Maybe you could just sit down. Take a load off and enjoy a good sit while pissing.

That'd be my preference, but then I am a lazy arse. Mind you, it does have it's merits at 2am when you don't want to have to put the light on to see what you're doing and completely wake yourself up.

Something I have been told by a friend who was told it by a lady-friend of his from the U.S. is that women 'back' into the toilet and as a result can fall into the toilet or hurt themselves if the seat isn't down.

I am a woman. I have never fallen into a toilet (seat up OR down). I have never even come close, no matter how inebriated/tired/blind I was. I don't even understand how this is POSSIBLE.

I also am probably amongst the clumsiest people alive. If I don't fall in, I REALLY don't see how anyone else can?
