If it turns out to be rectangular, they've already lost in my world.

With the Moto 360 and the new announced LG watch looking so pretty.

Whoa innovation! A square watch.... basically taking the easy way out. Moto 360/new lg watch look a lot better. Plus why is that thing so thick?

Why do people always use a cheap Android camera to take these photos?
Because it's whatever small camera they can smuggle into the restricted areas to take the photos. You just can't waltz in with your favourite SLR in a huge bag and expect not to have it confiscated.

If it's truly waterproof, this is big.

I posted just yesterday in the other iWatch thread that I'd be shocked if this wasn't waterproof for at least 10 meters. Pretty cool :p You can't have health kit and all that stuff without it being waterproof.

This is going to be cool. Now all we need to hear is that it has its own heart rate sensor and hopefully it's as accurate as a chest strap or better.

I liked where the moto 360 was going until I saw how large and thick it was. Totally ugly. A square can look good if done right. Just like a circle can look bad when done wrong, in this case, what moto looks like.

So the iWatch is gonna be a thick square block like every other smart watch on the market for the last 3 years...

...exept the Moto 360, that one actually looks really nice.

has ive lost his touch? :(
we shall see tomorrow....
but im not that excited about iphone 6. it looks ok but not exciting anymore. :(
and with this fat watch, its getting depressing.

Apple will introduce something like an iWatch tomorrow.

But I think it will be a hobby. Like the Apple TV.

All those expectations. It just can not be done. For now.

Apple inviting fashion reporters to this event is still the unknown for me. What are fashion reporters needed for if all Apple has done is resurrected the 6th gen iPod nano with straps.

I think it could be wearable technology. Something interwoven into fabric? Who knows.

Its not a rectangle. Its the classic watch form. Look at a rolex, and then look at the BCM Coil Route image. There's lines coming up off the circular area, that will then go down to fix a strap. They've used the classic watch shape, and stuffed in a load of tech, instead of swiss movements.

Our collective consciousness is not ready

When iPhone was first leaked, people thought "what, no physical keyboard?!" When iPad came out people thought it was just an oversized iPhone. People were wrong, Apple was right. Why? They pour 1,000's of hours into research, development and testing. Then they come up with an optimal first-of-a-kind design that "looks" alien to humanity. Then the humanity starts accepting this alien piece of tech, and a year later everyone wants one. This is why we love Apple. :)

If it is square in design, and if I am your average human being, I say UGLY. But I know I'll wear one in less than a year, marvelling at it every time I look at it. :D

I love how opinionated people are about the style of their watch, as they stroll around in cargo shorts, a golf shirt and tennis shoes. The last thing I'd want this iWatch to look like is a ungainly, circular approximation of a watch in the jewelry department at Macy's. No one is going to confuse that for a Rolex.

Circular makes sense for an analogue watch with a circular movement, but square makes a lot of sense for digital. Size is my concern. Lately, my Omega has been staying in the drawer in favor of a simple Casio F-91W, because the Casio is just so lightweight and functional.

Dieter Rams hasn't shied away from square for digital watches, so I'd be shocked if Mr. Ives does.

And where do you put all the technology is something like this? That's what I hate about computer renders. They required zero engineering. Apple is known for being obsessed with thinness. If this device is bulkier it's for a reason - sensors, battery life, etc. Battery life should trump everything.

People don't have unrealistic expectation based on bad mockup renderings. But if casio was able to do this in 1984 - I mean in ancient history when the TV's and everything else was giant and fat, imagine how small and thin should be the Apple watches in 2014.

Thin casio watches with touch screen and multiple functions and with years of battery life from prehistory - available in silver metal and black plastic. Water resistant. Thin and very small

coworker just got one. it is nice. i bit bulky on the watch face but works pretty swell. i'd probably put a gash in the face on day one, i was hoping for something more band-ish like the fuelband/UP24 that wouldnt be so delicate and more a lifestyle device. these bulk looking images here tho, make it look like an ipod nano watch.

Whatever they announce, they have nothing to fear from a watch that reviewers say needs twice-daily charging. Nothing.

Nobody knows anything until it's announced.

Problem is you have just listed all the Braun watches that didn't sell.

The most successful and iconic Braun watch is this one...

And those as well...

This is only possible if the rectangular part is the clip. However, I think it is much more likely that the coil fits inside the circular hole in the base of the rectangular part, as everyone else has assumed. Those lines are just part of the moulding that holds the circle in place.

The problem is in you -- trying to find personal satisfaction and life excitement from mature product categories.

Does your AV receiver depress you?
