No multi device support, I guess? Low/no usage of Whatsapp in the US and China which are the Watch’s main market? One can only hypothetize. Messenger has a good Watch app.So why hasn't Whatsapp created a watchOS app?
It’s true. And in a few years, Apple will release a new design language with rounded edges again. Why? Because they have to think different and keep people interested 😄The invasion of the flat edges continues! It won't stop until there are no more rounded edges.
Of course. The real question: will old bands be compatible with the new design?
Take a look at some old school watches and ask again. It looks nice, but are those flat edges comfortable on your arm?
Just keep it. I have a ceramic 3, that I bought used from a guy who bought it on day one, and other than standard fomo of not having the latest one, I’m not missing anything. It does what I need, fast enough that I don’t notice. And battery is still solid. I actually had a 4, but got allergies so downgraded to get ceramic. So it’s not that I haven’t seen what I’m missing, I just don’t think about it in everyday life. Comparably, my original SE got so slow I had to replace it. I have the feeling I can keep this for several more years.Oh ffs, WHY????????????
I was just looking at my Apple Watch and appreciating the heck out of the curves.
I wore three different models of Garmin Forerunners as my everyday watch for a few years. It looks nice, but are those flat edges comfortable on your arm?
Why would we need to buy new bands? The band design is currently extremely slim and I think still has much more life.Honestly, they have supported legacy bands for WAY longer than they could have. Can we really complain about finally having to buy new bands after years of continuity?
46 - 48mm would be too big for day to day use (for many, many people). lol The only time I would wear a watch that big is on long distance runs.If they do this, wouldn't they also get rid of the rounded display glass on top and make it flush like the iPhone? Then they could bring the edges out to where the rounded part extends now, pull the bezels back a touch, and increase the display size by a good amount. This would also allow for a bit more battery capacity and/or room for additional sensors. I think my ideal Apple Watch size is in the 46-48mm range.
I'm not saying I think it will be necessary, I'm just saying that if they redesign the Watch this year and it is no longer compatible with legacy bands, I don't fault them for it. They have kept every generation of Watch compatible with legacy bands for years now, I consider it a sufficient good faith effort at this point and won't be upset if this year marks a change. Why would we need to buy new bands? The band design is currently extremely slim and I think still has much more life.
The Apple Watch has actually been getting thicker and heavier each year (similar to the iPhone) for the last couple of generations.
and the fake renderings for this story show you can still fit the current design even with rounded corners
True I was living with a series 0 until last year when I upgraded to a 6. The new OS features were great (as was the battery life) but I'll be keeping the 6 for a while unless I get stupid rich and just decide to buy a new one every year.Just keep it. I have a ceramic 3, that I bought used from a guy who bought it on day one, and other than standard fomo of not having the latest one, I’m not missing anything. This is not how you respond to a question.Take a look at some old school watches and ask again.

Their flat edges were never uncomfortable.
its funny how people say an a product is "fugly" end up buying the product they said was "fugly"I think the correct word for this is fugly
Yes! A Patek Phillipe special edition! The real, real question: when are we getting an Apple Watch Tourbillon that will retail in the $100K range?
Many people on MR will do that very thing.its funny how people say an a product is "fugly" end up buying the product they said was "fugly"
physical size of the watch being the same - I will take a larger display!46 - 48mm would be too big for day to day use (for many, many people). lol The only time I would wear a watch that big is on long distance runs.
