Hey guys, make sure you're using the yahoo package tracker for FedEx. It will give you more frequent and specific updates.

Also, 24-30 hours in Lantau is what's been about average, then the same in AK before going off to the regional, then state delivery systems. I ordered at 4:01am EST the night of release (engraved, black 16gb wifi), and I'm scheduled for delivery today.

But hang in here guys! And to all the ridiculous trolls and N00BS that love to bitch and moan on these forums so much: please stop abusing apple CS. No other company treats you this well; stop taking it for granted.
 
Got the email i've been waiting for

I ordered the iPad on Friday 3/11/11 at 1:40am PST. I finally got the email stating it's left the FedEx origina facility in Shenzhen CN. It will be delivered by Tuesday 3/22/2011! Good luck to everyone!

My cover has been stuck in Anchorage since yesterday. Not upset as the iPad won't be here till next week anyway and still riding the wave of relief that at least it finally flipped to prepared status.

Smart cover - Shipped March 16th / Delivery Date: March 21st
iPad- Shipped March 15th / Delivery Date: March 22nd

Apple and Fed-ex show the same delivery dates

haha cute. Lantau Island is where they remove the A4 chip and sub in a remnant of an original TI chip.

Chapel, mine is following the exact same route. I can only assume they are on a palette that will be broken apart once it hits the US distribution centers in Anchorage, memphis or who knows where else.

How China > HK > Japan > China > Korea makes any sense is beyond me. If every package takes these types of random hops I can't image Fed Ex is running a cost efficient operation.

If that were done to meet the delivery date of tomorrow by 4:30 pm (which I don't see happening at this point since it has no indication of even being directed stateside at this point) then I would understand. However, the trip from HK > Japan > Korea alone took nearly 48 hours. So if we were to assume that it's jumped around to get to us faster, we'd have to assume that there was no capacity on any Fedex flight from HK or Japan stateside in the last 48 hours???

I ordered mine at 1:04 am PST on Friday the 11th as well. Trying to contemplate why some who have ordered slightly before or well after is simply mind-boggling from a logistical standpoint.

I would say that is would show a touch of class for those who have already received theirs to not continually post in this tread gloating about it. It would be more appropriate if they posted a new thread or an existing owners thread in the forum.

However I've been an apple customer for the last 10 years, that would be a bit much to expect from this rabbid fanbase. :cool:

For what it's worth, today is business day 5 for everyone who ordered online, so if the rest of our iPads don't ship out by the end of today then we really do have a right to complain to Apple. ;)
 
Prepared for Shipping...

I ordered my iPad 64 AT&T at 1:05am PST. On Mar. 16th the status changed to "Prepared for Shipping" . It is still that way on St. Patrick's day, so far.

I like hearing that people received what they ordered. I don't view it as gloating. We are all following this thread for the same reasons.
