Purported Schematic Suggests 'iPhone 6s' Could Be Slightly Thicker, Retain Home Button

An astute observer will still be able to tell the differences between S models and their predecessor.

iPhone 3GS - text on back was in glossy white
iPhone 4S - antenna line breaks were symmetric on both sides
iPhone 5s - Touch ID sensor on front.

Yup, bothers me enough not to buy it. That and the antenna breaks. For a company that are all about aesthetics, (apparently), the 6 is a travesty.

There is an easy way to get rid of it. A thicker phone. I’d prefer that.
lol iPhone 6 is probably the best phone that has ever existed.

I'm using a 4S. I hate it and want to upgrade. But my fear is the lightning connector will change to a USB-C by the iPhone 7. Anyone have thoughts on that? Heck if the connectors will all change to USB-C I would love to upgrade my iMac, iPad, and iPhones all at the same time.

So one article says no change to body, this one does. Whatever, wake me up in October.
Haha. True! Wake me up September 2016 when the iPhone 7 rumors are fresh and reliable. I not upgrading this year anyway.

I'm afraid .2mm is not enough to get rid of the protruding camera. It is only a small difference we'll barely notice

Could camera improvements + this increase in thickness mean there is no more protruding camera?

I guess that'll be a change they'll leave for iPhone 7.

Also, people saying this is a result of Jony stepping away: it's just happened! Apple have the iPhone 6S finished, and the iPhone 7 nearly finished.

The first new design made with current management setup will be iPhone 8.

Hey Tim, I'm actually pretty serious, if it doesn't ship with 2GB of RAM, I'm not buying it.

As long as Apple continues to care more about Tim getting a new mansion, and appeasing Carl Ichan types rather than my user experience, I'll keep getting a competitor's product.

I'm starting to get excited for the 6s now! :D Come on September!

September is patiently awaiting it's turn after July and August. Time moves for no man.

Let's hope that Apple comes to its senses and bring out a 4" iPhone 6s with great battery life. Perhaps we should ask Taylor Swift to write an open letter.

I'm with you on both points - hate the antenna breaks and kinda dislike the protruding camera (and I don't much care for the overall rounded look of the phone either, although it does feel nice).

I do like the thinness though, I'd be happy if they keep making it thinner, but some camera innovation means no more protrusion. I don't actually care about a better camera.
