I have.....quite a few times since you posted. Nothing.

Well this is my second iPhone 7 Plus and I set both of them up as new. I don't restore from backups ever because all of my stuff is in the cloud and I know what settings I use.

I guess I'm seeing things then even though I just gave you evidence.

And also, like I said, only safari and mail do it and it doesn't matter if I restore my iPhone and set up as new. Also, 10.1 didn't do it, so how is my phone defective?

Weird... because all of my past iPhones have run great when they were just released.

By the way, here's the lag I'm getting opening Mail and Safari:
View attachment 679616

Those 2 pauses make it look choppy on my iPhone. No other app does this. Just Mail and Safari do it and it only started happening in iOS 10.2.
Never had this issue. My iPhone 7 Plus is running perfectly smooth open any apps include two apps you mentioned.

I am picky on animation smoothness and I don't see such except the only part not really smooth enough yet is the recent apps scrolling.

For me iPhone 7 Plus is 99% animation smooth. The 1% not smooth enough is the scrolling at recent apps.

Can you post an animation? I don't really believe you. I'm pretty sure the hardware inside the iPhone 7 Plus is the same on both of ours.

The iOS "animation" is definitely dumb. Very dumb.

Turn it off, and you'll see that iOS is still damn slow, even on the fastest phone. The animation is there to trick you into thinking things are faster than they are.

Performance-wise, the iPhone is a joke compared to the old BlackBerry phones. But people wanted the big screens and games and crap. So there you have it.

I don't find a lot of lag issues on my 6+. I've been using it for over 2 years now.

Same here. I like the 6 Plus better than the 7 Plus (and 6S Plus). Lighter, thinner, better screen, better speakerphone quality, headphone jack (ahem), leather case is better (not slippery like 7 series), real home button feels great. No stupid and useless 3D Touch adding to weight and thickness. Better battery life even after 2 years of use! Jeez. Now that I list off all the attributes, it amazes me how Apple has systematically crapped on this product line.

Next time I think about buying an iPhone, I will give Google's Pixel a serious look. Just read an article that rated it higher (at the #1 spot) than the 7 Plus.

all you do is say the same thing, the 6s is better than the 6. force touch is useful. and the 2nd generation touch id is way better. the thickness and weight are hardly an issue since cases for the 6/6 plus fit the 6s/6s plus. your rant is getting annoying.

Then try comparing your 6+ to a 7+. You may not have experience what lag feels like when you're using the difference in those two phones.

Also, it really depends on how you're using your phone for what purposes.

I do seen a lag and kind of slow iPhone 7 Plus. My colleague 256GB version is facing this issue and her phone is pretty empty without any much apps install at all.

My previous 32GB and current 128GB and also my sister 128GB no such issue.

Maybe is 256GB version issue.

I did put a new battery in it last month so I'm getting 2 days of battery again.

I don't keep a lot of apps on my phone. I really just use it for music and phone and texting.

How did you put a new battery in? Apple wouldn't do it for me, claiming I had more than 80% of capacity still.

I have Apple leather cases for both the 6s Plus and the 7 Plus. They're exactly the same as far as grip goes. Where are you getting this stuff from?

My own hands. I handle the 6 leather cases and the 7 on a daily basis. Without fail, the 7 leather cases are slippery as soap. The 6 are much better, grippier.

I've been trying for the last ten minutes to reproduce any of the problems you describe, and I'm not having any luck. I'm pretty sensitive to graphical glitches, especially on iPhones (for some reason I feel more willing to cut my Android phones slack in that regard, for whatever reason I hold Apple to a higher standard -- probably because $$$). My iPhone 7+ 128GB is just fine, rotates, home button, etc -- all the animations are very smooth.

I think some people just got glitchy handsets. There are too many people who have problems to dismiss it out of hand, but a lot of us got phones that work just fine. Out of all the phones I've bought, only my iPhone 6 had any problems and then it was just a cosmetic defect in the oleophobic screen coating.

I've also owned a lot of Android phones (flagships all of them, though you could argue the Nexus phones aren't necessarily flagship quality) and I think iOS is considerably more polished and smooth than any of them. Haven't tried a Pixel yet, though, maybe that brings the polish on Android up to iOS levels *shrug*.

If you are unhappy with the 7 plus performance then not sure there is another phone out there which is better as one thing the iPhone has over everybody else is performance

Yeah, I don't think it's my iPhone. My old iPhone 7 Plus did these things and so does my new one. Also, like I said, iOS 10.1 didn't have the animation stutters when opening mail and safari, that's 10.2 exclusive.

Also, none of my iPhone 7 Pluses had a smooth app switcher in any iOS version.

Also, with the home screen rotation bug, my iPad mini 4 does the same thing, so it's an iOS bug, not exclusive to the iPhone 7 Plus.

The only REAL problem iPhone 7 and 7 Plus have is the weird app closing animation. Cannot tell if it is lag or glitch. But it is downright annoying.

I am highly sensitive to those animations and it was the first and only thing I noticed.

If you are having lag problems, kindly update to 10.2.1 beta 2 and perform a full factory reset. Then set up your phone as new.

I'm DFU restoring my iPhone to 10.2 and I will not restore from a backup. I don't think it's going to help, but I updated over the air to 10.2 and this time I'm going to restore 10.2 instead of update.

I can't be the only one who has the worlds worst iPhone 7 Plus. How have 2 of my iPhones (both unchanged from the factory software) be different than all of your iPhone 7 Pluses?

I feel the opposite. My 7 Plus absolutely craps all over the 6 Plus I had, in every single way. Nothing at all was better about the 6 Plus over my 7 Plus right now.

It isnt 100% buttery smooth all the time but it is still the fastest and smoothest phone on the market currently and is much faster then the 6P and Edge Plus I had before too

Okay, I've restored my iPhone, didn't use a backup. Mail and Safari were not stuttering anymore. However, after use my iPhone for a few minutes and changing my wallpaper, Mail and Safari started stuttering again, so there goes that.

Guess I restored for nothing.

Someone please post a video if you think your iPhone 7 Plus is perfect. I'm really curious how other people are not getting the same stuttering on the same exact hardware/software combination. Especially since I'm pretty much set up as stock right now.
