It sounds good: the case will most certainly prevent the power button from rattling.

I don't think we should expect much from Apple in this regard though: they didn't do a thing about all those numerous complaints about the same issue of the iPhone 5/5S.

Yeah, your right about that, we can only live in hope though my friend ;)

I wouldn't hold your breath on Apple doing anything. You can easily count on one hand the number of times they've responded to widespread complaints. If they say anything, which is unlikely, expect it to be, "there's nothing wrong with them."

My one rattle too, same as 5s did. But i do own 5 that doesn't rattle.
3 display units i seen in Apple store also had same issue.

Exchanging would be lottery, need SE for now also I don't want use a case. My one cause extra noise when recording video and moving phone so found temporary solution using black vinyl like on photo below. Call it temporary as I don't think we should stick something on the phones to overcome "rattling button design".

small rattle here, but not enough rattle to bother me. my SE's home button is super loud and clicky though, and makes different sounds depending on where it's been pressed. makes it feel cheap compared to the consistent midrange click on my 5. debating whether to exchange it

My home button has that odd sound and cheap feel as well. Doesn't give me confidence it'll last long.

My 5s had a loose sleep/wake button and also a super loud and clicky/positive home button which I really liked, had no problems in the two years I owned it, although the home button did loosen up loads and was less clicky after a few months.
The home button on the 6s plus I have now feels similar to the 5s after two years.

Someone should run the stats on the forum. It looks like, by far, most people have the loose button. If yours doesn't rattle, I suppose you're an outlier.

Checked out 4 different SE's in town today and they all rattled, all had quite loose buttons you could move from side to side.

Also quite a variation in screens, some had yellow tint and some had a blueish white tint. The ones with the blueish white tint didn't have as much of a yellow band across the top of the screen that a lot of people are experiencing, it was definitely more prominent on the yellow tint screens. This has put me off exchanging my phone because mine has a yellow tint and i prefer it to the blueish whit tint, so if i exchange it i could still end up with a rattling wake button but also have a blueish white screen that i don't like.

it's not a loose button. its the camera lens that shakes.
No, it isn't the camera lens at all in this case. Many people on this forum have an iPhone SE with a loose sleep/wake button as demonstrated by the rattle being present when shaken but absent when shaken while gently resting your finger on the sleep/wake button or when you have a case on it which covers the sleep/wake button.

I agree, no rattle from my SE when i place my finger on the sleep/wake button. I believe that was a trait of the iphone 5 when the camera lens rattled

Yes. People need to stop citing the camera rattle, as it has nothing to do with this issue. I am kind of surprised at how many people are just dealing with it with these yellow screens and cheap feeling buttons. People have different tolerance levels, but I think it's almost a crime to let apple make so much money on faulty products.

My words.... if it is like that I send both ordered phones back immediately and maybe buying a 6s.

Well, I've had my 5S they came out. I just shook my phone and noticed the rattle. I guess you could say in 2.5 years I didn't notice/care. Can't see that changing much.

I'm currently on chat. Mine rattles, they are sending me a new phone. If that one rattles as well, I don't know what i'll do. Probably keep it. I didn't even notice it until I found this thread.

Are they sending you a new retail unit or a service replacement?
I'm guessing at this stage, they don't yet have refurbs to give out, but also, Apple will give you a new one if you're within the 2 week period.

I have a both a 5 and a SE right here.

So - like many others - I 'thought' I had the shaky button, but on both if i hold the button firm while shaking the phone the noise is still there - so I guess this isn't the shaky button issue - but the normal camera shake.

Regardless, I'm going to pick up another new SE right now (upgrading 16 to 64) so will see if it also behaves the same.
