Don't laugh. The new iPhone models can get quite warm and thermal throttling often occurs (I've had this happen to my iPhone 12 a couple of times). That's why I have a protective case with decent cooling.
while they can get quite hot, it gets hot in the upper corner next to the cameras (where the SOC is located). The cooling of this fan doesn't seem to fix that issue.

I'm not surprised since Razer makes a $150 ventilation mask. People are dumb.

I've never seen an iPhone get warm enough to need one.
Then you’ve never done any heavy video work. A couple summers ago, when I was shooting dock diving, the phone would shut down from overheating every couple minutes. I had to keep removing it from the tripod and dipping it into the pool to cool down.

So instead of just throwing around 'can't deny physics' like you're Elon Musk ... why not define the specific physics you're talking about that is applied here??
Here you go.

Actually I'd love a car phone holder with a cooling fan, as it can get super hot in the car during long drives in the summer, causing the phone to thermal shut off all the time. Never had it overheat anywhere else though.
Mine's mounted on my AC vent, so it stays quite quite cool. Not sure where you mount yours, but a vent mount would probably solve your issue.

If it was a wireless charger, then I could see why that might make sense. Keep the temp down so you can keep charging at higher wattage. But, just a fan? WTF?

Not good enough. I specifically asked how physics that you’re talking about applies here. Posting a generic article doesn’t show how it’s applicable here to this thread and your statement.

Thermodynamics isn’t the end all be all. Else we’d not have fans in laptops, vapour chambers etc.

A cord for power? Yet it’s already connected directly to a MagSafe 2-way power source.

Mine has definitely overheated. I just shut it off (for real) and turn it back on again and whatever was causing it doesn’t usually happen again any time soon. It’s an absolutely abnormal event, something that should not happen, but it’s not a frequent event. Normal use, even games, shouldn’t make it that hot.

Every single day I say the world has officially gone crazy. And every single day I’m surprised by a new low

Agree. I ran into overheat problem a couple time with my iPhone when it was placed on the holder.

Along with their "finger sleeve", this has to be one of the dumbest accessories to date for the iPhone.

Who buys this garbage?!

But this thing got no batteries, you have to use it with an always attached USB-C cable… why not just sit in front of a fan!
