It’s not a “penalty” to be allowed to sign up simultaneously with everyone else. It’s not like they owed you “a spot in line.” They never promised you would be allowed to sign up early, and you didn’t pay them for such a right.

It’s just a credit card. I want to sign up too, but I can wait.

Of course it's just a credit card. However, there was an ostensible process in place that invites were issued in some order relative to when people expressed interest and because of a glitch, this group of us, according to your probably accurate assumption, means we are losing our spot in line. I am not shedding any tears but it is penalizing to lose one's spot in line because of a glitch.

When we signed up they never said we were in a line. We were signing up to be notified. The fact that some people who signed up got an early invitation is a present for them, not a penalty for us.

I have an e-mail that says otherwise.

"You wanted to be one of the first to get Apple Card — a new kind of credit card created by Apple, not a bank. Good news: Here’s your chance to experience Apple Card before everybody else, so you can help us get ready for the public launch. Your early access invitation is waiting, but we need your Apple ID to send it."

Curious how Apple defines 'Summer' for the release of this as the Fall Solstice isn't until September 23rd. So a 'summer' release' could be anytime over the next 40 days perhaps.

Do we really care when the sun is directly over the Equator (Spring and Fall Equinox)? Summer is over on Labor Day.

I'm not directing this at you personally, I agree with your statement, I'm just wondering why we use an antiquated sun-positioning to define a season.

Has anyone who got the faulty Apple Card invite saying you need to use your valid Apple ID (but it was in fact the valid, correct one) gotten a new invite yet? It’s beyond the 48 hour window they said. Seems like the type of problem Apple could fix pretty quick.

Apple's Apple Card support is completely clueless.

People, this is still in beta. I get it, we’re Apple loyalists and want that titanium card ASAP, but this is a credit card, not a new iPhone, iPad or Mac!

We signed up to be *notified*. Apple says the card will be released this month. Let’s keep this in perspective.

Some did. I didn’t.

Welp, I got that email (to my iCloud email address). But I still went to the Apple Card page a re-signed up with my same iCloud ID. It’s been 72 hours and nothing. Amateur hour yet again.

What time approx did you resubmit your email after getting that message ?

I just spoke with someone at Apple, senior support. They said they wrote a ticket to the engineering team to get me an invite to the card sent out. They said it could be as fast as later today or a couple of days.

I have two Apple ID’s, one for iTunes and one for iCloud. This week I received Apple Card advance invitation sent to my iTunes Apple ID which didn’t work. (Apple Card is connected to Wallet on iCloud) So after after receiving the confusing above Apple email yesterday and entering my correct iCloud Apple ID...hopefully a correct invitation will arrive in 48 hours

I had to do the same thing. Curious if you received the second invite after using iCloud email address? Just submitted mine today.

I got an invite but when I tried to apply it said that the apple card was not available yet and only for preview. why did get an invite than

Still no invite for me after 3+ days after resubmitting my email address. My appleid is my original .mac email address (@mac.com). It seems like quite of few users having difficulties use their @me.com or @mac.com as their Apple ID as well. Hopefully they figure this out soon. At the very least, Apple should send an update email after missing their self-imposed 48 hr response time.

I think the problem is evenly distributed and not directly related to using a .mac email. I've had my Apple ID for over 12 years against a personal email server and ran into the same situation as everyone else. Nothing after 48 hours, so I signed up a 3rd time and nothing since then. It didn't start working on its own either.

Unless it has something to do with the age of the Apple ID, or whether you have promotional emails enabled. I turned off promotional emails a few years ago because everything they sent out I already knew about from reading sites like this or watching the videos of the associated events. Maybe the entire thing was just an accident and they didn't mean to invite so many people that quickly.

I never got a new email invite, but the ability to apply was available in the Wallet app the day after I received the email about the incorrect Apple ID

For those of you who applied this way, just randomly going into he wallet app, is there a bit of a lag when it happened? because it's pretty interesting how an the wallet interface can change without an update or anything in the OS or the app

Interestingly, I checked my wallet AFTER receiving the invitation and nothing was there. I clicked on the link in the invite, it took me back to the wallet, then the page appeared.
