flight times and updates

so I found with my shipment that the departure and arrival times did correlate with fedex's flight take-off and landing times...might be a "duh" statement, but the updates came pretty soon after those activities. I ordered at 1:21 am on Friday morning, iPad2 is in Santa Ana waiting to deliver tomorrow; 1 day sooner than Apple's confirmation. yahoo's fedex page does seem to be more detailed though, so if you're wondering why your pad's been sitting for too long, check it out on the yahoo page.

No, what I mean is I wonder if Apple decided to make wait those they had a record of already owning an ipad 1. Figuring they wouldn't mind waiting becuase they already had one.

Pretty friggin sleazy. Before this debacle, I had a very high opinion of Apple, now they suck as bad as AT&T, Bank of America and all the other companies that continually screw their own customers.

Ahh... Darn! Thought I had a good theory. Just Apple is plain FUBAR - hopefully they will learn from this catastrophe they caused for their customers.

hmmm i'm not too far from santa ana... no more than 40 mins... wonder why we're on different shipments? i ordered at 1:04am on the 11th... oh welll, on a flight out of alaska now!
 
can anyone verify the weight of the plastic cover?

I order 2 one is grey and one is blue. they ship in 2 shipment; when i check Fedex tracking it show; one is 1 lb, and one is 2 lb??

isn't it strange?

I called twice. Call the number and keep pressing 0 and you'll get a new one for sure.

just called again and got very nice rep ,i told her that my friend got expedited shipping and free smart cover and she said she would hate for my friend to get something i didn't so she added a blue smart cover and expedited shipping to my order.
 
I sure hope the jackass at Apple that came up wth this seemingly random way they are distributing ipads to customers get his butt fired (should ALWAYS be FIFO -- no exceptions whatsoever).....

- actually, they will probably promote him.

my smart-cover that I got for free-99 just went from "not yet shipped" to "prepared to ship" within a 2 hour range... I'm starting to think me and apple can make-up now.

depends on how many non-ipad packages are being shipped.... one plane could be all ipad, one could be all "regular" packages... who knows?
 
Random Order Shipping

Look, I am as irritated as the next guy. My 32/black/ATT is still not yet shipped. BUT I am pretty sure 99% of the people on here do not understand logistics. Geography, model, batch shipments all factor in to shipping as quickly and cheaply as possible. I am not so sure this is random, but possibly very complicated.
 
Someone just posted this on the other shipping thread. Apparently his shipping is now labeled "2 day" after calling CS. Mine is now labeled "2-3 day" and someone else who posted earlier is labeled "priority" after calling. I'm beginning to think these reps are just typing whatever they want in the shipping type boxes. Are there really such separate types of shipping through FedEx- one called "2 day shipping", one called "2-3 day shipping", one called "priority shipping", and one called "standard shipping"? I find that hard to believe - especially the two separate services for "2 day" and "2-3 day".

No Fed Ex is moving these in bulk as a fast as they can. Call it what you will and its a great CS rep ploy to make you feel like you got something, but I doubt you did. Once it ships, they are moving fast no matter what your 'type' of shipping is called. China to US in 2 days is great, 3 days very good no matter they call it.

LMAO! You go both and yours already shipped? Damn, I will be calling for a free smartcover no matter what now. Already bought one, so I'd just sell it... I'll try and get a leather :p
