Just to restore some balance to the Universe, it’s worth noting that the internet always makes problems of any nature seem far more widespread than they actually are. I personally have not noticed any bugs in Catalina. Mail or otherwise. That doesn’t discount the experiences of other users, but I think it’s important to remain sensible about this sort of thing. The vocal minority is still a minority.

This afternoon I faced my third issue of the MAIL, the Outlook account popped-out frequently [approx. every 10-20 min.] asking my to input the password.....:eek::eek: I have to quit the MAIL and open the SAFARI to keep working with the Outlook..... anyone here has the same issue? or I am the only unlucky guy?

How did so many critical issues get past Apple on this one? Maybe it’s time to start splitting up releases. Mac in the spring, IOS in the fall? Maybe spend more time doing the technology and less time making crappy looking tv shows?

I see similar issues in enterprise Outlook O365, mainly when forwarding a message as attachment in Catalina. So far this roll out has been pretty spotty. for day to day stuff not a big deal but not their best release yet (Sierra/High Sierra were pretty rough too with APFS and a change to their backend).

Well, that's it.

I was hesitant before, but reading this has made up my mind.

Catalina is not getting near my Macs until Apple release at least a couple more updates.

Job’s Apple created a strong loyalty and an emotional bond in their users by producing products that “just work”. Those were products people needed and wanted.

Cook‘s Apple seems to have renamed those users to customers which is a profound approach difference. Fundamental functionality, particularly in productivity, has stagnated and these products no longer just work. Prioritizing window dressing for customers over basic functionality is eroding away those loyal Job users.

Cook, we’re losing confidence in the Apple brand and that should be keeping you awake at night.

I was thinking about waiting for 10.15.1, but I guess 10.15.2 is starting to seem like a better idea
Same thoughts here. I was really looking forward to updating from Mojave to Catalina, but held off because of the plethora of issues that users have been experiencing. There are so many problems to be fixed that I doubt 10.15.1 will have them all covered.

I always do a first quarter update. Sure, I get an itch to upgrade in October, but that soon passes and the end of the year is so busy that you forget it.

I remember how much of a cluster the original mac os 10.0 release was, It was good that you could duel boot OS9.x and that Apple released 10.1 as a free update. since that time (starting with Jaguar) until just a couple years ago I installed new OS versions on release day, but starting a couple years ago I’ve increasingly waited longer and longer to implement and been glad. until I helped family install catalina I couldn’t decide if MacOS releases were really getting more buggy or if I was getting more risk adverse. But after going through troubleshooting and day long installs with family I think I found my answer. I still think Catalina will be nice but, I’ll personally be holding off for a couple months.

I don’t think he gives a damn, he’s far too busy counting his endless millions and his glorious stock option prices! He’s ensuring he stays CEO long enough to cash in on those shares to make more millions.
Is that a cynical view? I don’t think so and am sure anyone would be the same when faced with that much money. Then again Jobs did seem to act differently.

This is their windows vista... lol no it isn’t
lol yes it is

The only reason people are not pissed as much as they were with Vista is that this doesn't cost several hundred dollars to upgrade.

In every other way, this is an epic fail!

What makes things worse is that developers have made Apple aware of certain problems ever since first beta. When Apple released GM, most beta testers agreed: this is nowhere near ready for prime time.

And yet, Apple just said "whatever" and released the 10.15. They knew this was gonna happen, and they stubbornly refused to wait a little bit longer.
