I was hoping that with the XDR display design that we'd see an actually ergo friendly iMac, but hopefully if this turns out to have legs that there will be a VESA option at least.

When the first 27"+ iMac with Apple Silicon arrives, my 2017 model is being traded in.

Honestly these iMacs look much thicker in these rendering than I thought they will be. Reminds me to the g5 iMacs. Is there any reason why an iMac with m1 must be so much thicker than an iPad Pro? Since we expect Apple to solder everything together, make it non-upgradable, have no discrete GPU but something Apple designed + probably the main space eater in iPads - the battery - is missing, what’s the need for making them not as thin as an iPad Pro?

with many females
I mean even if we disregard that it's kind of sexist to assume women and girls (those are the normal terms we use for human adult/child females respectively, by the way) would want pink, or that others wouldn't... all I hear when I read that is:

My girls would want pink.....and im sure most men would not want pink.... lets not make everything either sexist or racist please...

I didn't say anything to discount that your daughters.. wives.. girlfriends or any number of girls/women might want a pink model or that many men wouldn't want one.

But this quote, frames it as: pink is added for all the women and only the women:

Especially brilliant is the pink one. It’s going to be a must-have with many females.

I'll just leave this here...

That's quite interesting, and most of them are either true/false - not an endless list of "pending" as with Ming Chi Kuo, from the same site.

Power supply is something which can't be thinned either, some array of bulky capacitor sit on them won't allow that, unless Apple using brick style model literally as external PSU.

It's gonna be so difficult to not buy this damn thing as soon as it comes out. Dark space gray looks slick as hell. Hopefully they go more vibrant with the colors if they want to match the nostalgia of the older iMacs. Would love a deep red colorway.

I'm curious whether this will have fans or just a giant heatsink?

RIP upgradeable RAM, but maybe if we're lucky this will come in a 32" 6K variant. Maybe only for the iMac Pro if they keep that around.

I look at my deep red iPhone SE and wish the colors on the rest of the line were so bold. The light color look just doesn’t do it for me.
I hope all the I/O for the iMac is in the base so as to not see cables coming off the bottom edge of the iMac at all. That way they could also add a few ports in the front as well without taking away from the look of the screen.

As far as the Mac Pro goes if it does not have feet or handles someone needs to design an acrylic housing that makes it look like the cube floating in air

Silver and whateverlevelofspace grey would be just fine; as they're already doing on other devices...

But those colors? Those colors in the home? Standing there, in some cases, for all to see? ATROCIOUS.

Pastels on a computer are absolutely abominable. They need to be deep jewel-tone colors; akin to those iMac G3s.

I feel that strongly. 😅

So they want people to start looking at the new iMac as a fun home computer like the original iMac. But that was a different time and different market.

Or did they predict some future where creative offices are going to become more colorful?

Circular trackpad, here we come!
That rumor was debunked the day after tomorrow. It's actually an Apple-shaped trackpad with the stem functioning as a physical button (for nostalgia)...in both Granny Smith and Red Delicious variations.
