The same number of issues here. He may have just provided Retina buttons.

many of the gestures don't work. if the developer can integrate his extension with certains gestures to further make the experience more effortless, he'd have a winner.

Indeed! I had in mind a Windows 7-esque revoling 3d windows (windows key and tab) with a 4/5 finger swipe.

Also would love, love, LOVE to see a "keep window on top" button.

Is there a way to display multiple web pages, or does it just display multiple apps? If you can, I can't figure it out. Other than that I'm loving Quasar.

No only one copy of one app open at a time. But that doesn't stop you downloading another Web browser and having both that and safari open. There are loads of free ones too, personally I use Mercury.

You can move them where you like. But the current window will overlap the non-active windows if you place it partially (or completely) on top.

Video watching tip.

Since I use the iPad in landscape 90% of the time I set up the windows in landscape before, but finally tried portrait, and wow it is much better for watching 16:9 video.

Turn off the boundaries, put Netflix on top with the upper black bar past the screen, safari on the bottom and it naturally covers up just the lower black bar of the video. 100% of screen space used, perfect.
 
Personally I don't really like, or have much use for this tweak. I tried it for a while, but the iPad is just too small for multi-viewing. I always full sized apps so it was redundant to me. There also seemed to be some glitches where, even though I'd be in landscape mode, when I double tapped the home button it'd come up as though in portrait. It also completely froze up once and after a few minutes I had a message saying "mobile substrate has saved your iPad" or something like that.

All in all, it's a cool idea, and clearly some people have a use for it, just not I. :)
 
I like it and has so far worked on a IP3. Id does need to have a cooler queue selection feature.

Would like to not have to go to the App queue all the time...dont see why the background has to be displabled when a window is open.
 
Fix for iPad 3 Quasar freezing

Turn lock screen bounds setting off and this will fix the freezing and FaceTime set to off untill update.

Great tweak; except I have 1 gripe with it.
It can only run iPhone apps at iPhone resolution. There's no way (That I've found) to put them at 2x like you can without this tweak.
It's a pretty major problem for me actually because I have quite a few iPhone resolution apps :/
Anyone know of a fix for this?
 
Had the chance to try this briefly - although it seemed stable, the touch input was very jittery and unpredictable. I would often touch somewhere, only to have some other, completely random area react. Messes with scrolling also.

Seemed to be the newest version, and he had no ther tweaks intalled that could interfere. Would probably buy it myself if this got fixed, the concept is certainly impressive.
 
I tried it out, but for $9.99 it just doesn't seem polished enough. I agree the way to switch apps is annoying, the opening animation is cheesy, it just over all feels very unfinished. It is a good idea though and I am sure it will improve over time.

Yeah that drives me bonkers as well. I don't use too many iPhone apps on a regular basis, but the one I do, not able to go full screen kills it. But, at the same time, I prefer my iPad in landscape, so being able to open iPhone apps without having to rotate the iPad is nice.

Yeah, I noticed while playing solitaire the cards would flicker all over the window when I was dragging them to their spots. Same thing on Words w/ Friends.
 
Im noticing that since I installed this on my NEW IPAD (ipad 3), more and more programs are freezing. For instance, HANGING WITH FRIENDS loads ip and then it freezes and I can ONLY do the HOME BUTTON/POWER BUTTON to turn off the ipad. If I turn off Quasar, everything works. Is there any fix for this or did I waste $10 that I cant get refunded?

Looks like quasar has all kinds of issues.. how do we get a refund???
 
I'm not able to set a activator action to quasar.. it won't appear In the app list. Any one have any ideas

Wish list for future additions:

- Fix of the unreliable touch bug,

- Remembering size + position of each app's window (at the moment, they just reset to default size when reopened.)

- A slight shadow around each window would be very helpful (for when they overlap each other.)

Crazy bonus suggestion: Making it work with a screen-wide keyboard, instead of the keyboards appearing in the windows themselves (maybe by emulating BT keyboard?) would be kööl!
(Would probably need to "lift the screen", like the multitasking tray, in cases where the keyboard would otherwise obscure the window, though. Technically far-fetched, I know!)
