I instantly felt so much better about owning an iPhone. You can feel better right now too. Apple is still signing 6.1.4. Here are simple steps you can take right now to enjoy your device the way it was meant to be.

1. Download appropriate 6.1.4 IPSW file for your device. Direct links from Apple's servers.

http://vipulmb.blogspot.com/2013/06/ios-612-613-and-614-direct-download.html

2. Open iTunes, connect your phone, and put your phone into DFU mode.

3. Once iTunes recognizes your device in Restore mode CTRL+Click Restore on windows or OPTION+Click Restore on mac.

4. Wait 5 minutes for your upgrade back to 6.1.4

5. Enjoy your new upgraded Apple iPhone and know that Steve Jobs is smiling from heaven.

I have a 4S with Sprint. What file do I download?

Fellas I need some help please. I unfortunately downloaded the ios 7 and really dislike it as well. I would like to downgrade before signing is turned off but I am having some problems. I am using a PC so when I download firmware I have to switch the dmg file to ispw. However all the programs I have tried are saying invalid file or requesting a password. What am I doing wrong? Is there a password?d Any help much appreciated. Thank you.

I downgraded last night too. There were just too many issues that slowed me down and I really dislike the new icons and colors.

Main issues:
Animations are way too slow.
Safari bookmarks are on the wrong side now, you have to reach with other hand.
Double clicking only shows you TWO recent apps instead of six.
Colors look awful
Icons look awful

Agree with everything. I'd write down everything I don't like about iOS 7 if it really mattered, but at this point there are too many to list.

Some way to stop animations/transitions

This is the worst part. Visually i think its horrendous but I imagine I will get used to it.

I'm on a iPad 4 and its slow. And there's no need for it to be. Its a device. Its so slow that if affects typing. There is no way I'm upgrading my iPhone 4S.

Is there some way to stop the animations/transitions. I "reduced" it the Accessibility settings panel but... not much is different.

Badly chosen color palettes and painfully slow animations are pretty much the 2 causes of the lacking functionality.

I'd say this affects EVERYTHING. Typing, switching apps, closing apps, going to the home screen, new browser tabs, scrolling, flicking, finding elements on the UI. The flatness is horrendous; some aspects of a UI should have more emphasis aesthetically so that you can focus on them faster, and easier. The overall look and feel is just a downgrade for so many tasks.

I went back to iOS 6. Everything's "fixed" now. lol

It works much better on iPhone than iPad. Especially 4S and 5.

So SJ is smiling at you from heaven; I guess you saw him at the end of a laughin moment after you went back to iOS 6.

Actually , ios7 has a LOT of useful features. Well basically just control center and the time stamps and a couple other features. The design will grow on you ...

Hey bro are you using a PC or Mac? I can't convert the dmg to ispw on my pc any suggestions. thank you

I followed the link on the OP's first post. I used the GSM link and it just gave me the ipsw file. I use mac btw.

Your avatar pretty much says it all.

Change is Hard.

- I am staying on iOS 5. 6 is way to flashy for me.

- I also run OS 9 on my Mac. Bouncing things in a dock? No thanks!

- Most of my friends have "HD" Televisions. Guess they have never heard of the radio. Sheep.

- I still wear the same shoes i had in 5th grade. They hurt my feet, but the bigger ones look stupid.

- It kills me to have to post this in English, Latin is a far better language. But its important everyone know how smart I am, so I will post it anyway.

Your comparison is flawed. Some people like change, others don't. It is how it is and there is nothing bad about it. So when a change is perceived to be largely for change's sake, then it is to be expected that not everyone is going to appreciate the change.

To me, iOS 7 is just that. I've used it since the GM and have found that not much has changed in terms of functionality, in some way it has even become worse (e.g. slower animations, legibility issues). Some of the changes are good, like the Control Centre and the improved multitasking (with opportunistic updates in the background), but they are hardly groundbreaking and also available by jailbreak. iOS 7 does not change how I use my phone, most of the changes are definitely cosmetic. The question then simply is whether that is enough and whether you like the new design. If not, then it is perfectly reasonable to stick with iOS 6. And there is ample to be criticised about iOS 7 too, for an OS that old it is preposterous at times.

OK thanks bro unfortunately I am on a PC and cant get the ispw file. It keeps asking for a password when converting the encrypted dmg to ispw. Anyone have a suggestion?

Yeah, really don't get why everything had to be changed with iOS7. Apple owns the rights to iOS6, not Scott Forstall and team. Why change how the battery charging indicator works? Let's make a little lightning bolt just so it's not like prior iOSes.

iOS7 is good for me. Definitely not downgrading back to an iOS that has barely changed in 6 years.

It's change people, accept it and move on.

Well obviously I was exaggerating to make a larger point. But I think the comparison to the transition between OS 9 and OS X is valid.

OS X added what some people considered superfluous flair. In many ways, especially for power users, it was slower. And there were so many people who hated it and didn't want to change.

But it also changed the paradigm. It got way better every year. And it set Apple up for things they could never do with OS 9.

People say there is only cosmetic changes to iOS 7 because the cosmetic changes are drastic and visible to all. There are also deep changes in ways apps can behave. The real advantages of these changes won't fully be felt for a while. I predict most people who "hate" the new OS now will recoil in horror when they encounter an unupdated App a month from now.

But that's the point. Once real improvements become apparent, then people are more easily persuaded to adopt it. But at this time, it is largely about a new design. Why change something you are happy with, when it's not necessary to update? The thing with OS 9 and OS X was far more than just a design update, it was most of all an architectural update. Not so with iOS, its more an incremental update if you disregard the new design.

FYI, I just went back to iOS 6.1.4 from iOS 7 and had to hit SHIFT + Click Restore (not CTRL) to be able to select file. I'm new to this iPhone stuff but managed to figure that out. Thanks for posting these links. I went iPhone a few weeks ago from Android and Apple decided to take away what I liked about it. I'll be sticking with iOS 6.

Do note that today will probably be the last day that Apple will sign iOS 6, so if don't like 7 do it now. However I am liking iOS 7.

Maybe they can extend that deadline in view of the very polarizing nature of its' Pastel/Minimalist design?

I agree fake leather calendar binding and faux wood needed to be ditched but the 180* turn they made was necessary? Really?
