there's no notch because there's giant god damn bar.
enough with ad wars between two companies. Focus on your own products, guys.
I dont think Apple has made reference to any samsung product in their ads have they? after that whole Mac vs. PC campaign back in the days their ads have been focusing on what their products do only, unless I missed something.
Exactly! The only proper screen shape is a rectangle. This phone effectively has four [small] notches ruining the screen's usability. Not saying it's worse than Apple's horrid notch design, but it is still wrong.I'd call their "notch" those ridiculous round-overs on the edges of the screen
Apple belittles the competition by making far superior products and being, by far, the most successful tech company. The "competition" can only dream of that level of success. Are you serious ... Apple belittles the competition all the time, they are experts in the art of disrespect.
Just walk into any Apple store to hear their rants about Samsung, Microsoft Windows and every other company that makes competing products.

The forehead on the S9 looks uglier to me than the notch.
Well, they subliminally did with that “come to apple side” ad.I dont think Apple has made reference to any samsung product in their ads have they? after that whole Mac vs. PC campaign back in the days their ads have been focusing on what their products do only, unless I missed something.
I see Samsung up to their usual Xerox-copying... not saying they don't come up with new coolness here and there, but this phone is not that.

Their animoji ripoff is hilariously bad...like something I'd expect to see in an episode of Silicon Valley.
Anyone hanging around here will think the notch is a crime against humanity, but most people don't actually care-- they want to see the state of the art move forward. If your laugh line boils down to "we couldn't figure out how to do anything better so applaud us for giving you the same as last year", the audience is left underwhelmed. After the Notch joke it was quiet for what seemed like forever.
Funny you mentioned "Xerox"I see Samsung up to their usual Xerox-copying... not saying they don't come up with new coolness here and there, but this phone is not that.
