Which mounting base is that? I see a bunch of different ones on their site, but not a custom? I used to mount to the dash, but the Plus is going to cover the auto screen.

Does the mounting base snap on or is adhesive required? I also have a BMW.

Got my pro clip for my 6 today. This is the one that is for small and medium sized cases and has the lighting cable attached. I normally don't spent $100 on the charging cradle and get just the holder and use my own lightning cable but now with the "Hey Siri" option, it makes it very safe and convenient for driving.Image

I love the padded one but I went with a case this time so I had to order the abs plastic one :(. These are the best car mounts hands down!

They actually don't make that one anymore. It was a console mount that was made specifically for my model. Now they sell adjustable console mounts where you have to measure. They snap under the side of console and snap Into the gear box and also have adhesive. It's a perfect fit. I would imagine the adjustable consoles work just as well. Here they are:

What's the difference with the mounts with and without the swivel adapter? Does it just somehow hold the cable from bending? Why pay $15 extra? Is it worth it? I often charge my phone in my car.

They recommend if your phone mount has a tilt swivel not to get the console mount with one.

Thanks. I did just order one with the swivel, and the console mount:(. But by the pics of where it gets mounted I don't see it being an issue.

I liked that the swivel adapter holds the cable in place even when the phones not there. Hopefully I'll be ok.

I also saw they say no case/no skin. Would it actually work with a Slickwraps skin or is it that tight that it won't?

I love Proclips. I have been using them since I had the old Blackberry for Nextel.

I have used the ones where I could slip the cable in through the bottom which plugs directly into the USB in my car, picked up the shorter USB to Lighting and it worked perfect for my 5/5S. I spent good money on my car, and good money on my phones. It is worth it to pay a little more for a solution that custom fits both and work perfect together. Right now I am using an adjustable dock that I used for my iPhone 4, it opens wide enough to slip it in. I want the one custom made for my 6 Plus and Apple leather case that I can plug in.

@JJK454SS: The fit may be slightly tight. Try it, if it doesn't work which has happened to me, so long as you haven't marked the dock up, they should be willing to exchange.

Thanks. I'm not too worried about keeping the Slickwraps, of it doesn't fit, and I like the mount, I'll just skip the Slickwraps.

i personally prefer the proclip device holders paired with a panavise vehicle mount. they are metal and a bit sturdier in my experience.

Thanks, those do look much better. After seeing how the Proclip attaches to a Honda Element I wasn't too impressed, the Panavise looks much better.

Could I bother asking for pictures? My aunt has that car- thinking Christmas...

I haven't gotten it yet. But the install video on Proclios website says they are tension fit. But if you look at the Element instructions it's held onto the vent and the bottom edge of the trim around the stereo by adhesive tape. And it looks like it would possibly block the stereo.

The other one attaches to the screws that hold the stereo in. Maybe a little more work but seems like it would be much more secure. And it holds it more to the side so hopefully won't block the stereo.

Any other good options for the iPhone holder part? I got the car mount coming from panavise but proclip is backordered on the device holder.

Hey man, I love ProClip mounts! They are overpriced, but good mounts! I'm disappointed to hear that my current setup wont work with the iPhone 6 I ordered. :( I have the same mount as the one in the picture.

I've been searching around for case suggestions and found something a bit interesting.

Check it out:

What's interesting is the mount design these cases have:

So, what I decided to try, was to order those magnetic mounts and then take apart my current setup, stick on the magnet mount and see how well it works. I think it'll be neat because it'll just sorta float there.

Thoughts?

wow those look amazing

Received my ProClip mount for the iPhone 6 Plus

Took me a few days to understand how to tighten it for the phone with a small-medium case (the Apple Silicone is what I'm using) but finally mounted solid and strong today. I'm happy! I had the car mount for my iPhone 5S and so used the same car mount. I still have the holder for my 5S, but don't see how people are widening it enough for a 6 plus.

The tilt and swivel is really useful particularly on the 6 Plus - whole lot more information in landscape view.

I usually use WAZE in the DC area as their crowd sourced traffic info is good. I don't have much confidence in the Apple Maps, as there still are some errors around me which I've pointed out 10 times and then gave up. I also have Navigon which I bought years ago. As long as the Fresh Maps keeps updating as frequently as it does (paid for that a few years ago too), I'll keep it as a back-up.

Yes I have this one before.. it looks good on my iPhone 5S but I opt to change this time for my iPhone 6, just to try other brands also

I'm still looking for something available like the Proclip, but something I can get now. I jus got the dash mount for my car, I just need the iPhone mount that will attach to it.

Any idea if a Rammount will attach to the Panavise dash mount?

I agree that PanaVise is the way to go for the vehicle mount part, sturdy metal, plus they have a bracket for both of our Subarus.. but as far as the ProClip phone holder..

For the iPhone 6 Plus, the ProClip web site says: "Custom adjust the holder for the best fit (not spring loaded)".

So if it's not spring-loaded and is permanently adjusted to fit the sides of the phone, how do you remove your phone when you leave your car? Do you just adjust it so that it barely touches, allowing it to slide out? Wouldn't it be prone to falling out in horizontal orientation? .. confused ..

I really like the ProClip mounting solutions. But, the vehicle mount and iPhone holder together cost almost $70!

Expensive, but I wish I did it sooner. I'm loving it. I do wish the Panavise was slightly heavier duty, it vibrates a little which I think wouldn't happen if the steel was thicker.

Yeah, the Panavise vehicle mount is located at a better location for my vehicle. But, the single attachment point is prone to movement. Even though it is made of metal, it isn't as secure as the ProClip ABS one.

I'm still hesitant to get one due to cost.

I think the single attachment point will be fine, it's the gauge of the steel that allows it to vibrate. It's not bad though, I'm very happy with the setup. I thought the same thing about the cost, but I wish I did it sooner.

Ive had a pro clip holder in my car since I got my first iPhone (3g). Fits greats with the 6. I got the adjustable mount so as the size of the phones change, i just have to adjust the width of the holder.

Mine wouldn't work for the 6 plus though.

I was afraid of putting it in my dash, but its not that bad. Not sure what will happen to it when I get a new car though.

To answer my own question.. there are two holder styles by ProClip, one that you adjust to allow the phone to slide in and out and grabs the phone by the sides (w/ or w/o charging dock - [demo video]) ... and another that is non-adjustable and grabs the phone top-to-bottom via spring-loaded clip (w/ charging dock - [demo video]).

So new question: Which type is better?
