Why would they continue selling the iPhone SE if it will no longer be supported later this year?

Makes no sense.... yet, I've come to expect such things from Apple.
Apple are apparently still selling the se from it’s clearance site for $249. Quite happy to take your money and then no more support. I have an se and is a great little phone. My wife has the 6, also a great little phone. Size wise, these are perfect for what we need. If there is no replacement in this size range we will have to turn to the dark side, Android. God forbid.

I am pretty certain Apple will still be supporting the SE. If they cut off the A9, that would be cutting off three generations of chips in one swoop -- that is extremely unlikely, and would completely flop on the image that Apple set last year with iOS 12 that they are trying to support their devices for longer.

Because along with the SE, the 6s, 6s Plus, and the iPad 2017 all run on the A9 -- that's cutting off a lot of users. And then if they go by generation, that would include cutting off the first gen iPad Pro with the A9X. So, to reiterate, I think it's highly unlikely the A9 will be cutoff :)

I can see the 5S getting the chop but the 6 and 6S? Nah I just can't see that happening although I reckon I can see the 6 getting the chop in 2020 however.

6s and 6s plus are the oldest able to get iOS 13

I think the 5s, 6 and 6 plus are reasonable candidates for the chopping block (if the 5s hadn't got an extra year with 12 the 6 series would be dropped this year anyway). The 6S is a much more capable phone though so I'm not sure Apple would really want to cut it's support short?
