If it is 1GB doesnt that pretty much mean no split screen multitaksing for 6 plus if it comes to ios 8 or 9? Or at least a lesser version of it

this cracks me up. It's going to be 1GB ram. Do you really think apple would essentially give the finger to ppl buying the 6? By in essence future proofing one phone and not the other? Makes no sense. The extra GB Is nice but by no means required..

It isn't giving anyone the finger. A bigger screen, and higher resolution takes more processing power, so it will likely take a faster processor and more RAM just to run the same as the 6. Higher specs don't always mean higher performance. Higher specs could just keep things even.

Also. The iphone 6 plus name may not just be for the screen size. They never said it was named just for that. It could have been because of better camera and internals. But who knows.

Nah. The A8 will (hopefully) be clocked higher, because it NEEDS to be to drive all those extra pixels. Think iPad 2 vs iPad 3, where the iPad 3 'looked' better due to retina, but was thicker, ran very hot and performance wise was inferior to the iPad 2 in some cases.

No doubt the 6+ will look more gorgeous, with that larger, more retina screen. But it's going to run warmer than the 6, and I'd expect performance to be no better than the 6, perhaps inferior, a la iPad 2 vs iPad 3.

It's been rumored that the A8 runs at 1.4GHz, compared the the A7's 1.3GHz.
