Looks incredible with the black face. If only Apple would let the buyer decide what they wanted...needs black Apple logo and charging port, in my opinion.

You do understand you are not the cosmetic police? Looks are subjective and I think white looks horrible on the face of any phone, scamsung included.
Yeah, and I expressed my subjective view that black/red looks as terrible as black/gold just as you have now done the same about a white/any color on any phone.

Who knows, I may dislike the black front more BUT it would have been nice to have it since it was my initial preference and I despised the white front to begin with.

AHHH! That photo of a bare iPhone on concrete is triggering me!!

I'm curious why the left half of the concrete is blurred, but the right is not? Not sure what I'm looking at. Doesn't look like a real photo.

It honestly looks like something Samsung or another handset maker would do. It's as awful looking as a gold/black combo would be.

I initially thought this was a good idea, and then my first impressions after seeing it gave me the opposite feeling (un-Apple), but then it's growing on me, with the devil on my shoulder telling me it would be "bad-ass / cool" of Apple to be delivering this type of colour scheme. Apple has become rather wimpy and boring lately. Nothing bold is coming out of the company. They stood on stage hailing this cool new Mac Pro design, and then let it whither on the vine for years... I've lost faith.

The blurred concrete is actually the floor, which is further away, the in focus part is the shelf the iPhone is resting on. Must admit it does look very odd at first.

Can't rehash old kit and pass it off as new in an attempt to distract from the fact there's nothing for another year but still charge you more anyway cos you're buying the name not the product anymore .... my ass!

Does one really have to swap the logic board? When changing any screen with a Touch ID sensor u just need to swap out the home button so the same sensor remains paired with the logic board - although I'm not sure if u can remove it on the 7 models. Guess not, or he would have done that...
But then you'd have a white home button.

Essentially, the OP is just changing out the red back of black iPhone.

This proves Apple know more about design than many people on this forum.

Which would include you in your own post. In fairness, Apple has engineers and a dedicated team for research and development for hardware. You're on a forum based on various views And opinions. I don't believe anyone here has to have a design background to subject what would sell or be appreciated for hardware. After all, the consumer is the one purchasing the product in supporting Apple's financial interests.

Personally I like the white one more.

It looks 1000% better than the white front. Even Samsung has decided to use a black front on all their S8 models. Apple is still stuck in the same front color of the last 10 years. Apple never likes to experiment outside of their comfort zone. White is just a butt ugly front color.
what do you mean Apple has white phones, Apple had all of its phones have black faces, so forgive me for noting that you think Apple only make white faces, it's a limited edition iphone, you don't have to buy it, there's jet black, matte black.

Doesn't matter if if looks good, it looks un-Apple like.

What I mean is, it's fine if you want to do this and own this but it's crazy to think Apple would have actually done this themselves.

Not too un-Apple like after all. This was my favorite iPod.

That wasn't a (Product)RED product. These were and were red and white which are the (Product)RED colors.

This isn't just a red phone, it's a (Product)RED phone, hence why it's red and white.

I suspect if there is enough interest, someone will offer a glass cover that covers the white bands at top and bottom with black. Not as elegant but a lot cheaper.

It seems like I'm the only person in the world who thinks the black and red looks crap.

In all seriousness here - considering the black colors were the most popular, maybe Apple had an excess of white faces from the less popular colors. Hence, red phones get a white face.

Only apple would think of combining white with gold/rose gold and only a brain-dead fanboy would actually find that an attractive combination.

I agree. I have a gold iPad Air 2 and it looks ok to me, but black and gold would be an amazing combination. Why they won't do it... I have no idea.
