Purchase a 5c until my 5s comes?

What do you think of 5c purchase and refund when 5s arrives?

Besides the color and the plastic back of 5c, is Iphone 5 and 5c technically the same. So you don't need to get a 5c, because you already have a iphone 5 that you can play with.

What do you want to play with your 5c?

-It does not have a Touch ID
-Camera doest not have two tone flash
-Processor is the same with your iphone 5
-Camera does not have burst mode.
-M7 is not even included in 5c

More than that, you won't notice the A7/M7/64-bit stuff one bit at first. It'll take some better photos, and touch-ID is nice. No real toys to play with on the 5S over the 5 either for very long.

I think OP just wants to drive to Apple store, buy something, unbox it, and return it.

Instead of buying and returning an iPhone 5C, which is basically the same phone you have now, get a hobby and wait it out like everybody else. That's life, and complaining about what Apple should have done isn't going to change anything. That's the past, and you're still going to be waiting about a month for your phone. Do you usually have things just given to you at your request? Have you never had to wait in your life for anything? I'd have a little more sympathy if your phone was old and half dead, but no... you've got a perfectly working iPhone 5.
 
There are plenty of threads open already for venting about the wait so I can only think of one reason you opened this one....you've said money isn't an issue for you and you want everyone here to know it isn't for you either. ;-)

I could understand if OP was on a 4/4S, but from a 5 to 5C isn't going to entertain you for very long. Maybe the drive to the store is what you are really looking forward to most. :D

As for availability, I do agree it could have been made better.

But the loaner-car comparison? I've never bought a brand new car and have had the dealership lend me one until it comes in... and I've waited 16 weeks for a vehicle before. They don't owe you a loaner unless they're removing your current device from service. :rolleyes:

And if they want to stop impatient children like the OP they WILL change it. Until they do though, he is doing nothing wrong.

People abuse the system. Sucks, but it's the responsibility of the retailer to stop it, and so far they've given no indication they even care at this point.

Let the baby have his bottle. It's the rules, and he's doing nothing wrong (except confirming assumptions about his personality). It's all good.
 
You have an iPhone 5. Holy crap you can't wait two more weeks? You'd rather buy a phone that's the same as your iPhone 5 in a plastic case and then return it in two weeks when the 5S that's only marginally better than your 5 gets here?

Honestly if you have the 5 there is no point.

I did this on accident because my local best buy guaranteed me a 5S on launch weekend so I sold my 5, went back when they said they would have it and low and behold they wont be getting that model for a long time.

So I bought a 5c with them knowing I would be returning it soon. It was horrible, it was like paying for a worse version of a phone I already bought once. I returned it a few days later and just lived without a phone for a few days until I found a 5s to buy.

If it were me I would just keep using the 5, you wont get that new phone feeling with the 5c.

thanks for your input. out of curiousity, did you get a full refund back? how long was the return period and where did you buy it, bestbuy?

I got in line at 7am on launch day, store opened at 8am, went in and bought a 5s and 2 5c iPhones and was out before 9am. I took the day off work, but I could've just worked that day. I was done SO fast.

By Sunday, I recalled why I hate black screens on iPhones. I found a white/silver 5s online at Apple on Monday, in stock nearby. Ordered it. Picked up in store. Returned my black/gray to AT&T.

This was all done within 3 days of launch.

If you really wanted a phone quickly? You could have found one.

Me, I didn't try to find a gold phone. Did not want one.

If you are waiting this long, I assume it is for gold.

Be patient. When the white iPhone 4 was delayed by months, I got a black. I wound up getting a white when they finally arrived and passing off my black to my husband. Point is, don't buy a phone you know you plan to return. It's right up there with buying a nice suit or dress and wearing it with the tags on so you can return it later.

I felt bad returning my black/gray 5s, and I really thought I'd be keeping it when I bought it. But, it was a 64GB phone and I was aggravated by day 3 of wiping the screen down. Beautiful phone, though.

The 5c is a nice phone if you have a 4s or lower. Otherwise, not much point.

bought it at best buy, the normal return period is 14 days for mobile phones there, but I am a reward zone premier silver member so I have a 45 day return policy.

Best buy does not charge restocking fees as far as I know.
 
it's all the gold color.. that's the difference. depending on where you live too.. in my area, there's no single place carrying the gold.

Stop whining, cancel your 5s order, and go order the newest droid phone. There are thousands of people out there that are willing to wait for their 5s, who understand that demand trumps supply with every new iphone release. Grow up a little. Brush up on your syntax. Gee, maybe your 5S will get lost in transit and you'll have to pay a restocking fee on the 5C, or maybe they won't even take it back. Now THAT would be funny.
