You should get it, but NOT from the ADC Store if you are a student. It costs $349 from the ADC store, but $249 if bought from the educational store.

Hi is there anybody from the UK here who has experience with the ADC and the discount? I'm planning on buying a new MBP and it would cost me GBP 1205 in the UK HE store but this includes full three year warranty (EMEA CC-HE contract uplift). Also do all these documents and CDs you get with your membership ship to addresses outside of the US or do non US residents get their stuff online (obviously not the t-shirt)?

I spoke to the Apple store Uk on the phone the other night. He quoted me up for a Mac Pro and some software on both the ACD Student and just UKHE and the UKHE is cheaper.

I would like to know the same. If I can get a 20% discount using my ADC Student Membership I will buy the basic MacBook Pro this month, if not I'm afraid that being a poor student will make it difficult for me to buy one. Can somebody confirm the 20% discount on the basic MBP?

ADC hardware store down?

Hey all,
I was approved for my student discount last night (ie went from pending to approved in assests) and was all set to order this morning. The ADC hardware store is down though. Anyone else notice this? Am I looking in the wrong place? I assume it has something to do with the macbook announcement this morning?

I just purchased the ADC Student Discount. In the morning I'm going to fax my ID and schedule from this semester. I also updated my profile with my school and ID #. On the directions it says something about an e-mail and a verification number, but I tried every number and nothing worked. Anyone know anything about this?

Looking forward to buying the MBP C2D once I'm approved.

Thanks for all the advice on this thread!

well I got my activation key today. put that in. faxed my ID and Schedule. It says pending on the site, but I can get into the ADC website and look at everything I can buy. Am I missing something?

Everyone can look at the store, but it shouldn't let your purchase go through until you get verified.

sweet, just called them and they activated it immediately.

thanks for all the info everyone!

time to buy my MBP! just can't decide to ship it to my home address or my address at school. I'll be going home in mid-December and would hate for it to be shipped to school and I'd have to come back here to get it.

Buy MBP with ADC, then care plan with Edu?

Hi all, just wondering if it is possible to purchase a computer with the student ADC discount (which seems like a no-brainer) and then use the educational discount after recieving the computer to purchase the applecare plan. thanks.

Yes. When you enter the Apple educational store on the left side menu under "Mac Accessories" you'll see a link for "Applecare and .Mac", click that and you'll see the different Applecares you can purchase.

I thought you had to fax them the proof of being a student to be activated. I faxed them the info last night. Do I need to call too?

You shouldn't have to call them...it should show up in your active assets within a few hours. I'd imagine a quick call might get you bumped up in line and speed the process along, but it shouldn't take very long even if you don't call.

So, can it be confirmed by a few people that I will recieve Leopard as part of being a student developer? If this is true, I really don't know how to decide if I should buy a MBP now, or wait till another revision, which wouldn't be till at least April/May. My main concern is the video card, is teh 256 X1600 an okay card, or should I wait for an upgrade?

Quick question about ADC student. If I were to buy it now, would I get leopard when it is released? It wouldnt make much sense to get Tiger as there are no PPC macs being sold in the store (other than refurb).
