Why would you want a phone waterproof to 20m? Shark selfies, come on there's more important details

Wait... does it have a camera too??? :)

But that`s not the point. Can it still be waterproof with speaker and a microphone?

While Johny Ive is a brilliant designer, I'm beginning to think he needs a bit more ambition. Either that or Apple's engineering team need to up their game a little.

I want to see technology that looks barley possible, like something out of a sci-fi movie.

This looks like they just attached a strap to an iPod Nano. :(

Oh well, I guess we will see tomorrow.

As far as I know there was not one leak that ever suggested the display would be round. So I'm not sure why people are surprised by that.

I think it's more because we all saw the 360 and it looked awesome. But yeah there was no indication it would be round

Differnt types.

So the iWatch is gonna be a thick square block like every other smart watch on the market for the last 3 years...

...exept the Moto 360, that one actually looks really nice.

I wear a beautiful Stainless/Gold Eco-Drive from Citizen, the iWatch has to be marketed to different types of people. I think Apple Knows this and we will see/have "5C & 5S" (iPhone) type of choices. iWatch will be colorful for younger spirited people and a stainless/gold/silver jewelry type for business/professional people.

So it took them how many years to make another iPod Nano watch? Because that's what this makes me think of. And that would be highly disappointing. I somehow doubt this rumor is true. Would be funny if Apple started leaking a bunch of stuff today on sites like Reddit just so that if a real leak does show up, we won't know what to believe. Didn't the iPad leak the evening before it was unveiled? Seems like I remember some photo of it clamped to a table in an enclosure, and they showed some of the software. Perhaps they are trying to mitigate that—I hope!

OK, fixed it for you:

The poster claims the iWatch will include a microphone, speaker, and support for Siri, and be waterproof to 20 meters with battery life of just a day.

I have never had the feeling that I had to give up any functions to satisfy some arbitrary design decision.

Oh? The iMac disagrees. As does the MacBook Pro, and I guess the iPod and the upcoming iPhone with the pointy-cam aren't completely agreeing with you either.

Well, technically YOU might not feel that YOU have had to give up on something, but making a desktop thin for no purpose while axing a drive and forcing it to use mobile hardware is pretty much the epitome of form over function.

I don't think people are surprised....after all, Apple hasn't even announced the iwatch yet....it's just that the Moto360 pretty much blows all the other current square/rectangle designs away.

2ATM ~ 20 meters is not water proof. It's water-resistant, and that's even misleading. I wouldn't take a watch that's rated for 2ATM into the shower even. Hell I wouldn't wash my hands with it on.

Yes, how do you think underwater cameras work now? but as someone pointed out before there is a difference between waterproof and water resistant

Coil could be motion Charger

Just looking at the schematic, the coil in the drawing could be a motion charger. It would be smart for the smart watch to generate its own power the way my mechanical watch does. It would allow the watch to be portless and truly waterproof.

I see some similarities here....

Did you feel the same way about floppy drives not being in the first imac? Seriously. The days of CDs and DVDs is over. Get used to it. Makes perfect sense that Apple did away with them in the iMacs and MacBooks. If you really need one, you can always buy an external. Easy solution. Next up? Getting rid of spinning hard drives completely in iMacs. Soon as prices come down. Personally, I can't wait. Good riddance. :)

And can't last half a day. Whomp whomp.

Yeah because a flat tire display and text being cut off looks really nice. I'm hoping Apple designed around function first and foremost. If I'm going to spend hundreds of dollars on something I want it to be useful not just look pretty with crappy battery life.

The M360 does look nice, but I think the LG Watch R looks better. Both run the same OS. The Watch R looks like a traditional watch that can be worn without the geek effect. The Watch R has better battery, better components, but it has a smaller screen reportedly. I also have a feeling it will come with a heftier price tag than the M360.

my thoughts exactly. After seeing the Moto I had hopes that Apple would one-up them. Now, I'm not so sure. I really really hope its not just a resurrected iPod nano.

I want to see technology that looks barely possible, like something out of a sci-fi movie.

Not picking on you, but this is another example of when Apple's love for secrecy can backfire.

Instead of being told what to expect ahead of time, like other companies do to get us used to their limitations, Apple fans instead constantly see concepts that don't have to work in real life.

It can be hard for actual products to live up to all the hype. Nevertheless, buyers usually seem to retrofit their expectations to match reality.

The device will reportedly come in eight different varieties as four "colors" in two sizes each.

I joked the other day that, with Ive and Newson working together, the iWatch would probably come in iPhone 5C colors with a wrist band with holes in it.

Now I'm not so sure it's a joke.
