I'd be surprised if they did do this. In this day and age of using the phone for shooting pictures, videos and lots of apps. Its kind of crazy not to make the 32GB model the base model, but I'm not holding out hope.

That's kind of why I was hoping for the increased storage on the base model. My 4S was 16GB and I had to clean it up once in a while due to iMessages filling up with short videos and photos, as well as the Photos app and Photo Stream taking up space.

I have a 32GB 5s now, and I'm doing very well with the added storage.

Not only is it cheap, but anything lower than 32 GB is a pain for the customers. You should not even offer the choice of such a painful experience. Buying an iPhone should mean you get a premium experience. 8 GB or 16 GB does not cut it for a lot of people. Especially 8 GB is just cruel.
my sister enjoys her 8gb iPhone 4 so you can't speak for.anyone.

People complaining about 16gb being offered amaze me. You have a choice to buy a higher capacity so I don't get. Not everyone is willing to spend $300 for 32gb that they don't need.

I'll most likely go with the smallest size available. I had a 32GB model that I never got half full, even though I really tried.

I take no photos, videos. I almost never send images and text messages take no space.

The only thing left is music. I got about 16GB of music, but I can use spotify for most of my collection. I only listen to less than 4GB anyways.

The iPhone just costs to much to justify more storage. The base model costs about $920~1000 and every upgrades adds another $135~150

Staying with 16 gigs. I rarely use my iPhone for any apps these days except for making phone calls, texting and emailing and linked in app.

So 16 gig will do me plenty. :) As it has done so far in the past with all over Apple iPhone models i have had. :)

32GB. Currently have a 16GB and always find myself having to delete things in order to make more space.

Same with my mom. She has a 8gb iPhone 4 and she is completely fine. She may only have 2-3 additional apps on her phone other than the stock apps, and she doesn't store any music on there. For her, 8gb is more than enough.

Sure, for some people it's no problem.

However, if you buy an Apple phone, you buy a premium product. A premium product should be premium in every way. 8 GB is not premium, it's cruel and mediocre. Some people don't mind mediocrity despite having paid an 'Apple fee'. Good for them. However, it does bother me and lots of other people.

Sure, you can choose larger phones to avoid mediocrity. However, personally I think Apple should not even offer the choice of mediocrity. Owning and iPhone should mean you own a good phone which is more than decent in every imagineable way. That means at least 32 GB.

please it's a phone so I don't get what's premium about it, and how storage capacity affects that supposed premium. Each capacity functions the same as the other. While I would not touch a 8gb phone, a lot of people would. Like I said before Apple offers different storage capacities for the customer to choose from.

16GB. I refuse to further contribute to Apple's profit margins. Same technology with less storage for $100-$200 less, I can live with it.

Haha I kind of have the same mentality. Apple will wait as long as they possibly can before pushing the standard to 32 GB because they know they can get away with it since people will pay for the upgrade. That's where they make their money, it's like Pizza franchises that try to get you to buy breadsticks, chicken wings, and a soda. They make their money there, not with the pizza.

If you genuinely need more than 16 GB that's fine, but I think more people can get away with 16 GB than they realize. Keep music on cloud storage like Google Music, upload photos directly to your computer after taking them through a service like Dropbox, do not install unnecessary apps, and it should be more than enough.

I have a 16 GB 5 today. My next will be a maxed out m

Oops, add model.

32GB is the sweet spot for me. Before I had kids 16GB was enough. Now I need more storage to keep a few movies stored on my phone. Fortunately I've found that the Disney Movies Anywhere app files are much smaller than iTunes downloads otherwise I'd probably need 64GB.

have over a 1TB of mp3's in 320kbps
would prefer a 512gb or max if they offered
could careless about spotify or any streaming service....i have all the music i'll like to listen to in @ least 320kbps

----------

2014....we're begging hoping wishing for 128gb :(
would be nice if they also included FM tuners (listen to talk radio)
don't want to always use my cellphone web data
limited guest wifi access @ work + don't want to rely on wifi
for the $$$$ 512gb + fm tuner should be standard

thing is Apple know that very few people would so why make one now

I will take 64 or 128 GB as the photo sizes are using more and more storage for each one.
Right now with the iPhone 5s... 32 GB is hitting me.

If available I'd pay the extra and get 128 gb.
A 128 gb 5.5" iPhone might be able to replace my 64 gb iPhone 5S, 160 gb iPod Classic, and 16 gb iPad rMini.
I'd sell the 5S and iPad, and the IPod Classic would live on in my car.

I believe that's the reason why Apple hasn't released a higher capacity iPhone.
