enough with ad wars between two companies. Focus on your own products, guys.

I dont think Apple has made reference to any samsung product in their ads have they? after that whole Mac vs. PC campaign back in the days their ads have been focusing on what their products do only, unless I missed something.

Yeah, since those super clingy Mac vs PC ads, I don't think Apple has really made any ads that attack their competitors. It's mostly been a Samsung thing lately. Personally I think it just shows that Samsung is really worried about Apple, while Apple doesn't care, at least not publicly.

I mean, we all remember the Note 7 event where they ragged on the iPhone. That literally blew up on them :p

I'd call their "notch" those ridiculous round-overs on the edges of the screen
Exactly! The only proper screen shape is a rectangle. This phone effectively has four [small] notches ruining the screen's usability. Not saying it's worse than Apple's horrid notch design, but it is still wrong.

Are you serious ... Apple belittles the competition all the time, they are experts in the art of disrespect.

Just walk into any Apple store to hear their rants about Samsung, Microsoft Windows and every other company that makes competing products.
Apple belittles the competition by making far superior products and being, by far, the most successful tech company. The "competition" can only dream of that level of success.

When you're #3 it's expected that you talk smack like in UFC, boxing, sports, etc. Samsung is #1 so they have to be a bit more humble and talking smack will do more harm than good like how contender Ronda Rousey showed poor sportsmanship not touching gloves making her look much more of an ahat after getting the beat down by Nunes. Difference is fans will continue to be your fans if you're #1 and lose being humble vs abandoning if you're an ahat.

The forehead on the S9 looks uglier to me than the notch.

Apple extremist: Triggered the ports don't line up on the bottom of the phone!

Well, they subliminally did with that “come to apple side” ad.

I can understand some joking can be funny at times, but it gets a little redundant with the lame jokes, they’re still needs to be out a status level of professionalism exhibited from Samsung.

At least they didn't succumb to the peer pressure and put a notch at the top.

The S9 obviously still uses Android. Android users are Google drones. Android features will always be limited to what they can do for Google. Android is the privacy destroyer.

The most user centric device is/was a BlackBerry running BB10.

I see Samsung up to their usual Xerox-copying... not saying they don't come up with new coolness here and there, but this phone is not that.

Are you for real. Rhetorical question. After Apple made the exact same design of chin/home button, forehead & side bezle for 10 straight years. Who added that notch last year & says they'll shave maybe a millimeter off of it this year. This is how you choose to view the innovation, or there lack of. Wow.

Their animoji ripoff is hilariously bad...like something I'd expect to see in an episode of Silicon Valley.

You do realize Apple is being sued for copying an already trademarked design?

I do like Samsung keynotes better, because when it came to "there is no notch" remark about the X, there was silence...

No laughter from the crowd,,, just "utter silence"

Dunno if anyone was just trying to grasp that concept, or weather they didn't wanna nudge it on.

If this was an Apple keynote, there'd be hysterics going on by now.

After the Notch joke it was quiet for what seemed like forever.
Anyone hanging around here will think the notch is a crime against humanity, but most people don't actually care-- they want to see the state of the art move forward. If your laugh line boils down to "we couldn't figure out how to do anything better so applaud us for giving you the same as last year", the audience is left underwhelmed.

Tout how you've innovated a new solution to a competitors problem, not how you failed to innovate one. "Aren't you glad we didn't try" isn't a crowd pleaser...

Complaints about the notch are mostly manufactured outrage. It sounds like Samsung thought it was a badge of tribal affiliation. It's not. It's something to complain about while people wait for something better.
