Is it necessary to get the mount with the charger? Or can you just plug in your existing charger to the phone?

I love my Proclip 5, but I'm not ready to shell out another 90 dollars because my 6 is slightly wider.

What I did was take mine apart and remove the slider in the middle (see pic). Now this will make it so the two sides are not connected, but I found when I screwed down the front again, there was enough tension for it to hold fine. Worse case scenario might involve a little gorilla tape to secure it, but it's working fine for me.

I did this to my old 5 mount and it works well! I have the plus with a bigger case on it. Hold the phone fine, it's just not as snug as before. Might keep it and save the $$$$, the mounts they are coming out with won't even work with my current case that I love so id have to get a universal mount anyways. If anyone wants a 5 pro clip mount with charger (removable) I'll sell mine for $30

Is this mod on the universal holder? My 5s holder has no moveable pieces.

iphone 6 plus mount

How many of you guys would trust your mounts on a sport bike??

Ram X grip maybe, I've been using the mountek in my Z4 with the ip5 with great results but a ip6+ on my K1300S is a whole nother story.. Suggestions??

Personally, I'll take the simplicity, elegance, mobility and versatility of the Airframe+ despite it's weaknesses over anything out in the market so far.

Clip it as a car mount take it out then into my pocket then use it as a stand to watch my videos / shows anywhere even during bedtime. Rinse. Repeat.

I don't like mine at all. Loosened up over time and now it slides up and down my vents. I am going ProClip this time because it is built to last longer IMO.

Thanks for the tip on removing the part of the mount so that it can be expanded. Too bad I'll have to find a different mount or case. The Apple Leather case is already scratched on the sides and bottom from just 3 days of being used in the mount. I should have known better.

I loved the Proclip for my iPhone 5. Pretty sure the above mod won't work for my 6 plus though!
I'll wait for the 6 plus with a case mount. In the meantime I'm able to sell my current holder. They might be expensive, but they do retain some of their value.

If you already have a ProClip, but not yet received your iPhone 6/6+, hold off ordering a new ProClip mount until you've received your phone and tried it.
I purchased my ProClip to use for my iPhone 3. I used the same mount for my iPhone 4S, and I just got an iPhone 6 Plus and it fits just fine (naked phone). Opened all the way as wide as it will go and it was too loose. Had to tighten it up a bit to hold the phone, so it may still work with a thin case, like the Apple cases.

I have the Proclip for iPhone 5, and it works fine with iPhone 6. Just adjust the width via screws.

I bought one of these and I don't like it at all.
1. I can't mount and remove my iPhone one handed
2. The arms presses the buttons of not mounted carefully
3. The arms can turn around 50 degrees to each side when phone is mounted.

Crap

FYI, they just shipped the padded holder for case-less iPhone 6 that I preordered, so they seem to be in stock now even though the web page has not been updated yet. Loved this type of holder for my previous 5S, since you can simply slide in the phone with one hand without fumbling around. ;)

ProClip iPhone 6 Plus Car Mount

Got my pro clip for my 6 today. This is the one that is for small and medium sized cases and has the lighting cable attached. I normally don't spent $100 on the charging cradle and get just the holder and use my own lightning cable but now with the "Hey Siri" option, it makes it very safe and convenient for driving.

I love the padded one but I went with a case this time so I had to order the abs plastic one :(. These are the best car mounts hands down!

Since it says the one to be used with a case is for small to medium sized cases, something like the Speck Candyshell or Incipio DualPro will be ok to use. Am I correct in assuming this? Messing around with Apple Maps this morning on my 6+ and realized that it would be a viable alternative to using my Garmin gps unit I've been using. So this mounting system has definitely sparked my interest.

Now if only Apple Maps could include speed limit data along with the navigation I would be golden....as it appears Garmin's app doesn't get updated too often. But I guess I could go back to actually paying attention to road signs more often. lol

Does it really just sit right there? To use the maps, you'd have to look like down at the floor to see your phone! You should be using at least a vent-car mount..

I have Navigation in my car, so I never need/want to stare at the screen when driving. I suppose that is where vent/window/dashboard mounts come in handy. However, when at a red light or parked, I love having the mount by the center console as it allows me to rest my elbow comfortably and type. Every car is different, so you have to find what works for you. This is why ProClip is awesome as they offer multiple options.

Hey man, I love ProClip mounts! They are overpriced, but good mounts! I'm disappointed to hear that my current setup wont work with the iPhone 6 I ordered. :( I have the same mount as the one in the picture.

I've been searching around for case suggestions and found something a bit interesting.

Check it out:

What's interesting is the mount design these cases have:

So, what I decided to try, was to order those magnetic mounts and then take apart my current setup, stick on the magnet mount and see how well it works. I think it'll be neat because it'll just sorta float there.

Thoughts?

I love this minimalist / simplistic design. I would seriously worry though about the magnet not being strong enough to hold a 6+ over a good bump. Anyone have any experience with these?

I ended up ordering mine for my 6 plus this past Monday, figuring that my question about cases I should be ok with my DualPro case. If not then I'll just find another case.

Has anyone else besides the one or two people that have already stated in this thread received their order or at least a shipping notification yet? My account at proclip just says something along the lines of 1 to 2 weeks before they start shipping pre-orders....but a couple people here have said theirs already shipped/received.

I received my "6 plus with a case" holder yesterday.
