That's exactly it, when I block AV1, it shows up only 4K HDR in Chrome, when I unblock / refresh, 8K HDR appears. I have to find that video someone posted asking if it crashed the MBP, that one definitely crashed my mbp when I tried to play it. If you have example videos you'd like me to try just paste them in. However I have no such extension on Safari, it doesn't even give me the choice probably to what you mentioned.

I'll check more videos, Chrome feels better? but I always thought chrome felt snappier on scroll in 12.0.1 than Safari.

Oh. There are videos on the thread which said things about this right? The thing to do is try your hard to crash it when playing 4k HDR on Safari and chrome. If it doesn't crash then it is fixed !! . Might consider going to the beta when my MBP arrives!! And then removing the beta profile so that im at least at the "more stable" build lol. And I think the time they release it to the public I should still get it

I think other bugs on Monterey is the trackpad tap to click is sometimes missing the click

I thought my 14” MBP was broken. Sometimes the tap itself doesn’t register other times there’s a delay.

Yeah on the Monterey forum, there is a thread about it. It's been happening for some times now. They haven't fixed it afaik
