Radio Shack iPhone 5 pre order

definitely worth the wait!
I love everything about it and there isn't (so far) a single thing wrong with it
no scuffs or anything!
the RadioShack employee even let me be the one to take it out of the box
Excellent-get a case for it asap.I left the plastic that's on the back on the phone even though it's in a case.

Trust me. Not in Indianapolis. I've was online right at 10pm every night this week. Nothing. Didn't wait online last night since I was out -- might try again tonight but not expecting any good news.
I did go ahead and get a case.

called radio shack yesterday and they didn't have any in
got a call this morning from a radio shack store store that i didn't pre order from that is in the area. the manager said he got a call from the manager of the store i originally pre ordered from and said he had a 32gb AT&T in stock. I told him I would pick up around 2 today.
not even 15 minutes later, the manager of the store i originally pre ordered from called and said they had my pre order in.
i went home, backed up my 4, restored it to ios6 (was jailbroken on 5.0.1), went to the store and was out in 20-30 min with iphone 5 in hand
glad this is finally over with. good luck to everyone else playing the waiting game

Did Radio Shack activate your iPhone? I'm going tomorrow to buy one but will not buy if they try and mess with my Verizon account. Heard shady stuff about Radio Shack...

How to buy an unlocked (AT&T) iPhone 5 from Radio Shack?
I am on T-mobile and planning to buy a full priced AT&T unlocked model. Will Radio Shack sell me an unlocked one without an AT&T account number? Or would I need to go through the Apple store for this?

Thanks. I think im staying away from radio shack...not sure why but I don't trust them with my account info. Never had to activate an iPhone in store usually just activate it out of the box. Am I paranoid for no reason?
It's a shame this thread is coming to an end. I enjoy unleashing on radio shack after their dishonesty with the iphone 5 PO. Even though I found my iphone 5 after five days of lies from RS, they still havnt called to say they have mine in. I will never use radio shack again as they got away with robbing me 50 bucks.
Be careful for those of you getting the 5 from Radio Shack. The manager changed my entire plan. He added the enterprise data plan to my already unlimited data i had from being grandfathered in from my 3gs. I was charged pro rated data for the enterprise plan along with the regular charge of the enterprise data plan, totaling roughly $70 in data alone. That plus my regular minutes, messaging, and the one time upgrade fee had my payment at over $200. Went to AT&T store to get it fixed. Just a heads up to be aware of what Radio Shack is trying to do
I didn't preorder from RS, but I did put my name on a wait list for a 32GB Black AT&T. They called yesterday to say they got some phones in but all the AT&T ones went to preorder customers and they had Sprint available...
They didn't rob you of $50, you have a $50 gift card. There's plenty of good stuff to get at RS, just walk in, there's always things on ridiculous clearance price.
And it sucks you had a bad experience, but plenty of other people had perfectly acceptable experiences (considering it's a retail store, it's RS, etc). I didn't get my phone on launch day but they never promised I would. I got it a week after, which considering the amount of work I did, and when I ordered, and that I got a 32gb, is pretty reasonable.
I bet no one reading this is actually in the DFW and close to Arlington, but I just looked online and it says there are some in stock. If I didn't just pay $400 yesterday for fence repair I'd be asking to leave work for a quick break to go get one

They have to activate at the store to make sure it's up and running before you leave. Usually the people who don't want it activated in the store commit fraud. They get the phone at the discount price, cancel their service, and sell the phone for retail.
Thats so weird that I got my phone in New York City and theres none in Indianapolis.

I am also on T-mobile and have been waiting for weeks to get the iphone 5.Our best chance is to get it at the apple store, but when you ask apple employees, they say its out of stock. THIS IS FALSE. If they were out of stock, how do people preorder them online and get them the next day(if they manage to get it online in between 10pm-4am)? They only say that because pre-orders have priority and so they stock that they do have, they go to preorders.I have no idea when the next batch of off-contract- iphone 5 are available(and apparently the apple employees dont either...whats the point of working at an apple store if you know nothing) but i am guessing we have to wait a few more weeks T_T
The on-line ordering system only allows purchasing an iPhone 5 tagged to one of 3 wireless providers. I understand many people booked an AT&T phone and then went and said they are not activating and bought for full price and then unlocked the phone on iTunes. When Apple released the iPhone 5, their press release said unlocked phones would not be available for "several weeks". So the plan is to meet the demand of customers of wireless providers who are Apple partners. Later they will start selling to those who want to purchase on cash. And that would include tourists coming in to the US to buy phones for full price because the duty here is low.
We will need to be patient until middle of November. Hopefully by then, the teething problems of slow wi-fi speed in some, manufacturing process scuff marks in black phones, isolated cases of dust or scratch inside the camera lens etc will be sorted out. So waiting is not a bad idea!

My RS still hasn't called or got mine in. I PO on 9/17. Even though its not entirely their fault ill never do a PO with them again. Good thin I found one at wal Mart when I did
