Then why are you on mac RUMORS!I'm not believing anyone unless it's from Apple themselves
Then why are you on mac RUMORS!I'm not believing anyone unless it's from Apple themselves
Yes, and I take some with more a grain of salt than others. When there's a consensus on the rumors, I find it credible. When they're vastly different, I don't believe anything. Then why are you on mac RUMORS!
I do remember that. Those were the days. Sadly, the community was just as toxic back then as they are now. When the 4S was announced instead of the mythical teardrop designed iPhone 5, everyone got their Jimmy’s all Rustled, because it was the first Keynote with Tim as CEO, and everyone thought that this was the beginning of the downfall, and this was him proving that he wasn’t fit to run the company, because that phone wasn’t innovative enough. You know, despite the fact that it had been in development for over a year under Jobs.I don't like Prosser's attitude, but I do see Apple releasing the Watch and iPad via press release. It makes sense in 2020. These are most likely minor (but welcomed) updates that Apple can post on their site before releasing the iPhone upgrades later this month-November.
Why is everyone here so negative about this? Am I the only one excited? This is MacRumors! Part of the fun of being here is the misleading rumors! Remember the teardrop iPhone 5?
It was Apple watch band.Am I the only one hoping for a product red Apple Watch? I thought it leaked a while ago that they were working on one, but I might be wrong.
NopeIt was Apple watch band.
but he sounds so confident though like he’s 99.9% sure.Jon has been feeding wrong info about products many times:
1. Hardwares on WWDC
2. iPhoneOS
3. Air Tags
4. Fake AirPower photos
He is most accurate at event dates and times but not products
If he gets this one wrong. This is really game over for him. Find a new career please.
AwWhat does it say about your credibility when even the bots don't have faith in you? /s jk
Everyone has been saying it’s a pretty incremental update. There’s been absolutely no rumor of any type of design changes for this year.If they announce the new Watch by press release only I'd be concerned that it is a very incremental update.
Not necessarily, the last iPad Air was announced via press release and it was a pretty major upgrade over its predecessor. If they announce the new Watch by press release only I'd be concerned that it is a very incremental update.
THIS, please. Like let’s just stop. Especially if this is wrong- his credibility should not be enough to be reporting claims.can we stop reporting on jon prosser if he gets this one wrong?
for the record: i believe something is happening tomorrow, but if he's wrong about the details on this, he's done IMO.
Doc Brown... is that you?I just tweeted that Apple will release new devices at some point in the future.
None of the watches are sold out in the Canadian store.See here’s the thing, it doesn’t matter what you think about Jon’s personality. That has absolutely no relation to how reliable his information is. And while he’s been incorrect about future product features, and distant plans, when he says a solid release date, at least the last several times that he’s done so, he’s always right.
He said that Apple would be releasing some new products the week of March 15. Three days later on Wednesday, March 18, we got the new iPad pros, MacBook airs, and Mac minis.
On Tuesday, March 31, he said the iPhone SE would launch on April 15. Every other website and leaker said he was wrong, but April 15 arrived along with the iPhone SE.
He said a 13 inch MacBook Pro would arrive in May, and wouldn’t you know, it arrived on May 4.
He said the new iMac would not arrive in July as other people were saying, but would come out in August. August 4 came with a new iMac.
So when he says that new watches and iPads are coming on September 8, with an Apple event scheduled for the week of October 12, I tend to believe him. Now if he were to go on and say that they’re going to announce Apple glass, airpower, and all that kind of stuff, then he starts to enter murky territory.
But this release schedule makes complete sense with the restrictions that are currently going on. Almost every series 5 model is completely out of stock, and if it’s true that Apple doesn’t plan to have an event until October, I highly doubt they’re gonna leave the Apple Watch with no supply for an entire month. What would their stockholders say? How would they report Septembers data at their quarterly earnings call, if the watch sold zero units because there were none available?
Of course Apple is not gonna do something stupid like that.
So tomorrow, we’re going to get new iPads and Apple watches.
Then in October, we’ll get new iPhones, AirPods, airtags, and ARM MacBooks, along with whatever other surprises they have up their sleeve.
Also, I have mad props for Mark pre-2019, but over the last year or so, his reporting has become very shaky.
One day I hope I have random internet strangers who will go out of their way to spend many minutes of their free time defending my honor on macrumors by only typing up my wins and ignoring all of my misses/faults.
Must be nice. Brb going to go use my AirPods Studio connected to my iPhoneOS to listen to a podcast about my heritage edition glasses and Xcode for iPad. Been using all these products since WWDC thanks to Jon!

Aw, that’s foul. Very messed up
it also has to do with this strange idea that people have that to be an actual weeker you have to be part of a blog. Or some kind of news site. Even to this day, Youtubers and the like are still not taken anywhere near as seriously as traditional journalists, even though they should be.I don’t know where the Prosser attitude narrative started from. Dude is a goofball and tries to make jokes. He has made some funny ones over the years. He’s a very reasonable guy if you listen to his interviews on other shows.
Macrumours is a site for all rumours, true or not. People who want to see how credible leakers are can just go to AppleTrack and use their own brains to reach their own conclusions about the validity of the leaks.
Not even Gurman has 100% right, and he’s often late to the party with leaks these last few years, as he needs to be more certain before reporting. Being with Bloomberg, he is big time; more at stake. He can’t spew little bits of info like Prosser and smaller leakers do, even if they are correct.
