Im just hoping it has an OLED Screen.

Memory Stick Micro (aka M2) is already out, 16Gb of it will cost £80.

I Like the design, and i understand why there is no Second Nub. No Changable Battery by the looks of it, but im guessing it will have a longer life anyway (No Moving Parts etc.)

It will either be More or Less than the 3000, it wont be the same price thats for sure.

Selling my Red Slim with White Buttons now, and a few Games, need some cash!

My reaction:
- Memory Stick Micro is unnecessary.
- No second stick? Seriously?
- I really like the restated commitment to the PSP. It's great that I'm going to be able to play LBP, Gran Turismo and MGS on my PSP-1000. Really like the compatibility.

When did they ever say something about Memory Stick Micro? That sucks... And they won't add a second stick, unlike Nintendo I think they want all their games compatible on PSP and PSP Go.

About what you expect from Sony.
  • smaller screen? oh well, hopefully it's a better one than the 3000 has
The smaller screen better have the same pixel count, if it does, I think it'll look great.

The Screen has to be the same resolution or Higher to be backards compatible. If it had a higher res screen, it would never be used in games unless there was PSP Go only games.

The PSP doesn't have any moving parts. That applies to mechanical devices. So it would make sense if, for example, the PSP was powered by a steam turbine rather than a solid state battery.

It does apparently use MS Micro. You can make software compatible with two sticks and both consoles - Sony did it with the original DualShock on the PSOne. You could have it determined by the system, or you could manually switch it like you do in PSOne games to get the L2 and R2 buttons on the current PSP.

I can't tell if you are being sarcastic but I think he means the lack of a spinning UMD drive for playing games will extend the battery life.

Basically I'm hoping this is a well done fake that Sony purposely leaked to the media so that when the actual PSP Go is revealed at E3 it would WOW us big time......... okay thats a little far out......... but hey I can fantasize.........

Is it just me or is anybody already having hand-cramps just looking at the placement of that stick?

Yup i am, Games played off the Memory Stick make the current PSP Last about an hour longer than the same game played off the UMD Drive, so there is a substantial difference.

Ya good point... And it wouldn't look so weird with the screwed up start/select buttons, but then I would buy way more PS1 games! MS Micro isn't bad, a few 4 or 8GB cards should be fine, and I'd want to keep my 4gb pro duo in my PSP 2000.

Well thats pants. I don't want to buy another memory card format, whats wrong with SD? Would having a MS Pro Duo really have had much impact on the size?
I don't get it... they have the same transfer speed, have a smaller theoretical max capacity, why them over Pro Duo? 16gb internal is a fair bit but thats just 8 full sized games. I carry about 15 large games (and another slew of PS1, video and music content on the memory stick) when I'm traveling. And now I'll need another memory card if I want to carry more? Meh. If it at least supported SD I could use one of my spare cards.

IMO the 2000 model is the best for me (given the details we've been told so far). Great machine that.

This becomes less and less impressive the more I think about it ... I only wish I didn't already know I was going to buy it on day of release like teh other three ...

My biggest complaint is actually the stupid memory card format - I have a load of MemSticks and DS and CF and SD Micro in decent capacities ... now need yet another ...

Honestly, I was hoping the PSP Go was going to be a sort of souped-up PSP with a built-in web cam (so we can finally use the camera feature) and GPS.

I also expected Sony to have a method to allow you to transition your game collection to the Go from a regular PSP. For example, free or cheap PSN codes to allow you to download your UMD games, etc.

From what's been leaked, the PSP Go looks to be a tough sell at least for me.

I have no idea why you would pick the Go instead of a 3000. Other than Bluetooth, you could pick up a 16GB MemoryStick Pro Duo and a 3000 (or 2000) and be much better off (sleeker design, UMD and downloadable games).

And LocoRoco 2 is over a gig, I play stuff like Monster Hunter Freedom (all), Castlevania, GTAs, GoW, Tekken and the higher quality RPGs. And the girlfriend loves that Phantasy Starr game which is fairly beefy too.

I think the smallest game I own is LocoRoco 1 at around 800mb. I know if you dump the UMD you can compress it though.

For those who haven't seen

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCdN0Vh2duk&hd=1

the Qore June 09 video with John Koller talking about it. After seeing it in video, the way Bellmont holds it, etc... I am turning around on it a bit more. It looks super thin. But I am afraid uncle Sorny is gonna charge $250 for it, in which case they can go to hell, as Koller calls it "a product of a more premium nature"

Thanks for the link.

I am still very iffy - I'd love to see some extended play with those controls, they look really bunchy. I still hate the whole MemStickMicro thing ... it isn't like *anyone* will *ever* use it outside of Sony ... thought I guess it will get SDMicro out of Ericsson phones ...

I still have the original PSP so that goes to show you where I am with this device...unless I see a BIG improvement to the handheld I'll end up sitting this update out.

The PSPgo is looking really sleek but I'm going to pass.

Bless

No PSP Game is larger than 1.5Gb, thats a UMD Rule. So safe to say 10 or 12 games at once.

Reasons to get the PSP Go instead of 3000
-Smaller
-Better Screen (Hopefully)
-No UMD's
-Longer Battery Life (I Guess)
-Cheaper (Hopefully)

No way. 16GB of flash memory? Bluetooth? They are gonna use that to jack up the price. Plus it's being touted as a "premium" product.

Our survey says EH-UHHH. 1.8gb. That's 8 full size games, less if you want video and music too.
Although if they decided on adding a 32gb option later down the line and we had the ability to transfer our UMDs to the device I might jump in then.

So, There are games released that are LARGER than the maximum capacity of a UMD Disc? Wow.

As For Cheaper, you could argue because its smaller, and to try and combat the DS etc.

Oh, add lighter to the list too :p
