my OPINION does not jive with yours? Either way I really do not care. Unlike you I realize it is JUST A PHONE. There are more important things going on in my life and the world. Clearly this is all you have so good luck and I wish you the absolute best.

:)

What does it even matter, unless you're using these reviews to justify your purchase to yourself?

You know how big the Plus is. If you like that, get it. Who cares whether a reviewer personally likes or dislikes it?

My point exactly!

Huh? You are the one slinging names at people you don't know first (in the title of this very thread)?

Thank you!

Some of the stuff posted in this thread makes me wonder how the human race will survive.

Agree. I have always read this forum when previous phones have launched. This round everyone is just being nasty and so negative. Lighten up people.

The Galaxy phones are 5" ... but most reviewers also agree that the Note phones are too large as well. The 5.5" market is much smaller than the 4.7"-5" market.

Obviously, people make sacrifices and use the devices as phones. Does that mean that it appeals to the masses? No. Does that mean that the form factor is right for a phone? No.

Again, you want a phablet. Great. Enjoy your phablet. Many (arguably, most) other people want a phone.

Not that it matters, but I spend roughly 4 hours/day TALKING on my phone and the other 8 or so processing emails, calendar and goofing off. For me, it has to function as a phone... and that's the point. I get to have all of these devices in one portable easy to use device. When I want to read in bed or play Clash of Clans, I break out the iPad Mini. Again, for me. You have a different use case, and that's great. Apparently the reviewers have a use case that is more similar to mine than yours.

Don't feel slighted because they didn't appreciate the size of the device that you chose. Sheesh.

you're doing the exact same thing. justifying why the 6 is better than the 6+...different people have different needs. But the reviewers are going out comparing a Chevy Suburban to a family sedan and saying the Suburban is too big. Well duh....they aren't in the same class. People don't buy a 6+ if they are looking for a small phone....common sense.

Accept when youre a phablet which is a different class of device. Size really shouldnt make the score lower when youre working with better battery life and a better camera.

I'm a bit perplexed how you can call someone immature after calling reviewers morons. Citing the size and feasibility of both handling it and carrying it is far from moronic. In fact, for a brief moment I questioned whether I could handle the size of the 6+, in spite of how utterly sure I was that I would never have a phone that size. Turns out, sticking my checkbook in my pocket killed the lure of the 6+ right away for me. Does it make me a moron because I care about the size and have an opinion about it? The answer is no, by the way, not even a little.

Perhaps you can stop calling people morons and then turning around citing immaturity when someone does the same thing. FWIW, your post is better suited for twitter or a personal blog.

No, that's what the people here are lacking. It's a SmartPHONE. If it doesn't perform the critical function of being a phone well, then it has failed. Yes, it does lots of other things. But first and foremost, it must be a phone. There are other devices that already take care of those other things if that's what you're looking for... and they do it much better.

The Phablet idea is not good at either. It's not as good as an iPad Mini at being an iPad and it's not as good as a smaller phone at being a phone. I think that is the point that many of the reviewers are getting at.

not good for you...bc your jeans are probably too tight for you to fit the 6+ in...

:D

Every reviewer is scoring the 6+ negatively for size reasons. Do they ding the 15" MBP because it fits in fewer backpacks vs. the 13"?

They should review the phone not the form and let consumers pick what works for them given budget, usage, etc.

This is the first time Apple has given users a choice and I think the reviewers aren't quite sure how to handle it.

They don't ding a 15" MBP because no one is expecting to take ANY laptop with them 24/7...to the beach, night clubs, grocery shopping, etc. A laptop is not a personal item, it's a tool. A phone needs to fit somewhere on your person, and some of the negative Plus reviewers feel it does not. You don't get that, but they are the morons?

And if you don't see that the phone and the form are inseparable, then again, it's not the reviewers who are morons. You are basically asking for reviewers to review ios8 and nothing else.

And finally, if you think that a review is somehow preventing consumers from picking the size they want, again, the reviewers are not the morons.

People need to stop projecting their insecurities on these reviews. It's patently obvious that a lot of people who have seen the phone think it's too big, and a lot of people who preordered it are worried the ones who have seen it are right.

that's what the reviewers are lacking when doing these reviews.....

it's 2014, if you want just a phone...go by a flip phone. These are so much more than just a phone. So to sit back and say it's too big for a PHONE only....yes it is. But they don't state that if you use your device less and less like a phone and more like a little portable computer in your pocket...then it'd be great.

A flip phone? No people want a phone to make calls on, text, take quick pics, browse internet, listen to music. No one wants a flip phone.

I believe the reviewers are basically saying the 6+ is too big to use in the above capacity since it's to big. In other words..there has to be some limits on how big a phone is that you hold to your head correct? I mean would you hold a 40 inch screen to your head and use it as a phone? I realize that's and exaggeration, but scale it down and that's what they're saying.

Now if you say, "I don't want to make phone calls on my phone" then I suggest a tablet of whatever size floats your boat

It seems with all the trash talking that has been thrown around this forum that to hear that the 6 Plus is a not superior phone " in all ways" doesn't sit well with folks who chose that as their phone. If all the reviewers stated that the iPhone 6 was an inferior phone then all would be well correct? And all the people who purchased the smaller 6 would get what they deserve and a big "told ya so"!!!

Where was it ever stated that EVERYONE wanted a tablet size phone? When I read a review I'm interested in hearing how the phone works in everyday life. Is the size practical? I do still talk on my phone. For those who don't talk much the 6 Plus is a great choice. Bottom line is we have choices now. And both are excellent choices based on your use. Seems like the OP just wanted to say We Win!!!!

But the size of a laptop does play into its review. The form of an object is equally important as its function, especially when it is something that you carry around with you everywhere.

The fact is that a lot of people are used to using their iPhone one handed (And maybe don't even realize it) and most of them won't be able to do the same on the 6+. Not mentioning the size would be like saying that a Honda Civic and Accord are essentially the same car and not mention the interior space or different handling.

It is absolutely fair of them to point out if they were uncomfortable using the device over time; part of what a review is supposed to be is sharing personal experiences using a device to give other people an idea of what to expect.

Why are you taking it so personally? What do you care how the reviewers scored the phones? That's what I don't understand.

I think when people have high expectations of something and they are excited about buying it then a "professional reviewer" comes along and shoots down the product it can cause some frustration. I'm sure you understand that?

why does someone have to tell me what i need in a device? I RARELY make phone calls...same with all my friends. We text/email/facebook etc. Browsing the net, texting, watching videos, listening to music are main things i do on my device. Calls are rarely made. So i'm gonna base my phone on size bc of the 5% of time I actually use it to make calls?
