All my returns were due to screen issue. eg dead pixels and light bleed.
I still thinking Apple need to scrap LCD screens because I had seen three of my work colleague Note 4 screen none of these phone's showing any light bleed or dead pixels the quicker Apple move to AMOLED means less returns.

I've seen dozens of iPhones without any screen issues, so what?
Actually the worst device I have in my home about light bleeding are my son's Galaxy S4 and my Nexus 7.

And I'm very happy about Apple use of true RGB matrix display and not those PenTile panels......

Agreed. My wife and I have had iPhones going all the way to the original and never got one with screen issues, including dead pixels. I can draw two conclusions from this: 1) I have normal standards and 2) anal retentiveness must be a b***h.

There's being anal retentive and then there's plain old faulty goods and there's without doubt more dodgy iPhone 6 screens than any other iPhone before.
I returned a week 49 Space Gray 64GB iPhone 6 as the screen was unevenly lit and the replacement the Genius took out was worse so I've got a refund and I'll wait a bit before trying again.
I've had the iPhone 3, 4, 4S, 5, 5S and briefly a 6 and never had screen backlight issues until now, I also had a Nexus 4 & 5 and the Htc One, all had perfect screens and cost less to buy.
I'm not fussy but I expect a £620 phone to be evenly lit.
Anyway, my son has a perfectly lit (although it's not perfectly flat!) Gold 64GB iPhone 6 so I'll possibly get a good one soon, fingers crossed.

I think there is less people complaining about screens on the note 4 then iPhone 6 I had been with Apple since the iPhone 3G each phone I recieved was a perfect condition dead pixels and light bleed free on the first phone.
But since iPhone 5 Apple QC became worst and worst with scuffs and dead pixels and now with workers sleeping building phones I susprised why we are getting defective phones.

Oh yes, there surely are less people........ buying the Note 4.
Surely workers are much less stressed by the Note 4 assembly line, to fulfill market requests. And, for your information, they are the same workers, being Samsung serviced by Pegatron like Apple....

I agree I do think iPhone 6 works are overworked I given up getting my 6 replacement iPhone each one had screen issue eg dust under screen and dead pixels. I purchased a Note 4 today no light bleed or dust and no dead pixels.
I think Apple needs to rethink about rushing these phones out of production.

It's nothing like back in the iPhone 5 days when those workers didn't give a ****** and allowed obviously nicked and scratched up iPhone 5 units to go into retail boxes and we got threads after threads on this. Apple has clamped down on that and we don't have enough evidence that they're slacking off once again (i.e., we're not getting any more posts on replacement iPhones after iPhones arriving full of defects except those from anal-retentive members). Anecdotal posts like "my 5s was perfect but I keep getting defective iPhone 6" don't count because there are also members who had nothing but trouble with the 5s but got a perfect 6.

.... and a lot of users that got perfect 5S and a perfect 6. ;)

Although the majority of 6 owners get a good one there are plenty duffs out there too. The black iPhone 5 was well known for dings & nicks on the body and the 6 has screen issues. Obviously not all 6s are affected but it's a real issue for some phones. So, just because you, like many people, get a good one, it doesn't mean they're all good.
Fact is, there is a screen manufacturing issue and QC on these is not tight enough for a premium device.

I dispute that the iPhone 6 is well-known for screen issues. Not enough outcry on this forum, at least nothing like the iPhone 5 making their way into the retail boxes full of dings and nicks.

Yeah, true, it's certainly not near the scale of the iPhone 4 yellow screens (which usually sorted itself after a few weeks) & antennagate or the black iPhone 5 with dings & nicks but there's a few threads about the iPhone 6 screen issues.
For me to get 2 faulty iPhone 6s I'm either extremely unlucky or there's quite a few duffs coming through.

This pic is the 1st one I received, the top right was the most noticeable during use and the replacement was much worse.

The fact that the Genius could see it and happily exchanged/refunded says something.

:apple: has a thing for yellow screens.
Everyone knows that.

QC issues with iPhone 6

To be fair mine actually looked whiter, it's just the exposure of the photo with the bright screen against the darker bezel and table. The colour/whites weren't as good as the Htc One but I was ok with that. The uneven light was the problem.

The 6 is the first iPhone I have owned that has been manufactured by Pegatron rather than Foxconn and the build quality is perfection. Absolute perfection. Home button solid, volume buttons solid, no rattles, power button solid. Seemless sides, vibrate is strong but quitet. Volume loud and clear speaker and earpiece.

If you don't mind me asking, what's the factory number?

Thanks. I didn't know that Peagtron was manufacturing the iPhone 6. You are lucky. Foxconn sucks in my opinion. I've been through three iPhone 6s and it is either overheating issues or wobbly buttons; all Foxconn. The one that I have now is ok but the screen isn't great.

I've never been happier with an iPhone. Sorry you've had problems.

I am forced by my 6 plus' perfection into holding onto its 64 gigs instead of taking a chance on swapping to a 128 gig model instead.

I don't think the 6plus phones seem to be having the same QC issues. My 128 gig Plus is aesthetically perfect. Functionally, I'm having a couple of issues here and there, but I think I've got a software issue going on.

The last time I looked really hard at the phones at the Apple Store with an eye to considering swapping the Plus for the smaller 6, the Plus display models were all uniformly flawless but the 6's had a wide variance in screen tint, backlight uniformity and even clarity of display. One of the 6's inexplicably had a rather blurry display even after my husband checked the settings to make sure it was set up the same as the other display models.

Anyway I stuck with my flawless 6plus. My mute switch is maybe more loose than I'm used to on my 5s but really, I don't use it but once a day so I'm not going to care about that as long as it works.

I do have to have a very uniformly lit and tinted display or it will set off my migraine problem after about 20 minutes of reading. Fortunately I've always gotten one. My husband has not been so lucky with his IPads but our IPhone screens have all been good.

I read your post and acted on it, trading mine in for a 128 Gig. I'm happy now! These later plus phones are being made very well. My screen has zero bad pixels and other items to check are proving to be in good order.

I have the washer issue covering 1/4 or more of my FaceTime camera hole. I'd love to get a replacement, but I am concerned by the lighting issues others have experienced.

The most trouble I had was the original iPhone as many of them had negative black screens.

My iPhone 5 arrived nicked out of the box on the back, but because of the home button going dead about 10 months in, I got a perfect replacement for that one.

My iPhone 5S was perfect.

I love my iPhone 6 more than any iPhone. The washer in the FaceTime camera hole really bugs me now. I'm even considering a 6 Plus because of it, but I wouldn't feel comfortable selling the 6 with the washer visible in the FaceTime hole.

After having to reject 2x 64GB iPhone 6 Space Grays because of uneven backlighting I finally got a fault free iPhone 6 today from the local Apple Store. The last 2 were both 64GB Week 49 C3s but this one is a 128GB Week 51 C7 Space Gray.
It was a bit of a pain but I've got a keeper now.

Lol. Yellow screens are yellow forever. No single yellow screen has ever become "white". Only small yellow blotches which Engadget reported actually disappeared.
