thank you for this! I was starting to get a bit bummed. now lets just hope yours doesnt get bumped back .

its funny cuz I think I am fine with it getting delivered on the 22nd I just feel weird about it being out of country. its like once its in the us I know its not going to take a world tour before I get it. first my ipad was taking tequila shots now it wants to take in the sights. well I know he brought his camera but hes running around naked.
 
I received my cable kit on Tuesday and the smart cover is out for delivery today. Both items delivered a day earlier than Fedex estimated. So hopefully that applies to the iPad, too. It's scheduled for delivery on the 22nd, I expect it to be here on the 21st.

BTW, I live in San Diego county. SoCal delivery seems to be fairly quick.

Trying to figure out why my iPad won't leave Hong Kong as of 9:00am on March 17th. I'm really hoping that I am missing some tracking updates and it has departed that facility. Anybody else see it jump from "At local FedEx location" to showing up in Anchorage or Memphis without a "departed FedEx" in between?

I am over in the palmdale area. I got my cord a day early but my case is right on schedule. Lets both keep our fingers crossed for a monday delivery. ;)
 
Shipped.

My 64G, Black, AT&T wifi/3g went to "Prepared for Shipping" last night around 6:00 PM EDT. It is now showing as "Picked up Shenzhen" as of 9:11PM in their time zone. FedEx shows it as delivery for 3/23/11 in Virginia (just outside of DC). According to my notes, that would be about 3 days inside of their delivery window. Isn't here yet, but seems to be tracking.

By the way, there is a neat app called "Delivery Status" which has been more accurate (up to date) than both Apple Store and FedEx. Can't remember what it costs, but I've used it on my iPhone for quite a while, now. It will even "assist" you in finding Apple, Amazon, UPS, USPS, and FedEx information, then it gives you very quick and accurate updates on shipping.

Did calling automatically change my order status?

So, my shipment had been stuck on "Not yet shipped" for 4 days. I decided to call after just checking the status. It asked for my order number, then read my status. The status changed to "Prepared for Shipping". I refreshed the browser, and sure enough it had changed. I told a friend this story yesterday. He came into work, and his neighbor told him the exact same story before he even mentioned my experience. Coincidence?

What I don't understand is... they've known for weeks, if not months of when the Ipad2 will be released... so WHY is there a 3-5 day wait when you ordered it the very second it went on sale online? How about you make a few hundred of them in the weeks leading up to the opening and start shipping them on Day 0? how about a little more preparation? I saw some angry customers at the Apple Store today that showed up for a chance to get a new shipment of ipads and they were turned away because there weren't any.... why is the communication so POOR from Apple? just make the stupid product and sell it, enough of the bull crap!

My package is on the flight to Anchorage as we speak (arrive 1:37pm Alaska time), so if you had the same scans I assume we're travel buddies.

For those who routed from Lantau to Japan, I am thinking you might have the direct flights to Memphis, as it seems that most of those have a 3/18 commit date. I could be totally off though.
 
I hit refresh on my order page a few minutes ago to check on my 64Gb Att model. It had reverted from Prepared to Ship to Not Yet Shipped...anyone else had this happen to them?
