I've got NFC on my n7 and haven't used it for anything but to try skim my own credit cards and see what sort of information could be pulled from it, otherwise haven't used it at all.

As I said, your use of the word "stretched" was nothing but doublespeak.![]()
Absolutely, you listed stuff that you feel are important. I listed stuff that are significant to me. Works out nicely.![]()
And it's probably about right for the hundreds of millions of people who thought it was good enough when they bought an iPhone in the past.
I wouldn't hold my breath.
I get the joke, but the reduced weight isn't just about how heavy it feels when you are holding in your hand. I noticed the reduced weight more when it's in a pocket. Less mass, means less force moving around.
It is stretched from the 3:2 aspect ratio. The amount of usable space is diminished by stretching it in only one dimension.
Incorrect. Pixels are added, nothing is stretched, nothing is lost.
This is why BaldiMac is calling your statement doublespeak....and I agree.
But of course you do. The ratio is stretched from 3:2 to 16:9. Stretch is a term used to refer to widescreen aspect ratios in TVs and movies. Yes I understand that pixels are added, making it taller but not wider. Yes I understand the pixels are not actually stretched in the vertical dimension. Unfortunately those added pixels are not as useful to me as they would be if added in both horizontal and vertical planes.
I haven't criticised Apple once. I love Apple products and have used them for nearly 10 years without feeling the need to look elsewhere.
I just don't feel like the iPhone 5 is a worthwhile improvement. What's wrong with that?
I have owned most iPhones produced (skipped the 4S) and am very excited about this new upgrade. I really don't understand what all the complaining is about. Seems like a great new iPhone to me.
I think its an improvement no doubt, but as much as the 3gs>4 was? I don't think so!
44% greater color saturation - I see no need to over saturate a display. That's more in line with a typical P&S Camera vs a good DSLR.
Full sRGB support - Good thing I don't edit images in PS on my phone
I'm sticking with my iPhone 4 and until something really game changing comes out I'll be very happy with what I've got.
Damn the 4S owns. So the 5 pretty much does blow the S3 out of the water, like I imagined it would.
In other words the colors will be more accruate than ever before. Just as with the new iPad's screen, this improvement in color saturation and accuracy get ignored or misunderstood.
As a photographer and an iPad 3 owner and user, I can say while the new screen and colors are great, it's far from accurate. There's a visible difference once you calibrate the output of the iPad screen to match a color corrected monitor and printer. Thankfully the tools exist so when I show my clients their images, they don't get the super saturated and clipped images that while look good on screen don't match reality.
Display Improvements
4" Screen I'm perfectly happy with 3.5"
In-cell touch What?
44% greater color saturation I'm happy with the current screen colour, as are most people.
Full sRGB support Not sure what this is?
Higher brightness Current brightness is fine.
Less glare Glare doesn't affect me and I doubt it affects others.
Performance Improvements
2x CPU iPhone 4 is fast enough
2x GPU Current graphics processor is good enough IMO
Better battery life I doubt it, let's see what happens in real life.
Enclosure Improvements
20% Lighter Who cares?
18% Thinner As above.
Increased durability How exactly?
Wireless Improvements
LTE Good improvement but not worth £529
DC-HSDPA Unsure what this is.
Dual band 802.11n As above.
Camera/Video Improvements
Sapphire Crystal (more durable) Don't understand this.
40% faster capture speed Current camera is fine.
Better low-light performance How much better?
Improved noise-reduction
720p HD Facetime camera Current camera is fine.
Improved video stabilization Hmmm.
Still photos while recording video Pointless feature.
A6 post processing of photos Won't change much.
Audio Improvements
Better Earphones Nothing to do with iPhone 5 itself.
Three microphones What does this improve?
5 magnet speakers Unsure what this improves?
2-way noice cancelling earpiece As above.
Wideband/HD Audio HD audio? How does that work?
Connectivity Improvements
80% smaller dock connector Nothing wrong with the current dock.
Reversible dock connector What does this improve?
*********************************************************
All the above really shows me is that a lot of the new features are very minimal and hardly improve anything of any real significance. The only feature I actually think is a good improvement is the LTE.
The iPhone 5 is obviously the "best iPhone ever". But is it really worth the money for a lot of people? Certainly not for me.
I'm sticking with my iPhone 4 and until something really game changing comes out I'll be very happy with what I've got.
Care to point me in the right direction?
