Huh, didn't realize this wasn't possible already. Didn't iChat allow group video conversations?
Yes, we found it great for letting both sets of grandparents be part of Christmas morning years ago, then Apple dropped it from later versions.

I still use Hangouts if I use my Nexus 5X.

Point is: some people on android MAY be using Hangouts, or they MAY be using Duo... or of course, both/neither.
With Apple- you know for certain that everyone that owns an iPhone, has iMessage.
I was just poking fun at the fact that the fragmentation in Android is so bad that apparently, to get the features of a rumored iMessage update, you'd have to use an older Google app that never really took off (& make sure the other parties all are using it as well), eschewing their "latest & greatest".

With this and the iPhone facial recognition rumours lately, I wonder if there is a 'Time to face the future' iOS event incoming... ;)

But while I can see both things being very useful, I'd just like to say to technology in general: please get out of my face! I'm sure Apple will make it optional, but it's stuff like the Minority Report-style advertising kiosks treating our faces like browser cookies I am not looking forward to.

Yes you are, they changed that a few years ago (around iOS 6 I think).

I didn't know they had changed it until I got my iPhone 6 and one of friends Facetimed me while I was in the supermarket on 4G! I was, like, how is this possible???

revolutionary! Apple invented it! blah blah blah.

Should have been rolled out a year or two tops after FT was originally rolled out.

This is great (if it actually happens)! All I'll have to do between now and then is find another friend to talk to...

Hangouts?
I thought Android users were supposed to be on Duo now.
Which, incidentally, does NOT support group video chat.

I'm only using it for that feature...especially I can call Android and iPhone friends together, or with Skype whatever possible... ;)
Don't know why Duo does not have this anyway!

LOL I thought FaceTime could already do this?? Maybe just on OSX? I don't use FaceTime at all - probably because you never know if someone is on cell data and will eat up their data with a video call.

Whaaaat, Apple is adding back a capability that was pulled years ago?!? Clearly a false rumor.

Hopefully this is true. It would also make sense if Apple is to focus on iPad features this year (Although it wouldn't be exclusive to iPad)
Thats what I thought, they show a picture of two people chatting in a group chat post.
Picture should have multiple people in different squares in the big screen and the user of the phone in the small picture in picture.

This will be a nice feature for everyone connected to the Apple ecosystem

The airheads in that stock photo are the new target demograph for Apple

Emojis - woohoo ! Pink watch bands - Oh Yeah !!! What's a mac ?

Lol just noticed that.
