M2? really?
anybody who has performance issues with the current m1 MBA, please stand up!

Apple should year on year make the previous CPU look like it is irrelevant. In 2025 the machines there should be so far ahead from today that you are compelled to upgrade. I don’t want another decade where a 2010 Mac Pro like machine can still hold its own against machines in 2020 never mind 2015.

sure, but i'd have some big guns for the bigger macs. to me the 'new iMac' is still a MBP with a bigger display.
wait, no. it's an iPad pro with a stand.
Didn't know iPads could run Mac OS.

not a chance...since the space grey has no general issues, and since is a darker colour , so even a slighty washed out could be seen....i have no doubt it will not be an issue...alcantara coating could and is an issue for a longer period of time like i had with my surface laptop
This very site recently reported cases of red iPhones getting their sides washed out because of hand sanitizers. I don't see why Macs would be different.

White bezels? 😂
Don't. Please, just don't... someone at Apple might read it and...

Given that Ive is gone and someone found early designs of eMacs in a basement and reused them for the latest iMac, let's hope that person didn't find the designs for the iBook G3 as well... because... well, white bezels and dual color.

I don't have a problem with colors, I can still buy the classic silver version, but dual color with white bezels... ugh. 🤮

M1 is just a stepping stone. It does seem too soon for a MacBook Air update, you'd figure it would be 18-24 months out. It would seem the Pro M* chip would be next up. That will be something completely different from M1 because Apple has to put more guts in there than will fit in one SoC.

seeing an "M2" now would mean Apple is taking another small step up rather than the big step for the Pros.

But will it be a One-Port Wonder in multiple colors? What keeps me from buying ANY M1/2/3/4/5/6 Air is the fact that it essentially has ONE USB port, since the other would be taken for the charger.

Shiny colorful objects fail when faced with the reality of being a One-Port Wonder.

some cases...not a big deal
dont worry about it :)

It is kind of weird to me how Apple seems to assume that only people on a budget like colours and "Pro" devices need to be subtle to make them appear more expensive. Is that already considered Classism? (is that a word?)

When we first posted an animation of white bezel MBPs to Instagram, the responses were overwhelmingly people saying they'd never color the "professional" computers.

There seems to be this desire for people to project their an image of professionalism, which means desaturating things I guess.

The thing I find funny is that if you're a professional, the ideal computer looks like whatever has the performance you need. Colors are superficial.

Seriously though, black bezels would look terrible on purple or yellow machines.

I disagree. The white bezels look awful on all of them.

Apple did the right thing with the iMac and will surely do the same with this new line of consumer-oriented laptops. But I bet we'll always have space gray + black bezels on the "Pro" machines, so you don't have to worry.

I'll keep worrying all the same. The Pro machines have their own horrible issue (the touchbar) which makes them a no-go for me. Now that they've finally made the Air a capable device again, I was hoping to get a redesigned one to hold onto for a few years, but if they repeat the mistake they made with the new iMacs then maybe I'll have to go with the current design.

Tim: We’ve stop innovating and are sales are flat. How can we sell more computers?

Apple’s 20 Something Staff: What if we made them come in bright colors?

Tim: I love it! Great job team.

Apple Users Older than 25: Wait they did that in the 90s 🤨

That would suck though, why can't Pro users have some color in their life too!
I thought the same thing as I was writing this. If you just look at what Apple does with the iPhone Pro’s, it would make sense for them to offer one color beyond silver, gray and gold for the Pro line of MacBooks and iMacs each year.

I’m a huge fan of the color orange, and also like olive green, both of which would look awesome as a MacBook Air or Pro.

base model SSD should be upgraded to 512GB, spending time on colorful Mac... there are other ways that money and time can be spend.

I can assure you the new MBP will abandon the Touch Bar and will still be silver and black, carrying the same design language of the Mac Pro and the Pro Display XDR. Source: those recent ransom leaks
