Most android phones are cumbersome to carry in my pockets. I'm glad they are staying with this size, instead of succumbing to some nerd's fantasy.

I'm sure you're talking about 'nerd's fantasy' as in larger screen? Well there's those who want Apple to make a huge iPhone housing a 4.3 inch monster-screen.

Then there's the rest of us, who just wants Apple to put up a challenge, making a phone that houses as big a screen as practically possible without sacrificing size, weight and battery. Would that be 3.7 inch? 4? We don't know, we just notice that tech does indeed moves forward, and iPhone 4 has some bezel in every direction from the screen that is up for grabs...

I think most people here are in the last group. I also would be very disappointed if iPhone 5 is more clunky to carry around, but I doubt that will happen.

Seriously...

After this being the billionth post on a potential new phone design/spec/etc over the last year and a half, for as much flak as Android devices get for having a new phone out regularly, wouldn't you rather have a phone you could buy instead of looking at purported photos and/or "analyst predictions" for specs?

Pshaw. My Razr could and did survive numerous drops. The iP4 is simply too fragile.
Comparing a Razr to an iPhone 4 is like comparing a Shelby GT to a Model T. Your argument is silly and makes no sense.

why pay extra for nice design if youre gonna stick it in a case. never got that part really.

Who says you're paying extra for a nice design? You're buying a phone to use.... sure the design does matter but you're are NOT paying extra for the design. If you don't want to put a case on your i4 then don't, but don't complain about it when it breaks. It's an expensive devise protect it.

Yeah, we already went over this with the 3GS. It absolutely trounced the 3G in performance but people refused to see it as new since the casing was the same. It's actually an exercise in marketing though. You have to show the consumer why the new one is better if it looks just like the old one. That's why Apple has an incentive to change the look every year.

The 3gs was a very big dissapointment and barely sold any units because it looked so much like the 3g.....Yeah, they really need to change the design every year

Bored of what? We jugging it on looks now?

"Oh the iPhone still looks the same, i'm off to buy an Android"

Laptops iMacs MacPros have has the same designs for years, don't see people getting bored.

Are you seriously comparing a Macbook to the iPhone? Do you realize that Apple probably doesn't sell even a million Macbooks a quarter? They sell 15-20 million iPhones a quarter.

You don't have to upgrade something physically when there is such a small number of people experiencing it. When it gets to iPhone type's of sales, you HAVE to upgrade in order to attract the people that already have them...simply because the people that already have them probably numbers in the hundreds of millions. The amount of people that have iPhones right now account for a very large percentage of the people who will buy another one.

Please, be rational when making arguments. Think before you type.

Go back and actually read what I wrote and clarified when someone else made the same mistake as you, which you didn't read.

re original article
with all the possible next iphone predictions/possibilities
we need a graphical summary sheet to keep up

They are making tools available to the developers in the App Store, challenging them essentially. Also, I don't think there's any question the iPad 2 runs iOS 4 faster than the iPad 1. Otherwise, you're essentially saying the iPad 2 has no reason to exist besides a thinner case and a camera.

its not enough of a difference,, if apple had not discontinued the ipad 1 production many consumers would have kept buying it over the 2..

the only reason i got the iphone 4 was due to the retina screen and more ram but in this case i dont need more ram. cause IP4 has enough.

so just as i skipped the ipad 2 and kept my ipad 1 i will skip the iphone 5 /4s unless it has at least a bigger screen

the 3g was horrible. its an easy sell when you see how horrible something is in comparison to the new device.

the iphone 4 is perfect, other than the feel of it. so, it's a much harder sell to get people to upgrade from the current device.

this is 100% right.. 3g sucked 3gs was good but 4 is perfect and new iphone has to be fantastic or it will have sales issues as long as the 4 is available..

My money is on this being legit. 4S with updated internals this year and possibly a new design and called iPhone 5 April 2012.

Not that it's worth 2 cents... :) but a guess.

I rip these things apart on a daily basis, and guess what????
ITS THE SAME EXACT PIECE OF GLASS DOWN TO THE PLACEMENT OF THE SCAN STICKERS ON THE BACK OF THE GLASS.

I buy these from china.

$53.91 each

Guess what.

THIS IS AN IPHONE 4 FRONT GLASS AFTER THE WHITE REDESIGN , ITS JUST BLACK!!!

As I've posted before there is TWO in development I'll confirm one is the N94 and the other is a N9x (seriously you think I'd tell you after the previous case of people being sued over the the K48. . I mean iPad)

Anyway final development testing has taken place and ramp up will be commencing on the N94 and possibly the other but not 100% sure . . . but hell why would you believe me . .

Um, I'm not sure why anyone would think that 1. Apple would give a crap about how Verizon customers feel, and 2. That Apple would delay releasing a product that will sell tens of millions at launch-- and even to people who JUST bought the 4. Besides that, isn't Apple upsetting millions more waiting iPhone 5 buyers than they would have Verizon customers??

Why do you assume Apple is losing any sales by this delay? They are selling millions of iPhone 4's to Verizon customers who won't qualify for an upgrade for at least one year after they purchase the 4. Apple has every incentive to exhaust this market before launching a new phone. Finally, Apple may have had a contractual obligation to Verizon to delay a 5 launch while selling 4's to Verizon's customers.

No one interested in going from the iPhone 4 to 5, is going to change their mind in the interim. In fact, just the opposite is true -- The buzz is creating increased demand for the new phone with each passing day. This is Marketing 101.

It seems to me that Apple is exhausting the iPhone 4 market (and in the process taking full advantage of the fix costs to put in place the manufacturing infrastructure) before launching 5.

And "millions" of customers aren't upset -- just the Apple nerds.

Yes. I do. That is one factoid that if you did know you could actually say. It's not like you would be saying what the number actually refers to or any specifics about it, which as an anon poster you could also do, even if you really did know.

heh - well as said I do know but I aren't willing to blab it online. Lets put it this way I also know that Apple have a team of people who trawl the web day and night looking for these kind of things and if things get out which they don't like they pass it over to lawyers to take care of. Why do you think all the Ebay things never reach a sale? Or why most of the leak pictures disappear?

All I'll say is it ain't consecutive, it's higher than 94 and it's an odd number, which leaves you with a 50/50 guess, whether it'll be release is another question altogether.

Take it or leave it!
