Most republicans don't like trump, but will take trump if it means not having a Democrat president who pushes for socialism, open borders, bending over to mionority groups and screwing over the majority of the population.

“Socialism”, because those Scandinavian countries are such horrible places to live.

“Open borders”, who exactly is calling for that? Just another dumb scare tactic.

“Bending over for minority groups”? What exactly does this drivel mean? Looks like just another dumb bumper sticker slogan you heard on some wacko right wing radio show.

“Screwing over the majority of the population”, you mean like the Republican Party and the trump regime is doing? If you’re not filthy rich, you’re being screwed over by trump and the GOP, whether you voted for the criminals or not. And if you’re a woman, you’re being screwed over even worse, especially in Stone Age states like Alabama.

Re-think your life, get an education. Please.

Time for YOUR lesson, my friend, on the myth of Scandinavian socialism: https://fee.org/articles/the-myth-of-scandinavian-socialism/

Open borders are advocated by the left as a political wedge to increasing voting rolls, thus their stance on not stopping illegal immigration by flooding the southern border with whomever comes across. And if the photo-or shows tears, women, or babies, all the better to pull at heartstrings.

The rest of your rant and pontificating is utter drivel and not even logical enough on any level of rational common sense to argue.

And to the other post, no, most conservatives DO like Trump and the administration’s policies, even if tariffs have a short term negative affect on anything, as long as China gets in line and keeps America the stronger nation economically and politically over China. The last time I checked, we don’t live in a globalist one-world order, and I for one am glad for that.

@RudySnow

From your link : "The Nordic model is far from socialist."

Says it all, but.....

..... what every democratic candidate proposes is still far to the right/capitalistic side of the and Scandinavian country and most of Europe. Yet you have GOPers and other right wingers calling them socialist. Maybe you should point your lesson in a different direction:eek:

Posts like yours are reasons why I've had to distance myself from the political left.

Keep up the good work, though.

So the Dems advocate a “mild” socialism? LOL! Any coercion of force by a government on its people for political or financial gain (i.e., green new deal distribution of wealth) is socialism by its very nature. What other direction can I take to make you understand that? It’s too safe in your snowflake chapel of fellow sheep.

You clearly don't have all the facts about China. Even Tom Friedman now agrees with Trump on China. Look up the "Death By China" videos on youtube if you want to be informed as to their true intentions.

I think all the big countries have their own intentions including the US. The US is no exception to the rest. US also wants military rule/dominance over all other countries. Wants USD and commodities to be dealt and ruled by USD. Wants all banking and finance to only go through their own banking system. If the US could want this then so could Europe,Asia,Middle East and other South American countries as well from their National Security point of view for their own National Security interests as well.

There is nothing wrong with protecting your own National Security interests but there is something wrong with preventing others from doing it as well.;)

@RudySnow

So Scandinavia is not socialistic. Dems are less socialist than Scandinavia.

But it's also all "socialism by nature"

mkay.........

I’m not sure what lessons or arguments to the advocation of socialism a historically-educated German citizen can really teach the world, so i’ll walk away smiling at your willful ignorance on the matter because, well, freedom and all. Mkay? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

All governments use force for political or financial gain. Don’t believe it? Try not paying your taxes. See how long until your pay check is forcibly withheld.

All democratic governments also follow “socialist” practices of redistributing wrath. Welfare, social security, old age pensions...subsidizing industries such as farmers...

The “Dems are socialist” lie is just something propagated by right wing koolaid drinkers. Anyone who tells you different is trying to sell something.

No, anyone who argues against the truth of the current far-left leanings of the Democrat Party is HIDING something. Well they’re pretty transparent, so they’re not hiding that well.

And I agree on your redistribution of wealth comment This is done through federal taxation. The progressives of the Wilson era are to blame for this, as the country was previously funded by—gasp!—TARIFFS.

History and truth aren’t strange bedfellows after all.

Far left? Once again that is just political propoganda and scare mongering. Anywhere else in the civilized world, the dems would be considered right wing. The USA hasnt has a far left party since the 1930s.

An interesting take on it here:

https://www.quora.com/Why-doesnt-th...-S-politics-become-skewed-so-far-to-the-right

Tariffs on the other hand are not a left or right leaning concept. The big concern is a repeat of the Smoot–Hawley Tariff effect, which is thought to have helped prolong the Great Depression.

I agree with this decision. Make more products in the United States. I love the hypocrites that buy cheap Walmart chinese junk and then turn around and complain about income equality. If you buy items from Walmart, Target, Amazon etc you are part of the problem. The trade between China and the US is definitely a one sided deal and most of our income is sent over there by buying up their cheap products. The US doesn't produce much of anything anymore.

Where we live it's more of an option. In many places the WalMart is the only place within 30 miles to buy "stuff".

The Smoot–Hawley act was passed during a massive overall economic slowdown. Unlike today, the economy is much stronger, and today’s tariffs don’t apply to every import from every country, and so far the retaliatory tariffs are on a small percentage of commodities. We are in a much stronger position now than we were in the Great Depression.

Stopped long ago? ROTFLMAO!!!!! :p IP ripoff is still alive and well by hook, crook, or contract. You honestly think that China joined the WTO and stopped? Wow :rolleyes:
[doublepost=1557935606][/doublepost]

Please :rolleyes:

How about coming up with a real opposing candidate?
Between both parties, the top three candidates are three old white guys.
One in bed with the Chinese, one ready to make the US into a Socialist Society, and the last trying to makeover the US via reality tv.

IP rip off is still alive yes, and only the Chinese do it right. That's why the American courts have crickets churping. Apple and Qualcomm just got out of the courtroom, Samsung and Apple are still clawing at each other

The prices are already outrageous... what's another 14%? :rolleyes:

We've always upgraded every two years and then every year the past couple of times. However, I'm thinking our iPhone X models are looking great right about now.

Biggest concern is not that they will rise if warranted, rather they will rise because someone sees a way to garner additional profits. Already seeing this in some retail chains.

Preventing/impeding others from advancing in advanced technology is a form of protecting natural security.

China steals between 200-600 billion in IP every year from the US. They are doing this for their national security, and we have to protect ours.

This should be obvious stuff if you've studied history.

In the end people will pay buy or upgrade less often is what I reckon. Perhaps skip a couple of cycles and this will show in Apple's quarterly earnings when they report earnings and sales numbers just wait and see. Those that wait 1 year may wait 2 and those that wait 2 may wait 3. When you are in laptop computer price category range 3-4 years is possible before upgrading.

As I figured..

China explains their version of the trade war and tariffs from Trump. For those that understand Chinese this is quite good. He pretty much destroyed Trump. The end results are that they would like an agreement and are willing to negotiate for an agreement but due to what Trump has said and done recently they would rather not do anything and just let it runs its course. Their point of view is the consequences for the US and American companies along with other companies that are also in China from other parts of the world would be quite bad.

When the US took the case of currency manipulation to the World Bank and IMF they lost the case

I can't understand chinese, will take your word for the content

but if China's basically taking the "we'll just wait till Trump is gone" approach, than that sounds more like what the rest of the world is basically thinking when dealing with the US right now.

even in Canada, we're not trying to push any new trade/negitiations with Trump/USA. and have stated "presidents change" and several have said we'll just wait and see what the next president brings.

Trump has very little international good will left with allied nations. they do not want to deal with him. the only nations who seem perfectly willing to extend a hand are countries like NK and Saudi. Regimes with little regard for human rights, and all know they can get what they want out of Trump
