RADON new browser PLEASE try it

Many thanks for the review,just a couple of points you say your home page isnt working did you set it as http:// whatever as this should work.The home button should be working as it does on mine

I think you guys are taking the minimalist approach a little bit too far. This doesn't feel any faster than Safari, there are no tabs - I can't even open links in new windows, I can't download anything, and the whole interface seems unrefined. Obviously those are unintentional, but then you shouldn't be considering yourself at a version 1.0 stage. Or a 1.5.

And I have to reiterate previous posters - those icons are just horrid. Not only is the design just totally not Mac-like, but for some reason whoever designed them chose to shave off a layer of pixels from the top, bottom, and both sides:

Nothing personal - just a critical review to help them take their product in the right direction. For now, I'm (still) sticking with Safari.

I agree, and now with the new version voor tiger the buttons look uglier and sometimes it just doesn't work at all. Safari is in my case much faster!

No, that is far too much work. Why start a thread here if you don't want comments?
Why does this all feel like some kind of gimmick to get downloads numbers, and not actual "views" as were requested in the first post?
Don't higher download counts translate to higher search rankings on download sites such as VersionTracker?

Again thanks for the reply,My intention right from the start was to make a post asking members to post there views on Radon this is what the developers asked of me and not for download counts
It was not my idea to post a link to the developer that was done a few posts ago
It was/has not been my intention to turn this post into some sort of gimmick again im only the messenger
The download stats i posted to show/tell members how well Radon is doing in the download stakes for those sites and for no other reason
Im sorry you feel this way but it was unintentional,im only a dumb tester & messenger

I'm in agreement with this.
At the moment I can't tell who's involved, what's going on, or anything. There are too many people posting in this thread that are the 'developer' or speaking on the developer's behalf.
Can we have one person please, it's getting too confusing.
I'm curious which benchmarks you used exactly to claim your browser is faster than the others. The Radon website states:
Nothing has been provided to prove that.. except your word, so how are we supposed to not just take your word for it?
Anyway I'm not really interested, the way this was brought up just smells a little... scam-ish to me. Also it seems this should be in a sort of private testing stage as the browser is definitely in an alpha state and not a beta state.

For real. There are 3 or 4 threads now about it. The way it was introduced was just so odd, and coupled with the awful spelling in the macupdate.com comments steered me away from trying it.
Ive now gotta agree with this also,but as originally stated im only a tester who was asked by the developers to get MR members views on Radon
Its becoming clear things are snowballing out of control,i will have to once again contact the developers as its up to them to let members know what stages of development Radon is at.
If i get nominated fine but at present im not getting enough help to deal with the barrage and to be honest i feel a bit let down by all this

That was probably it. I think I had just put in www.google.com and not http://...
Odd that when you go back to the preferences, it doesn't retain the current homepage url. It says (in gray) myfavoriteplace.com or something like that.

First off, there are three people who are have been helping people with question on this topic. This will hopefully clear confusion up. They are:

there we go, reason we got three seperate people coming to this topic to answer questions, is well one person cant be online ALL the time, and we want to get answers to you guys as quickly as we can... simply for convenience reason.
Another thing I feel needs to be brought up. I've heard a few members in this topic, mention they feel like this is a scam of some sort. Sure you're allowed to an opinion, but quite honestly I'd like to ask you guys something.
Dont scams usually result in the scam artist gaining something?
Do you think we are gaining anything, from helping you guys with questions, and just informing you guys on the download count so far?
I'll level with you guys, I agree, I think Radon got released to public a bit early, maybe it should have remained just private beta-ing for a while until it was really good with lots of features. But the developer got excited and wanted to show his work off to everyone. Also, what harm can come from, letting as many people that want to, be able to try this out?
About the fact there is several topics regarding Radon, that was a mistake on well a lot of our parts. The developer asked all us beta testers (when it was still a private beta) to, go to forums we go on usually, and introduce Radon to everyone and to just get the word out. Kinda funny, how alot of the beta testers all go to this forum, and due to lack of communication between each other, it ended in there being several topics.
We all apologize for that, and mods can you PLEASE delete those other topics. 🙂

Scamming doesn't always have to be about money. People feel like there is a something very scammesque about this Radon thing because so many threads from so many people saying untrue or confusing things have been posted about something that is nothing but the WebKit engine wrapped in a really lousy user interface with less features than Netscape 1.0. It also doesn't help that you're somehow on "version" number 1.5, when in the software industry that is normally reserved for refined updates to an already feature-rich, stable, complete 1.0 product. You're not even at that point yet, as you keep labeling yourselves as "in beta," when in the software industry that is normally reserved for (relatively) feature-complete but buggy pre-release builds. You're not even at that point yet. You're pretty much an extremely early Alpha, at best (since you're not, like, writing a new rendering engine, you haven't really done anything).
What could such an outfit possibly gain from this if there is no money involved? Internet notoriety, fame, attention. More hits on Version Tracker mean people take you more seriously. More attention means more people might show interest in contributing or devoting resources to your project, etc...
Everyone makes mistakes. Just come back to MacRumors when you have something you can be proud to show us.
