At work we sell Fitbit Garmin Tom Tom and other trackers so it's pretty weird to sell those products and try to pass the watch like it's not as good as the other stuff on the market.

What would of you done ? I could live without the watch for a couple of weeks and get a free upgrade ? I'm no rush. Got experience the good feeling having it on launch day ,and sold it to some one that really really wanted the watch, good deed for the day I suppose

I would sell my husband's SG for $750 lol. He hasn't been able to even see it yet even though it's been sitting here for a week. So he wouldn't know what he was missing!

I had another coworker notice it at work today. I was typing at the computer, and he said "Is that the Apple watch?" I replied "yep." And then he asked "how much did that cost you?"

I don't really feel comfortable discussing money with most people. I just feel like if they're really curious then they can go check online. So I just ignored his question.

I was also chatting with two other coworkers, when my watch began to receive a call. I saw that it was urgent, so I took out my phone and answered the call. Then I heard one of my coworkers (who kinda jokingly called me a "dork" for getting one) say "You should be able to answer calls on that!"

You of course CAN, although I didn't see it as an appropriate place to answer the call on speaker with my wrist...

Nothing here - no attention at all.

I even had to go to the Apple Store to pick something up - spent damn near 15 minutes playing with the new MacBook with my wrist waving around, and not one employee said anything. Not a word paying at Sbux. It's not like a SS WSB is that discreet.

Oh well, I don't care much for attention, but given the stories on the forum I was a bit surprised. Might be that Canadians are too polite to pipe up!

I have the 38mm Sportts watch with white band. It is so unpretentious that no one, not one person, has said anything about it or given any evidence of having noticed it. I have called it to the attention of two people who I know, and in each case I got an, "Oh, the IWatch [sic]...how nice."

That is fine with me, I'm not the kind of person who wants to boast about my possessions, I just like to use them.

Me too man. Same model and basically no ones noticed. I'm totally fine with that.

At work four people have asked about it,three knew what it was the other person (who is not into tech) said it looked unusual but liked it

Lol. We Canadians are a polite lot of people and my experience has been the exact same...not a single comment about my watch so far. But I have been wearing longer sleeves the past few days so that may have something to do with it but I still use it on a regular basis in public.

Im not surprised though. Between NHL playoffs, the start of cottage season, elections, concerns over the economy, not many Canadians are really tuned into the Apple Watch, even though we were a first wave country. Most of my family knows very to nothing about it (and could care less), and among my friends most know about it but could care less about it (even if they do think it looks quite nice). At least in Canada its just not a great time to launch a new product and get buzz about it. I am sure by the fall (and with the introduction of Apple Pay in Canada), this will change a lot.

For now I'm quite liking being able to wear it and go incognito with it.

I've been stopped in the street and gotten asked about it on the train.

Unsurprisingly the place that people ask me about it the most is the....Apple Store!

----------

How does that work. Do you just show it to the person taking tickets?

Most theaters have a place where you scan the watch and the real tickets print out. At Cinemark the ticket taker scans it with a barcode scanner and let's you in the movie with a normal "#6 is to your right"

I do talks on emerging tech to communities. I planned not to say that I was personally wearing an Apple Watch (who knows the mentality for some). They asked though and I showed them. There was a collective "oooh" from everyone. I loved it!

Also used apple pay and the clerk was like, "dude, that's awesome!"
All positive so far!

Not a ton of attention for me, mostly at locations where I've used it to pay (Starbucks, Panera). Used Apple Pay at Panera and cashier commented 'Very cool..' Incidentally, payment processed very quickly on the first try--something that isn't always true at Panera when paying with my 6+.

My waitress at a restaurant did stop to chat about it for a good 10 minutes when I was paying my bill. She was quite familiar with it, says she's a gadget freak and asked a bunch of questions, more functionality specific than casual observers would make.

All postive comments/impressions so far.

I love that I can load my hockey tickets in to passbook and just show the watch at the turnstile (the ticket pops up based on location). The ticket scanner folks have been very impressed. They were just getting used to us having them scan the tickets from passbook on our phones. :)

Day 2 and have already been asked twice "Do you need it?"

Well of course not, why would I need a watch?

People be acting like a $600 watch warrants wants vs necessity. All the while, the bit$# was holding a Louis Vuitton bag. Not that I have anything against that as I like LV, just the irony of her question and lack of ability to see that.

Used it several times at Starbucks and not surprisingly, their people were not surprised (that company always seems to let their employees of all the new tech stuff first) and several liked it or thought it was cool. (Aside from the "How did you get it already???" comments.)
What surprised me was I went into a Dunkin Donuts and the guy behind the counter did not even bat an eyelash. And DD took SO LONG to explain to their employees that I could pay with the Passbook version of the DD Card and not just the one "with the rotating cup" on it (their own app).
Some friends - and a few people at work - noticed it (well, the people at work I sort of showed them) and they were either fascinated or had that "I WANT ONE!!!" reaction.

My friend and her cat have an Apple watch. My friend has an ss while the cat has the sports. I don't know how to react to that.

Worker at whole foods caught me reading a text from my wife today and was so fascinated and excited when I told him it worked on the iP5. He said he's excited to try and get one now. I told him of the slight backlog but he then said it'll give him a couple of paycheck stop save a little more for it.

hmm.... the correct reaction would be somewhere between 'perturbed' and 'confused'.

Does she attach the watch to the cat...? If so, I would add 'alarmed'.

Does anyone have a polite way of correcting someone calling it the iwatch? I hate people calling it that

I find it amusing as hell that people have noticed the watch as it is so unassuming. Apple has done a better job of advertising than I suspected.

High end watches are beautifully crafted and have hundreds of years of history behind them.

That "history" is worth more than those watches. Watches are just things. I dont care about the back story tbqh. An ugly watch is an ugly watch. I dont care if it is rolex and they have "history". What does that even mean? And why is that useful in the context I plan to use the watch in? There are many things and beliefs etc that had "history" behind them but at somepoint you need to evolve and progress beyond "history".you are supposed to learn from history not use it as a crutch to keep you from progressing.
