I ordered a 32GB White WiFi only model at 5:03 a.m. My order still has not shipped as of this posting. I ordered the Camera Kit and a Black Leather Smart Cover at the same time. Both of those items have shipped and will be delivered today (Camera Kit) and Friday (Smart Cover). Why the huge delay on the iPad though?

This is also a lie. Mine is wifi only 12:45 PST 3/11 and hasn't budged from "not yet shipped" while plenty of 3G orders after mine have been delivered.

As of 3/16 11:30 a.m. "Not Yet Shipped"
went to the Grocery Store with the wife around noon, next Door a target, what the Hell i'll give it a try, 12:15 walked out with a 64gig White wifi 😀
 
OK, moment of truth!!! just saw the FedEx truck leaving my street!!! I'm doin' it!!! I'm going downstairs!!! I better see an iPad! (it was on the truck for delivery since this morning)

(16gb wifi, black with engraving, ordered 3:03 central on 3/11)

ETA: WEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOT IT 🙂 🙂

Most of the units I've seen going out are wifi only, and haven't seen any black 64GB 3G wifi units received yet. Most still in NOT YET SHIPPED catagory. And it sounds right because now the 3G units have to be made for both AT&T and Verizon, making it more complicated and WIFI ONLY IS THE MOST SIMPLE CONFIGURATION.

Basically, my friend called an Apple Store to discuss iPad 2 availability, and somehow got on the phone with their head of business sales who told him that the Apple Stores are giving preference to their business customers (i.e., new iPad 2 stock goes to business orders first). He says that he simply setup a business profile for his company and then ordered several iPads (for him and a few of his colleagues). Coincidentally, his company may actually become an ongoing business customer, purchasing iPhones, iPads, and possibly Macs for or on-behalf-of it's employees, so I'm sure that helps his chances of getting iPad stock soon.

If this pans out, he'll be able to cancel his shipping-in-4-5-weeks online order and instead have an iPad in just a few days. I'll keep the thread posted on the success ;-)

Absolutely false. Mine was ordered that way at 12:46 and its still "not yet shipped". Idk why people are trying to find logic in their methods, when there isn't one to be found...

You're right, it sounds logical, but if you look through this thread, there are a good amount of 3G's going out and plenty of early wifi's that haven't.
 
The waiting game...

Well, I wasn't able to order the iPad 2, until 10:32am EST on March 12, but my delivery date is April 14 for my iPad 2, but my smart cover comes in a week before- LOL I better play with that smart cover and know the "ins and outs" lol...I hope I am not the longest wait

I ordered a black 16GB 3G AT&T at 6:07AM EST - also in the 3 - 5 window for shipping. My iPad has been in the "prepared for shipment" mode for 53+ hours at this point. What did you order?
 
I knew it. All I had to do was post that I was tired of waiting on Fedex and it arrives!!! Sorry to those still waiting. For the record, ordered at 3:38AM.
 
Two black 64GB WiFi ordered at 2:45am CST March 11th:

10:44am this morning are on FedEx vehicle for delivery. According to FedEx tracking.

ETA still says March 17th by 4:30pm.
 
got my cord just now! it wasnt supposed to deliver til tomorrow.

*tries to force her hopes down that she will get her ipad delivered sooner than estimated with all her might*😱
 
Status on iPad2

I ordered the iPad2 on Friday March 11 at 1:45am PST along with the Blue Polyurethane Smart Cover. I received my Smart Cover on Tuesday March 15. I'm still waiting for the iPad2 to ship. My status is
Ships: 3 - 5 business days
Delivers: Mar 18 - Mar 25

I have not received an email stating that it's been shipped.

I called and let them know that I was frustrated by the projected 6 days of delivery time and the fact that they are bumping some and not others and handing out free Smart covers. She refunded the money that i paid for my Smartcover, but clarified that all iPad orders are already using expedited shipping and that any change made in the system won't speed things up.

I ordered Black 3G AT&T 32GB same ship est. and still... nothing ive been super patient but seeing all these people getting their ipads is making me upset. 😡
