Same brightness as the intel one and hdr is same brightness barely noticeable any change; also the promotion doesn’t work on main things like safari so won’t say it’s amazingSo far this display knocks it out of the park, probably something buggy with Safari, but hands down the best display I have ever seen on a laptop.
Then I'd check your eyes. The new displays are noticeably brighter, sharper (as the DPI has increased) and mine gets down to near true black when displaying blacks.Just like the iPhone 13 pro they messed up pro motion and still waiting on a bug fix they promised like reachability still lags like 60hz this is the new apple they hype things and release half baked products, this won’t be fixed anytime soon maybe never, the screen is worse than my intel i9, it’s not any brighter and actually has less contrast and hdr doesn’t go any brighter then the intel one, thanks apple you saved me £3300
Yes blacks are better but no I spent hours with my M1 max and intel i9 16” comparing and both with max brightness and auto brightness off there was like zero difference on normal viewing and with hdr on you tube again it was slightly better but not brighter maybe just slightly; I’m a videographer and display calibrater and I know my stuffThen I'd check your eyes. I am about as Apple fanboy as it gets and next to my iPad I cannot tell a difference in brightness or color contrast. These are expensive machines and it’s a huge disappointment to have things broken out of the gate. Then I'd check your eyes. Exactly my intel 16” looks identical if anything better white balanceI am about as Apple fanboy as it gets and next to my iPad I cannot tell a difference in brightness or color contrast. These are expensive machines and it’s a huge disappointment to have things broken out of the gate.
I'm stupid, but this is slowed down footage right?
Yes Safari is 60fps. See video description for details.
Yet the "start page" seems scrolling at 120fps. Chrome, Edges seem like 60fps too.
Nicely done. Edge is 120Hz at least for me after the 12.0.1 MacOS update. (maybe it was before - not sure). Noticeably smoother than Safari ATM.

It’s slowed down but with proper 120hz you would not see that type of gap between frames.I'm stupid, but this is slowed down footage right?

Can someone record what it 'should' look like, the same way? It’s slowed down but with proper 120hz you would not see that type of gap between frames.
No stutter for me either on my base 14 pro. I have my latest iPad Pro with Promotion sitting here next to me with the same site open (this exact forum) and I am not really noticing a difference at all scrolling them both simultaneously. I've tried it with Chrome also, side by side and full-screen switching back and forth and I just can't see a difference. I do have Promotion enabled and no motion reduction settings are active in Accessibility. The screen is very smooth and resolution looks very crisp and sharp. Loving this machine so far.No stutter on my 14” 10/10/16
It's just gonna look like every single 60fps/120fps comparison video..Can someone record what it 'should' look like, the same way?
Everyone is saying safari is capped at 60hz and looks identical to older macs so not sure why you’re isnt like thatNo stutter for me either on my base 14 pro. Some people just can’t tell the difference. That’s all there is to it.Everyone is saying safari is capped at 60hz and looks identical to older macs so not sure why you’re isnt like that
Not sure either... maybe I just don't notice it with my 51 year-old eyes. However, when taking it out of the box and firing it up for the first time, it looked noticeably sharper than my previous M1 Air. I even made a little 'oooooh' sound.Everyone is saying safari is capped at 60hz and looks identical to older macs so not sure why you’re isnt like that
Its a true @2x resolution thats why, the M1 Air was at a ~@1.7x odd resolution so it was not as sharpNot sure either... maybe I just don't notice it with my 51 year-old eyes. Well, I was thinking in the same slow mo as the posted vid. It's just gonna look like every single 60fps/120fps comparison video..
yeah safari is capped at 60hz shockingI'm not experiencing stuttering, but despite my display settings set to ProMotion this is appearing as a 60hz display. My iPad Pro looks much smoother than scrolling in either Safari or Chrome on my MBP. I'm on 12.0.1

No way you're videographer/display calibrator and claim theres no difference between your i9 SDR display and HDR one. Would suggest not using YouTube as your testing method and play an actual HDR/Dolby Vision movie from one of the streaming services. If you can't tell 1600/1000 nits vs 500nits on the i9 then...Yes blacks are better but no I spent hours with my M1 max and intel i9 16” comparing and both with max brightness and auto brightness off there was like zero difference on normal viewing and with hdr on you tube again it was slightly better but not brighter maybe just slightly; I’m a videographer and display calibrater and I know my stuff
