I’ve had my S3 since launch and have worn it every day since. Been keen for an upgrade but just haven’t felt any have raised the bar enough so far to warrant it.
I would love for Apple to bring out a more extreme sport style watch, more catered towards higher active people as opposed to a ‘keep active’ style. Maybe even something to compete with whoop data metrics but still a watch like the fenix type.

If the size of the watch didn't change, I would be fine with a larger display. I just wouldn't want something that was ugly disproportionate on my wrist all the time.
physical size identical was an assumption on my part to ensure band compatibility, well, at least 2 sides out of 4 :p

I agree with you ...

I wouldn't mind the watch being a little wider. I only have the band on the watch (which is black), so not a problem for me.

And then Apple will start to revert everything to rounded edges and proclaim to us why rounded makes the most sense. And we will all buy them…
See: the rounded original iPhone through iPhone 3GS, then the square 4/5/5S, then back to round with the 6-11, then flat.

They always go square-round-square-round and will continue that - unless they can invent a new type of edge 😆

It looks like a miniaturized iPhone 4. Dinged & Nicked edges here we go.

Does that mean that eventually the battery will swell and the back pops off?

That green is just light enough for me. after having the stainless steel since Apple watch 0, might switch.

No no. Stick with stainless, especially since you're likely used to the bumps and abrasion you cause during everyday use, which probably doesn't harm the steel watch but might actually cause visible damage to the non-stainless version.

A flat-sided Apple Watch is going to look thicker, and feel thicker/blockier on your wrist than one with rounded sides. I like it on iPhones and iPads, but not on a watch.

I know people like change for the sake of it, but the Apple Watch shape is pretty great already. It’s also very Apple. You can tell it’s an AW just by its shape.

I just wish they released an Apple Watch Max. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I wouldn’t buy it (I’m more of an iPhone Mini kinda guy), but a Max watch is due.

Looks like the Pebble I had back in the day… kinda screams “I’m a digital watch”. Maybe the product has matured enough for that to not be an issue.

Anyone else here just see "Prosser" on the home page in an article and just keep scrolling by? (Yes, I get the irony of posting this comment here.)

So long as it doesn't bother my wrist I'll be buying the next one. Currently have a 5. Have been wearing since 0 but now just do the every other upgrade approach. Hopefully the band connection doesn't change.

Oh yeah... Green? W*F? I'll stick with a muted grey/aluminum sort of color.

How would watch bands work on a round Apple Watch? Bands can’t have the same attachment mechanism and/or be the same width, they’d have to be much skinnier otherwise half of the space in the watch would be taken up by the bands. Can’t just use pins like any basic watch and require tools to remove, has to be tool free. Could have the bands push in but then it’d be just a pin holding a strap on, not a wedge taking most of the force as we have now.

Apple designed a pretty fantastic mechanism for attaching watch bands, I can’t imagine anything better existing for a round watch, nor can I imagine a round Apple Watch being easily discernible from the bazillion generic Android watches that already exist.

As for a flat edged watch, eww. If I wanted something that looked like a Fitbit I’d get a Fitbit.
