Well the Hermes thread will freeze over and self implode. Most of us are putting a significant amount of money into bands a year.I'm not saying I think it will be necessary, I'm just saying that if they redesign the Watch this year and it is no longer compatible with legacy bands, I don't fault them for it. They have kept every generation of Watch compatible with legacy bands for years now, I consider it a sufficient good faith effort at this point and won't be upset if this year marks a change.
just like before - speakerWhat are the two long slits on the left side?
Does anyone know what the 2 long lines are on the side?
The speaker holes. That's how they are now tooWhat are the two long slits on the left side?
“People have worn watches with flat edges for decades, without issues. Apple did not invent flat edges on watches, and there is no reason it should become an issue now”.This is not how you respond to a question.

Thank you, deeddawg.
Really? By customers you surely must mean some internet nerds who spend time on tech sites gossiping about new product designs and concepts. I never met a single person in the real world who wished it was round.Customers: round Apple Watch PLEASE!
Much as I would love it to be true, you know that's just an unsubstantiated rumour, right? No-one has demonstrated reliable non-invasive glucose sensing even in a theoretical paper yet, let alone in a sensor that can be packaged in an apple watch. Looking at the Dexcom share price, industry analysts obviously don't believe an apple watch is about to offer anything that competes with existing CGM. I'll have my insulin pump in space grey please. If it can check my blood sugar non-invasively as often as I want, I'm not sure I care what it looks like. I'm also willing to bet the design change is related to the packaging space needed to house the new sensor package. The rounded sides waste internal space.
Why would we need to buy new bands? The band design is currently extremely slim and I think still has much more life.
The Apple Watch has actually been getting thicker and heavier each year (similar to the iPhone) for the last couple of generations.
But the speaker holes on the Series 6 are smaller and don’t take up the entire length of the side. I would think there would be waterproofing issues with holes this long on the Series 7. No?The speaker holes. That's how they are now too
For me I wear long sleeves to work (army) and I’d be worried about them catching all the time on a flat edgeYes!!! I’ve been waiting for this. The watch as it is now ain’t bad but i’ve always been thinking about a flat edged watch. Flat edges are the best. The iPhone 4 was truly an iconic influential device and I love the design of my 12 Pro Max. Can’t wait to get my iPad Pro with its flat edges. The new iMac is gorgeous with flat edges!
This is my initial reaction as well. It looks like a fitness tracker, which is fine, but the prior watch looked like an elegant watch that could be dressed up as much or as little as the user wants. It will be helpful to see a non-render and in stainless/titanium, though.I personally don’t like it. I liked the rounded shape, it had more of a jewelry appeal to me, the flat edge make it look more like a gadget strapped to your wrist.
Military folks have been wearing flat-edged watches LONG before the bubbly Apple Watch, so I don't expect this to be a show-stopping issue. At worst it'll catch no more than any other watch. For me I wear long sleeves to work (army) and I’d be worried about them catching all the time on a flat edge
