My humble predictions of a Mac Pro from early spring 2013, with an iMac besides it.

Close, but no cigar. It was the cylinder Pro that came out, and a tapered edge iMac 2013.

At 2015 I thought it was time for a Mac Pro upgrade - boy was I wrong for a few years. But that would be the stackable idea some have fantasized even in this thread. Thunderbolt stacks, short cables, maybe even optical. I don't think it's a good idea, though I did have fun with the pictures.

New Mx Mac Pro Mini:
Maybe it is a Mac Mini Pro (you get the idea from iMac vs iMac Pro), something they represent us first this year, and a real Pro is still coming later on, next year or so. Still an upgradable Mac Pro, one can only hope.

I would predict, if this thing really comes out 2021, its gonna have 12 graphics cores and 12 cpu cores (4+8) to start with. Maybe max at 16 cores. Probably both of them will, with maybe a little bit of variations to separate the models (artificially). And it's all SoC, and soldered storage. 16 to 64 RAM. No PCIe slots obviously, but maybe a slight chance of a M.2 slot on that cube 3 inside of it. All current M1 ports x2.

But then again, that's not what I'd want personally. Just taking my wild guesses.

ps. I don't really care in what color they offer those, as long as it's gray.

If Apple didn't glue most of their devices within an inch of their life it would be nice to see aftermarket 3rd party plastic shells which you could replace the metal ones with. It would be interesting to see Apple release a couple of iMacs in the traditional transparent plastic colors, maybe Bondai Blue and a (product) Red version just to see how well they sold. I quite like the green one.

The only problem with releasing multiple "non standard" colours on expensive tech is it can affect the resale prices of the more "unpopular" colours.

I'm hoping the new iMac will have something better than the current iMac pivot to raise and lower the screen. Maybe it could inherit the overpriced hinge from the XDR?

The G4 iMac had so much screen articulation and it looked beautiful, if only we could have that back. :)

This guy's record is so much more miss than hit. Nearly 10 months ago he told us the new Apple TV "project Neptune" was ready to go at any time yet there has been no new Apple TV. This guy probably has a source somewhere on the supply chain but he's not to be trusted - a stopped clock is correct at least twice a day. I could make up my own Mac Rumors based on likely product releases and I'd probably have a better track record than this guy.
78% hit according to Apple Track:

I considered Prosser as reliable because everybody seemed to bash him seriously, but, man... the AppleTV that was "ready to launch" last year... what happened to it?

Said this, those pale colors are awful. If you want color, use color -like the older iMac did-, and not that pale shy thing.

Also, nothing like the white finishing of the G5 iMac. White is the best color for Macs. They insist in silver, dark, whatever, but the perfect one is white, by far.

quite a few on here seem to bash him when he's as dependable as most leakers you will find. yes Mark Gurman is the best but Jon still gives good leaks and even Kuo can be hit and miss but many trust him

The devices are pretty carefully designed with the metal acting as a heat radiator to keep internal temperatures low. If you replaced it with plastic you'd expect performance drops.

I didn't say anything to discount that your daughters.. wives.. girlfriends or any number of girls/women might want a pink model or that many men wouldn't want one.

But this quote, frames it as: pink is added for all the women and only the women:
Nonsense, I never said such a thing. It was not meant to be a negative thing. I know it is a popular color with many people, but it’s good that a computer is being sold in a color that is very popular with women.
Let’s not try to turn everything into something negative. it’s something good.

I mean even if we disregard that it's kind of sexist to assume women and girls (those are the normal terms we use for human adult/child females respectively, by the way) would want pink, or that others wouldn't... all I hear when I read that is:

That was never the intention. You hear what you want to hear. It’s good marketing of a popular color with men and women but it is certaily very popular with women. Can’t read everything as automatically negative.

I guess with iPad innards, the iMac might as well represent an enlarged iPad. Touch, anyone? 😅

Reading “stacked Mac Minis” I was really hoping to see a render looking like actual, stacked Minis. That would have looked sweet 😄

I like the colors of the iMacs – I can see how they would fit in certain contexts.
Absolutely. For some reason my wife HAD to get a red toaster for the kitchen to match her decor.
People like their living spaces to look a certain way. Just liker gamers LOVE their RGB lights flickering on their keyboards and rigs.
People especially love personalizing their living spaces and their fashion. It’s good business.

Expect other desktop makers jumping on this trend. Though sales of desktop computers is not a very big market.

I predict the next iMac will be made of computer and will contain electrons that move
Nah, Apple has always thought differently, right...? So I think Apple will violate the laws of physics and in fact, the electrons will not move. It will still work though, because of magic.

Adding color is a good idea. Especially brilliant is the pink one. It’s going to be a must-have with many females.
Who is to say that? I've seen plenty of men wear pink shirts. In fact, pink was traditionally a masculine colour years ago. Not sure when the change occurred, but who cares? Pink is just light red, and nothing wrong with red, then?

Bring this on. Colors, new designs, I'm for all of it only for the ooh-and-ahh of it.

However, I hope they don't break the Mac Pro like they did in 2013... but I'm not holding my breath.

Thankfully, I'm no longer in the market for any of these.

Handheld computing devices are all I'll need (at home) for the foreseeable future.

Hit-and-miss leaker Jon Prosser has today alleged that the upcoming 2021 iMac models will offer five color options, mirroring the colors of the fourth-generation iPad Air, and revealed a number of additional details about the Mac Pro with Apple Silicon.

In a new video on YouTube channel FrontPageTech, Prosser explained that the redesigned iMacs will come featuring options for Silver, Space Gray, Green, Sky Blue, and Rose Gold.

He shared renders of what these new color options may look like on a redesigned iMac, but noted that he has yet to see the rear of the new design, so his renders are purely speculative beyond color.

Prosser explained that the range of color options aims to capitalize on nostalgia for the original iMac, which came in a selection of iconic colors such as lime, strawberry, blueberry, grape, and tangerine.

Redesigned iMacs with slimmer bezels and Apple Silicon chips have been expected for some time, but it is unclear exactly when they are expected to be launched this year or if both model sizes will come out at the same time.

Prosser also outlined a number of additional details about the upcoming Mac Pro with Apple Silicon, supporting previous rumors from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. Gurman has said that the new Mac Pro will be less than half the size of the current ‌Mac Pro‌, putting it somewhere between the existing ‌Mac Pro‌ and the Mac mini. The machine is speculated to feature a mostly aluminum exterior and may "invoke nostalgia" for the Power Mac G4 Cube.

Prosser has now said that the new Mac Pro will feature a design that looks like "three to four Mac minis stacked on top of each other," and provided renders of the purported new look.

Internally, Prosser says that the Mac Pro will be designed with the "compute unit on the bottom" and a "big heat sink on top."

Late last year, Bloomberg reported that Apple plans to launch the new, smaller ‌Mac Pro‌ with ‌Apple Silicon‌ by the end of 2022, but it could arrive as soon as this year.

I don’t know about the colours but I think it highly likely we will see a similar form factor as that pictured. Flat, a little thicker, edge to edge screen, little or no bezel. Think iPad on a stand.
