Yeah, in the age of Covid product releases apple could totally just make this a press release and website update, with maybe a few 10-15 minute update videos about some new features and functions in AW 6. At this point, we’re all just watching it on apple events and afterwards anyway, there are no press junkets or events or people on site to take photos and try out. Why NOT just make it a press release for something that is most likely going to be an incremental upgrade, maybe slightly larger battery, some new features, MAYBE a tad more screen real estate. That sort of thing doesn’t required an apple online event and prior notifications.

the iphone 12 will most certainly be an “Event” but almost certainly again all online like the last event during MWDC. I’m pretty sure they don’t want to do that till 2 weeks before either ordering or availability and that is most certainly not till October.

As for the AW5 not being on websites, that makes sense. They don’t want anyone buying it at 349+, when tomorrow it will be ~249. Too many orders to cancel or watches to return.

You got this all figured out, haven’t you?

9:00am EST = 10:00am EDT
I’ll be tuned in at 10am tomorrow morning!

(either way, if it’s a typo or not, if the news comes tomorrow, the story will be already out and I’ll sleep in.)

I’m boycotting all apple products until they change their stance on xcloud, GeForce now, stadia, etc. should be interesting, since I’ve used iOS for 10+ years. But I’m done. This was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Ok. Sorry you feel the need to “boycott“ a company for doing the same thing it has done the entire time you’ve used their products.

You’ll be waiting at least another month for the iPhone and everything else, wouldn’t be surprised if that stuff didn’t come out until mid next year.
Except for the fact that Tim literally said that the first ARM Mac Will release before the end of this year.

So while we wait... how are all of you doing?
Staying safe?
any good shows you been watching?
Best album of all time?

Apple is reportedly planning a press release for this Tuesday to announce new iPad and Apple Watch models, according to prolific leaker Jon Prosser.

Prosser explains that Apple has a press release scheduled for Tuesday, September 8 at 9:00 EST, but notes that it is not "locked in" until the day itself. Prosser has also said that he will offer an update if and when one is available.

Prosser has previously said that new Apple Watch and iPad models would arrive via press release in the week of September 7. This alleged Tuesday press release would seem to be for those products.

Although new Apple Watch models would likely be the expected Series 6, Prosser did not state which iPad would be arriving. In recent months there has been some conflation about leaks regarding the low-cost iPad and iPad Air 4. It has also been suggested that updated iPad Pro models may arrive this month, so it is difficult to know exactly which iPad models are expected.

The release of multiple Apple products appears to be imminent. At the end of last month, Apple registered eight Apple Watches and seven iPads in Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) filings, and various leaks such as an alleged instruction manual and design schematics have come to light. Similar EEC filings have preceded the launch of new Apple products on numerous occasions, including multiple ‌‌iPad‌‌, ‌iPad Pro‌, ‌iPhone‌, Mac, ‌Apple Watch‌, and AirPods models.

The EEC filings effectively confirm that new Apple Watches and at least two different models of iPad will be released very soon, so Prosser's claim that a Tuesday press release will see announcements of these products is not unfounded. Prosser has also correctly predicted some of Apple's launch plans in the past.

Update: Mark Gurman believes that the Tuesday announcement may only be for the upcoming iPhone event rather than any new product releases:

Classic.
For me, it’s Pet Sounds. Normy answer, I know.
Holland is good too.
Anyways, besides dark blue, what other colors are the new 12s supposed to come in?
Hopefully better than last year selection, the 11 more pastel colors were boring
